Birmingham City (A) 2-3 Leicester - Post-Match Thread
Pliskin replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
Sometimes you can just tell, he’s shown next to nothing on any of the occasions he’s come on the pitch…. Perhaps he needs a full 90, but there’s nothing I’ve seen so far that makes me think he’s got something… -
Birmingham City (A) 2-3 Leicester - Post-Match Thread

Most of the first half, brilliant. Mavadidi was excellent, as was Fatawu. Second half never had control of the game, turned over possession far too often in midfield…. Got a job done, that’s all that matters. They’re a ****ing horrible side, and Tom Cannon is crap. -
I think he will score.
-
This game is too open for my liking! We need a third.
-
It’s a huge game, if we want to win the league, we win games like this. Tough one though, got a bad feeling about it.
-
On Sky, they will undoubtedly make it about Rooney v Vardy, Ipswich drop points, opportunity to open up a gap? Guaranteed to drop points…… 2-2.
-
“While Ipswich have been the vastly superior side so far this season and remain second in the Championship” Is this the most ridiculous statement you’ve ever read? Quality BBC work as always.
-
More like gold into shit? Surely?
-
This. Plus he has this amazing ability to score all types of goals. We have seen cultured finishes from him, and scrappy one yarders. Those 50/50 tosses into the box he’s likely to scrap a goal.

It would be suicide not to utilise the arena for concerts and shows…… the city of Leicester is on its arse and something like this would really give the city a lift! I certainly hope it’s something they are considering when building this venue…… is it really the council who determine these things? If this is the case, then it’s farcical….. no wonder the city is a devolving shit hole.

He was superb yesterday, absolutely savaged their fullback.
-
I thought we played well. First half the goal kind of killed us, the second half we were fantastic. 3-2 annoys me though, as I thought Millwall were ****ing shit, they showed a bit of endeavour but other than that one of the worst sides I’ve seen at the KP. Delighted for Daka, whereas his overall game is still a bit poor, he knows how to score goals so long May that continue. Im also not sold on Cannon, if he’s still injured I don’t know, but I’m not convinced by him so far.
-
I fancy Daka and Cannon to bag today.
-
Ipswich really are here to stay. This is going to be a slog. Need to win tomorrow.

In systems like this, players like Hamza can often come into their own. Sometimes you just need a few players who are fairly decent in multiple areas of the game. Players like James Milner for example.
-
Guess who’s back, back again….
-
Thought he was brilliant. Yes Plymouth were as useful as a dingleberry during a life drawing, but….. you can only play what’s in front of you… But he was excellent today, movement off the ball was brilliant he pulled the defenders all over the place and was a threat…. A few better places passes and he could have had a couple. Impressed with Cannon too, he looks sharp and has a nice touch.

Piece of piss.

I’m not slating you, I just wanted to know what your grievance was. I don’t disagree with you, the play is too slow sometimes, and we do lack creativity. My personal opinion, is that the two heigh 8 positions aren’t dynamic enough at the moment. And winks is the only player who really shows for the ball when the CB’s have it. You’re not wrong, you do need a high calibre of player to ply this style properly. I would argue the holding onto the ball for long periods of time is more to do with expecting the movement to be more dynamic, I think your point of not having sufficient quality is valid, especially in the midfield as a collective is the issue, rather than Vesty. I think the problem is with Maresca, is this is his style, it’s all the plans rolled into one, and when it’s not working it looks dreadful, Man City v Villa is case in point.
-
Well…. No…. I mean unless you’re suggesting we’re supposed to score every goal starting with Vesty? Sheffield Wednesday was just a shocker in general, we played crap all over the park. I’m struggling to see what your point is? Is it the pace of the play? Or just the fact Vesty and Mads will hold onto the ball when there’s no obvious pass on?
-
Overly simple way of explaining it…. That’s not the reason Vesty holds onto the ball, he holds onto it to entice the forward players to press, so he can then beat said press with a pass. It’s not a case of just holding onto the ball for the sake of it, it’s holding onto the ball to force stubborn opposition to step up.
-
****ing hell, you’re properly scraping the barrel when you’re claiming that’s retro…….

Hang about, possession based football is anti-football? How does that work?
