  1. Ehh, I'm from up that way and unless I've missed something every club is dealing with the same conditions. Preston are practically next door and they were able to finish their game no problem. Last I checked Blackburn doesn't have it's own unique microclimate, they're just failing to maintain their pitch properly because they're owned by skinflints. Maybe it's all those holes the Beatles were singing about. Now we know how many holes it takes to get a game called off.
  2. .
  3. Steady on, just because Bouba turns it on once every 2-3 months doesn't mean he's not a lazy bastard the rest of the time
  4. They need to start fining that cowboy Venky (or whoever is in charge now) for lack of standards, twice in two months when the rest of the league has been fine in similar weather is a pisstake.
  5. Quietly having a decent season to be honest. Class finish today as well.
  6. It's just what he does, Frank
  7. Saved his skin by growing a pair, dropping poison players and setting us up on the front foot. More, please. 👍
  8. I get we all love JJ but Skipp really deserved his name singing today at a few points. Even just an 'Ollie, Ollie Skipp' would go a long way to show some appreciation when he puts in a shift like that. Even Jannik got a round for god's sake
  9. Who'd have thought he would end up being the Spurs cast-off we actually like
  10. It's for this reason that I'm delighted that it was Vesty partnering Nelson today. Jannik has plenty of faults but I do not want Ben sharing a pitch with Faes at any point for the sake of his development.
  11. The uptick in effort levels with no Faes, Winks or Soumare on the pitch was as clear as day, for the record. It's a damn shame it's taken until his job was hanging by a thread for Marti to find the blueprint. Even other deservedly-maligned players stepped up without those shysters around them (Thomas, Vesty, ESPECIALLY Skipp). It's almost like there really are bad eggs in the squad. I'm not going to declare this the turning point in our season yet, but well done to Marti for finally doing what the fans have wanted all season. Seeing that many academy lads on the pitch at the end was a joy.
  12. I'm dangerously close to falling in love with Ollie Skipp. I'm sorry for calling you a spud on legs - you're a very sweet potato and I'm going to pretend you cost £5 million from now on.
  13. As if I feel optimistic @hfaes in tatters
  14. 'Thirty years and you've won f*** all' 'Champions of England, you'll never sing that' Got it, cheers
  15. Why would he need a helmet when he already is one?
  16. I admire JJ's confidence, but those words fall flat when you realise he's already been relegated to League One with Birmingham. We as fans aren't blind, the comparisons with Maddison's comments two years ago are there for all to see. As a certain goat once said, 'chat shit, get banged'. Just don't let Jordan take any penalties.
  17. The presence of @hfaes puts this thread in the hall of fame. Truly an all-timer, you don't even know but you're going in the same history books as Nicky Maynard, Preki and 'my mate is the ref tonight' While you're here, what do you do for Christmas in Belgium?
  18. Marine AFC for me. I'll even forgive them their plastic pitch since the players give a shit.
  19. Well, must be mad but I'm going to this one. Truth be told I'm catching up with a mate from Alfreton after the game I've not seen in years, wouldn't have bothered otherwise. Gotta ask myself why I bother when the match - a local derby at that - is an afterthought.
  20. imagine him bringing out the "weak people feel pressure" line in the current environment
  21. Anything that increases the likelihood of Forest going down is fine by me. Speaking of which, come on Burnley, pull your finger out!
  22. i love this forum
  23. Well, that was comfortably one of the weirdest nights of football in a while,
  24. scores as many in 15 in-game minutes as our entire front line have all season
