Ramsey is injured tonight isn’t he? I agree with you, I don’t feel confident going into any game…. Because we’ve rarely looked comfortable for a full 90 minutes. I put it down to Enzo’s philosophy, he won’t come away from it, even though on occasion we’ve seen how devastating we can be when we get an opportunity to break on teams. If he was less inclined to stick so rigidly to his philosophy, then we would probably be a lot more comfortable, and dare I say, we would probably have even more points on the board. However, having said that, I like the fact Enzo has a clear plan, as it means we can really focus on the right type of players to implement the style.

Sky don’t have it listed though. So it can’t be on? https://www.skysports.com/football/fixtures

I was (for reasons unknown) at the Burton game on Boxing Day, one of their fans claimed Alves is joining them in January on loan. Don’t know is @ramadaone knows anything of this?

Sky will list every game live on their website, and that will include those on the red button. Ordinarily every championship midweek game is usually available to watch, however, it’s a full fixture list tonight, which may suggest why they’re not showing all of them.

I don’t like this black and white view. Daka is a completely different player to Kalechi. Daka suits this system down to a tee his pressing ability by himself is Kante-ish, and he has a far better ability to get into the right spaces. Daka’s ability to gamble in the penalty area will see him comfortably out score Kalechi. 90% of Daka’s goals will be scruffy bundles over the line, but that’s why he’s ideal, because they’re the goals that win you games. Kalechi has been nothing short of appalling this season, whether it’s because he wants to leave, or he thinks he is too good for this level I don’t know, but he hasn’t made much of a positive contribution at all…. Daka may have a scruffy technique (Kelechi’s isn’t much better I might add), but he has more desire to succeed, and will score more goals given the chances.

It appears the game isn’t on sky. They’re only showing two championship games today. OPA it is!

No doubt AC Milan will get linked too!

I was having a conversation with a Burton fan on Boxing Day, he claims Alves is going there on loan?

Pickford you dippy ****!

Seems that way. Everton are literally huff and puff with a bit of luck thrown in.

If we sign this chap, we could end up entering a team for the Olympics for the floor routines…..

Certain aspects of his game he still needs to sort, but over the last month he’s come on leaps and bounds. I wasn’t too sure on him but now he’s really caught my attention. I didn’t think initially he would be able to step up to the premier league, but having seen him over the last few weeks I think he potentially could given a chance.

I think the only reason for this is the mixture of teams we’ve had. Rotherham have taken points off some decent teams this season, so he didn’t want to take any risks there. Then you have Ipswich who you have to really go all out for, but then you’ve got Cardiff after which is another tricky game. I think you’ll see big changes over the next two games, and then obviously we lose a few players to the African nations. I can’t really blame him for going strong for the last few games, I think the only mistake he’s really made was yesterday, I think he thought we could see the game out at 0-1, and that’s a risky game to play against a side that scores a lot of goals.
-
It’s easy to kick off when we slip up. Calmed down a smidge since yesterday, but I’m at about 90% of pure anger still this season following last, so it doesn’t take much. In terms of his tactics I don’t think he got a lot wrong yesterday. The only thing I can criticise is the fact we didn’t look harder to get that second goal. As mentioned I wasn’t as impressed with Ipswich as others seem to have been on here, I think they do have a bit of quality, and complement it well with hard work….. but, as Leeds demonstrated, they leave a lot of space in behind and the better teams in this league should punish them. I felt we tried to manage the game at 1-0 and that’s a dangerous game at this level particularly, because I think more players are willing to take those pop shots from distance than you will in the premier league where most of the teams prefer to play through teams. Looking at it again, he’s got to rotate, he can’t keep playing the same players over and over when we have other options, especially through this period. In a nutshell, we should have pursued that second goal more relentlessly before making the changes we did, if we had got it, the game was over.

I can see wholesale changes for this one. Souttar, Justin, Hamza, Casadei, Akgun and one of Cannon and Kelch to start?

I don’t think it’s as cut and dry that, for about 40 minutes we found space all over the pitch, but only once punished them for it. the second half was a bit pathetic, we clearly sat on the one goal hoping it would be enough and it wasn’t. I wasn’t the slightest bit impressed with Ipswich at all, I thought they were scrappy, got more decisions their way, should have definitely been down to ten men. We threw away three points rather than Ipswich earning it. They won’t be in the top two come the end of the season I don’t think. -

I disagree, I actually miss VAR. I’d rather the right decision be found than see what we saw yesterday….. that penalty miss was frankly ridiculous….. -

Neither of Casadei and Akgun will be here next season? There’s no point worrying about next season now….. there’s two transfer windows in between, and the summer transfer window is likely to be carnage. This squad will be largely overhauled in the summer there’s no way Enzo won’t want that to happen. -
We need to be better out of possession. We’ve only got two players who effectively move through the lines out of possession, Winks and Praet, so when Mads is punching passes into the midfield the midfield need to be moving into those spaces to claim those passes. For me it’s A communication issue and not an issue with Mads passing ability.

What annoys me more than anything is that Ipswich are a poor team. I was completely unimpressed by them today, and am baffled they’re even close to the top of the table. They were there for the taking, but we just seemed to try and coast through the second half, the ref was gagging to give them something anyway, so we should have buried them. Just bitterly disappointed with how that’s turned out. We let ourselves down tonight and that’s the most disappointing aspect of the game. -

Poor second half, approached the second half in completely the wrong way and just never took control of the game. A very disappointing game, we had a chance to all but end the challenge today, and we didn’t, thought Ipswich were shit, and we failed to finish them off. -
Second half has been shit. Approached it in the complete wrong way. Should have finished these off long ago.

KDH had to do better there, lazy effort.

10/10 from Daka there. That ****ing turn….
