Christ...if that's all true then no wonder he didn't look the same player at Chelsea. It sounds like the sort of stuff that goes on in South American football, not on our shores.

I'd be interested to know if deaths attributed to other causes have dropped and what the overall death rate around the world is compared to previous years

I think the FA cup and Champs League will be scrapped - certainly the CL. No reasonable chance to get them working. The league MAY finish but I think it'll be July at the earliest for it being complete. Possibly in specific locations and all behind closed doors. I'm still not going to be surprised if the league just ends
-
At the very least, however this ends, there will be a lot of finger pointing and new political/ country alliances made. I also wouldn't put it past certain countries to try and take advantage of the situation.

We keep saying the bubble will burst. It was going to burst with Shearer. Then Ferdinand. Then Ronaldo. Then Bale. Then Coutinho. Then Neymar. Will this be the time the bubble actually bursts? I'm not so sure. I think it would take at least 5 league clubs (from top tier to fourth) going bust in the span of 2 years. A Rangers on its own can be mitigated - the players can go elsewhere. But if you lose 5 clubs all in a short space of time, that's at least 100 players (not including academy and reserves) that suddenly need to find a team. That is where you get issues because clubs might not be able to take them all on.

Tbh even the logistics of doing games in June is looking ridiculous. Every staff member quarantined for 2 weeks prior to games, then kept in a hotel for the 5 weeks of it. If one person tests positive the whole house of cards collapses. And you've got to have staff agree to not see their family for at least 7 weeks. You can say military people do that all the time but these aren't military people. They're caterers, kit men, physios all doing it to keep a league owned and run by billionaires happy. Not sure I'd do it.

Absolutely wasted at Chelsea. He made more of an impact in his short time here than he did with them. I doubt he'd come back here. Off to PSG or one of the Spanish clubs.

I really think they should have cancelled the Bank Holiday. Yes, there's some that will benefit from it but they could just been given regular holiday. Tesco near me yesterday was absolutely awful at half 8 in the morning. 30 minutes waiting and I left the queue to get in. No point. Especially with the good weather tempting idiots out. Just push it back and reschedule it for some point in July or September. It's the equivalent to booking a holiday abroad and staying in your room.

Yeah. The club have set a precedent. We sell at our prices.

One thing's for sure is that it's not going ahead like normal. Empty stadiums at the very least but I'd be surprised if it's as big a competition. Uefa are greeding sods though so will try and keep everything going.

You have to drive all the way to Wembley to buy them at the box office

It does look like some of the older players have seen the wood for the trees and recognised the owners of their clubs might not be averse to just cutting their pay and keeping the money. Good to see they've tried to ensure the money goes where it's needed. Though it still rankles me some of the wages the big clubs throw out. I know they're paying 50% tax (if they are) but there's enough money in the league to really sort out problems in this country. A player on 20k a week could spare money for 4 junior PCs and still take home £450k a year in basic salary. This virus has just really highlighted the issue for me. Don't get me wrong it's great that they're doing this and there's hundreds of big city canary wharf boys earning more but I can't help but feel my enjoyment of the game is tainted - certainly at the top couple of levels.

10. While half watching telly. Easy.

He's been inconsistent but he's still only 22, adapting to a new country and league and he does seem like he gives a monkey's about playing for us. I'll take positive attitude and effort any day of the week.

I think it's important to remember that most footballers are from working class, inner city backgrounds and probably really do care at this point. I'd also argue the footballers who are parents really want to do something. Yes, players should have acted but he's right - if they all collective took a pay cut - is that money actually GOING to NHS or will it stay in an oil baron's pockets?

Not as such, no. She has other activities she does and she is an outdoorsy type of person but never to this extent. And she has gone to great pains to put across her view that the government aren't doing enough and they're just trying to blame the public. She did make it very clear that she didn't "touch anyone" while she was out but, for me, that's not so much the point. I'm most annoyed by the fact that she slates the government for their approach and then has has gone against their advice.
-
Got to have a bit of a rant - a friend of mine has been criticising the govt left right and centre, saying they should provide more PPE and MPs should self isolate etc etc. She gets on a high horse that her sister is a frontline NHS worker at risk. ...then tells me she did a 20 mile bike ride yesterday, a 15 mile walk through 3 towns the other week and she's upset her kids won't leave the house.

No but he is 33 and there are strikers out there who could replace him - admittedly if money was no object. We'll get maybe 18 months out of him in good form but if you offered me Aguero, Son, Aubameyang or even a fully fit Kane and I wouldn't complain.
-
100% agree with this. I think he was looking for a little bit of easy point scoring. At the end of the day - look at the bigger picture: owners, shareholders, etc. If you point the finger at players then you have to point at the rest of the super rich. I know of a bloke who pays £20k a year to have a box at Man City's stadium that he doesn't use half the time. Is he putting his hand in his pocket?

I live up north - as name suggests - and I know a United fan who was giving it large that they bought Maguire off us. He soon changed his tune.

I stated Evans and Ricardo were the two I'd most hate to lose. They are the two real kinds of players that other teams don't have and give us our edge over others. Barring VVD, who has really dipped in form recently, I'd say Evans is the best marshal of a defence in the league. Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea etc would all kill to have someone like him in their backline. And Ricardo is Ricardo. The rest of the ones you mentioned - barring Ndidi - there are better players in those positions dotted around the league.
-
Well that's something positive at least. Right now I think Ricardo and Evans are the two I'd most hate to lose.

Interest in Football after this crisis ends....

I do hope it shows us how much more important John in the supermarket is vs Harry Kane or Pogba. I would like to see this result in lower wages for players and something of tempering the ridiculous situation we're at regarding how they're treated. -
I doubt any club is seriously looking into transfer at the mo. There's still the possibility we could be shafted by the big boys and either told the season is void and no CL for us or we do get CL "next season" and have to work out when that is. The Barcelonas of this world can afford to just keep on as close to normal as they can but we still have no idea what happens to us

Genuinely give yourself something creative to do or set little goals. The other half works with prisoners and the absolute best way they keep sane is learning and improving something. Start taking online courses or do something where you get a sense of gratification. That way a day doesn't feel like a waste. I know it sounds daft but have a look at what you can do immediately. Do some weeding, paint some furniture or even just try drawing some fruit.
