  1. Everton scored, season over
  2. I like that he scored a goal and also looks like the sort of chap who would bore you with a tale about his runner beans over the garden fence
  3. got me a jord-on watching that back
  4. This place doing a predictable 180 now we've lost a game,
  5. I know Ayew isn't the most popular signing ever, but it's fairly obvious he'll be the one to replace Vards. If the plan is to go for hold up play and bring the wide men in to feed off him, we'll see both him and Mavididi on the pitch by the end.
  6. Unrelated but I hope they stock Kamikaze Lager in the concourse, that's a good drop that is
  7. Bring back the Barry Hayles chant for Jordan
  8. He's here, he's blue, I guess he'll f***ing do Ayew, Ayew
  9. Good luck Jordan, what's done is done, rough 'em up
  10. Nice little video from Vizeh.
  11. John mate, get off FoxesTalk, you've got an invoice from Palace to pay
  12. That Fulham game was the final nail in the coffin - after a bit of promise and improved performances, Smith took us there and decided to play peak Rodgersball against a team well-known for pace, pressing and overloads at the time. We got absolutely destroyed. I'm hoping it will be very different this time - second half on Monday was definitely the blueprint. These are no mugs though, and will be looking to respond after performing well but coming out with nothing against a jammy Man Utd. side. We'll have to stay switched on and ride our luck a bit, then aim to play through their lines like we increasingly did against Spurs. I'd take another draw but this is winnable with the right application.
  13. Chelsea are a glitched FM save that somehow got isekai'd into the real world
  14. Sigh *upvotes post from a year ago* Think you'll have to go digging before the Championship season began to really make the point though. A lot of us could already see Vestergaard was better than we'd given credit for by a month into last season.
  15. It will make for some fun arguments with stewards about the 'no alcohol in sight of the pitch' law. I wonder if anyone tried it with the Guinness Zero on Monday?
  16. Good lord, I'd honestly rather have Ayew than Sargent. Absolutely stunk up the top flight last time with Norwich, one of the worst forwards I've ever seen at that level. And this was with a side that had blessed us with Van Wolfswinkel a few years earlier, so he had quite a low bar to limbo beneath. Even if he's improved his game, it's a pass from me.
  17. This is the year
  18. Kingy in the rain on Title day.
  19. Think space cakes are more his thing, wonder if there are any Dutch clubs interested?
  20. I think the more impressive stat is that he's done it in every one of those Manager's first games too. Not sure you can count Stowell as he's had multiple stints as caretaker (Stowell and Powell dream team was a good'un), but it's only KDH under Maresca that's broken a streak stretching right back to the day he was signed. He couldn't do it under Sir Nige because he was signed by him the summer after his mid-season return, of course. I guess if we wanna twist the stats we can just pretend the Championship doesn't count, in which case he's scored every single first Premier League goal under a new gaffer for the past 20 years. Which begs the question of why Mickey Adams wasn't snapping up the promising youngster from the Sheffield Wednesday academy.
  21. The floor for players to make the step up isn't as high as people think anyway. If the system suits him he'll be capable, especially on last night's showing. His skillset and habit of ghosting into goalscoring positions reminds me a bit of Andy King, and despite people saying the same about him ad nauseum he was still a regular for us for 3 years in the top flight. It was only the move to possession footy under Puel which for right or wrong exposed his shortcomings. If Cooper thinks he has a part to play, he'll feature. We're going to need to graft this season and Kasey does that in spades.
  22. Holy shit that would have been an early contender for our goal of the season on GW1, did not appreciate it in the ground at the time! And here I was thinking we were going to lose the intricate play under Cooper.
  23. Itsy bitsy teeny weeny Bobby Decordova-Reidy you're welcome
  24. Oh, another thing to add to my earlier bit about players leading by example and raising standards - there was a point towards the end where we got two corners in a row and Winks' decent near post delivery wasn't attacked for the first. Harry went absolutely mental, basically ran twenty yards to yell at the lads to make runs and attack the ball. Was good to see.
