  1. Well, it did. It's been widely reported that it ends 8/15.
  2. Jack Harrison is available...
  3. That seems to be the growing consensus among the self-styled insider cabal on twitter.
  4. Supposedly Nixon said (I read it second-hand) BEK is leaning Leeds because he doesn't think he'd get minutes at Newdastle or Spuds.
  5. I find the deafening wailing at Vestergaard's inclusion in the lineup hilarious, given that he clearly bosses this level and was probably our best player two seasons ago.
  6. Exactly. Ideally he'd prefer a club not fighting relegation but either way, he comes out ahead having played a season in the PL instead of the Championship. As long as he looks decent doing it.
  7. I think Leeds very likely would take him yesterday. It's a question of him waiting to see if someone not in a relegation scrap makes an offer. BEK wants top flight football, Leeds is having a hard time getting well-regarded attacking players to take their money. One way or another he's probably gone - if no one else triggers the release clause, he'll signal Leeds he's ready to sign and they will.
  8. I suppose, though he's only ever played for England on the youth teams.
  9. Won't be seeing Ward unless we play them in a cup tie.
  10. Specifically Palace, most likely. If they sell Eze they reportedly want him and they can offer European football.
  11. Guiu will be loaned to a first-division team if he's loaned. I like the Gül shoutout, though.
  12. Looks like Leeds is about to close with Igor Paixão. Difference-making talent there. Their window is starting to look pretty good, and Sunderland has been surprisingly aggressive as well. This may be the year when the trampoline streak is broken for at least one of the three promoted clubs. Leeds look like the best bet to survive but Sunderland may have leapfrogged Burnley at this point.
  13. I still think when properly utilized (obviously something we've never seen in a Leicester shirt) Skipp offers more than Winks.
  14. The eternal Teemu Pukki had 13 GC in 1233 minutes in the Finnish Prem last season. After Vardy we can sign him and honestly say "we wanted to get younger at the striker position".
  15. DCL still has enough "what if" appeal to land a PL contract. He's not signing with us.
  16. They were fourth in wage bill in L1 last season and massively behind Birmingham and Huddersfield, so it's a little more than that and not quite so plain or simple.
  17. It will, but just having achieved that will be such a huge story and frankly a miracle that it would be a great note to go out on. Mind you, I think it’s going to take a couple of years for them to seriously push for that. The Championship is a different animal and full of huge (compared to Wrexham) clubs. And probably a new manager too, though I think we’re assuming Parky can’t do it based on the fact that he hasn’t, not that we know he can’t. Who knows?
  18. People love to mock Wrexham as if they hadn’t just been promoted three seasons in a row. These guys aren’t t dumb enough to start Ward over Okonwo, who was one of the biggest purchases they’d ever made. Ward is a made for TV signing, plain and simple. Hometown boy, “PL player”, Wales international. If Ward is starting games it’s because Okonwo is hurt (which to be fair is a regular occurrence).
  19. He's very much in the modern Spanish orthodoxy, which is a sort of evolved spin on Cruyff's total football. In that system interchangeability is crucial - you don't want the opponent always knowing where everyone is going to be. In the Spanish style of it you often see teams line up with no true striker, and given the makeup of our current squad I wouldn't be shocked to see Cifuentes employ that a lot. The similarities with Enzo seem very tenuous to me. Apart from both wanting to dominate possession I think they're more different than alike.
  20. Imagine the headlines if we now signed a coach named Storm.
  21. XAVI SIGNS WITH LEICESTER
  22. This would be an uncharacteristically WTF move from our board. I’m not exactly inspired by his track record, but would certainly prefer him over Gary and Wilder. Young and relatively progressive in approach, seems open to giving the kids a chance to prove themselves.
  23. Does he have any interest in managing?
  24. Putting a lot on faith there. Especially coming out of the situation he's been through with Wednesday.
  25. I certainly hope Rohl is the guy. But serious question - why would any manager with options work for us right now? How can you possibly believe you'll be backed?
