  1. I thought we were trying to sue Everton ourselves when we went down and they avoided punishment which could have made the difference? Might as well throw Forest in the mix while we're at it. Pic related
  2. Feels like the footy equivalent of getting letters from TV licensing. We have the telly, but they can't prove we used it to watch Doctor Who that one time. Even if we did, we watched it on iPlayer at our mate's house down the street, so it's him you need to chase, not us. Besides, why would we just roll over and pay something we don't need to, that will just go into the pockets of predators?
  3. Doo doo doo Football in a loophole
  4. They both stayed up despite the points deduction last year, and comfortably so. They've done it once without breaking a sweat, no excuses am i right? It's not like they only managed to do so because the promoted teams were more like lottery winners than professional clubs.
  5. I'm fine with that, so long as we can scrape through this one and one or both of Everton or Forest sink in the process. A year's EPL income plus what I hope will be a slashed wage bill could be enough to secure our club's future financially, regardless of whether or not we ultimately end up back in the Championship beyond 25/26. It looked far more precarious than a lot seem to realise given the impacts of relegation and the looming spectre of the MacQuarie loans. Had we not been promoted, we could well be talking about administration and worse right now.
  6. They're welcome to try it. From everything I've read today, they're more likely to tweak the wording to close the loophole we exploited than they are to scrap PSR outright. Wouldn't be too worried about Leeds coming up anyway, league looks stronger this year and they've already spaffed points against Portsmouth.
  7. I'm sure Neil Warnock is seething in his armchair tonight, by the way
  8. Got a lot of salty Forest and Everton fans on the various xitter threads about it already, they are rather rattled by the realisation that if they're found in breach this season we've effectively just been given a 6 to 8 point bonus that they couldn't possibly argue for themselves.
  9. A few on here called it at the time. And it would appear it was exactly what it looked like. We're guilty as sin on the face of it, but we have played an absolute blinder by bending the rules in our favour. Someone in the board room is blasting Baggy Trousers full volume right now.
  10. Quite surprised Bristol City let him go, he's always been a pretty consistent performer for them
  11. Reality kicking in for Chelsea I guess. Restricted mostly to potshots against a fairly average defence despite bossing possession. As we saw plenty of last season, they're all fart, no shit. Which begs the question - @The Bear what were your lot playing at last week?
  12. Page 83 of this thread is where the entertainment starts for anyone who wants to feel better tonight https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/everton-2-3-afc-bournemouth-sat-31-aug-3-00-pm.120302/page-83
  13. Actually the worst ref we've had down here in multiple years. Zero control of the game, cards for dinner and baffling refusal to consult his fourth official/VAR. Think we played well regardless of the result - Ayew was everywhere.
  14. Got Pedro in the dream team from this one... and Rice.
  15. He scored 8 times last season? I admit I paid zero attention to the Prem while we were gone, but that sounds like a reasonable return. The way people have been talking about him made it sound like he's on Akinbiyi levels of hopeless in front of goal. Good luck Odsonne, welcome to the madhouse.
  16. Saving this for the inevitable Fofana / Mahrez moment in a couple of seasons (or next Summer if we go down)
  17. Nah seriously no jinxing it folks, I'm not getting excited about a player with supposed flair until I've seen him play a few times. Fool me once...
  18. I'm not saying he's gonna be a world beater, but I always played as Morocco on International Superstar Soccer Pro on the PS1 and won the world cup beating everyone 9-0 along the way. Double hat-tricks every game or he's just a shit Mouhoub.
  19. Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Rudders.
  20. GIIIIILLLLETTTT
  21. Some good ties going on at the minute, mad one in Cardiff.
  22. YouTube stream says it starts at 10:20pm
