You're not a very clever fox then... the specific loophole here doesn't apply to Everton or Forest's situation, as they remained premier league clubs. One clause being unenforceable doesn't render the entire ruleset to be the same.

Only if they'd moved their accounting period as well and ensured they transferred their share to a promoted club before the accounting period ended. It's a *really* specific edge case scenario, which many on this thread are failing to grasp with comments like "this makes the whole set of rules unenforceable" which is utter balls

I don't think that's right. They cannot apply a sanction. Well, they're welcome to, but we're not competing in their competition, so I'm happy, on behalf of Leicester, to accept a 100 point deduction for the season 2024-25. Sheff Utd were allegedly due to get hit with a points deduction on their return this year for infringements related to paying (or not!) other clubs for transfers in their promotion year.

EFL can't touch us whilst we're in the premiership. If/when we get relegated, we will be facing an almighty sanction from them IF they can prove that we broke any of their rules.
