It can be but the way football is at present it isnt, Ive watched some absolute rubbish in the Premier League this year, obviously a lot of it has been us! However, very few games have made me think that was entertaining. Actually some of the championship games despite being technically inferior are better value for money. I think there is always going to be a bit more excitement and anticipation over say Sheffield Wed vs Sheffield Utd as a fixture, rightly or wrongly it may or may not deliver, like wise you may stumble upon Bournemouth vs Brentford and find it a good watch, its just not traditionally what the armchair fan is looking for. Actually Brentford are quite a good side to watch. -
I just don't feel he is what we need to build. Unless we want to change the style to hoof again, the club have spent ages persisting with passing/possession. Which has been our demise. He certainly isn't renowned for playing young players, which we need. We need a decent director of football first.

Im not saying that but what I am saying is that they generate more interest, no one is interested in watching Brentford vs Bournemouth, its not really a spectacle. Maybe it becomes one one day. What the Premier League is doing with PSR is basically fixing the league with these teams in it, they will never ever go down if the current structure remains. They originally got there under the merits of the pyramid system which is fair enough, they are kept there by Sky Sports money. The league is really broken. I don't think there is an opportunity for this kind of thing to happen again under the current structure. I would be immensely surprised if Leeds stay up or if we ever do again under the current set up. Obviously a lot of this is due to our own inept management as we should have been part of this closed shop. -
Who knows, we were on an upward trajectory with Pearson building a structure anyway. I think it required someone to spend a bit of money, but King Power did nothing special really. If anything their obsession with tippy tappy DELAYED us as the put Sousa and Sven in before bringing back Nige to do the job properly. They have always had a weird vision. Top is no different.

I don't think the club would want a bloke who specialises in HOOF, its just not the Rudkin way. I dont think Dycge is what we need, we maybe needed him 6 months ago, but not now. We need a long term plan of what kind of players, style and recruitment we need, we need someone to develop young talents from this bloody academy not harvest decrepit donkeys out to pasture. For me Dyche is a short term fix.

Couple of League cups is it Charity Shield? Still more than Bournemouth and Brentford though. There are unsuccessful clubs who I think have more about them just because of the players/history etc. Like Stoke with Matthews and Banks, they've never won anything except the League Cup. We are one of the most successful clubs in the past 30 years, however we somehow managed to piss that up the wall. -
No, I dont want him here. Absolute donkey.

That's fine they have tradition, history, pedigree. Realistically Bournemouth and Brentford and never won anything and probably never will with the current structure, they are just there to make up the numbers in the cartel league. -
Not exactly confidence filling what a shit shortlist.
-
I would rather him than Dyche horrible archaic manager.

Jesus wept Id rather keep Ruud than Dyche honestly

I think historically we've done more than Brighton, Bournemouth or Brentford and we have been in the top 2 divisions longer. Produced greats like Banks, Shilton, Lineker etc. Whether the world is correctly informed is a different matter. -

Thing is I agree with this but we are now 2/3 years on and the club hasn't learned, they are still doing the same things with the same people. Thats my problem. I absolutely agree the league is corrupt and the rules are stupid, they are designed to stop clubs challenging the big six cartel. -

I dont think it does survive anymore though thats the point, they are there because they happened to get promoted in a period that allowed them to become established, now unless they completely cock up they wont go down on merit as they will be light years ahead of any promoted side financially. They don't have a divine right, and I don't mind them getting there but generally a sustained period for a 12000 capacity club would be fairly unlikely.. The ability to have a competition that is decided by Easter would generally be more interesting. -

I think this is a fair assessment. People expect instant changes, managers and players need a good 6-9 months in my opinion to start to make a real impact. The constant swapping puts us right back at the start of the process again, the fans will expect instant success, thats assuming the club can bring in someone half decent. Who to say whoever they bring in is going to be any good either. Its difficult because it has been shit, but he's been dealt an incredibly shit hand but on the flip side, bring someone new in they have to assess the situation, look at players, back to square 1. I imagine Rudd already knows who would be part of his plans. The club absolutely does need a strong hand too, even if thats going to upset a few cry babies, theres a soft as shit culture that needs removing. A general lack of accountability and pride playing for the club. I dont really care if he hasnt come to clap the fans as they have mostly been crap too. -

The reality is though you expect the top league to be made up with Bigger clubs, and people watching want the history and prestige to be part of that. That's why the Saudi League cant just buy up all the best players, people fundamentally don't care about some fixtures. Over history we have spent quite a bit of time in the top 2 divisions. Until a recently Brentford and Bournemouth didn't. Fair play to them they are well run, and its great for their fans but realistically Sheffield Wednesday vs Sheffield Utd for example is always going to be a more entertaining spectacle. -

Rudkin was appointed that year, but he cant really take any credit for that first year, a lot of the structure and philosphy that won the league was started in motion back in 2008. Rumour is Pearson thought he was a massive ****. -

We literally won the league operating in exactly the model we should use as a club our size, then for some reason, not long after Rudkin's arrival as DOF we decided wo spunk money on absolute mediocre shite. We have been doing that for years since. It went down hill from the likes of Musa, Slimani etc. Over time we have wasted a phenomenal amount of money and have absolutely nothing to show for it. That is a complete failure of the senior leadership at the club, they cant blame anyone else for their ineptitude over 5-10 years,. The fact that Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford, smaller clubs than us, one with an 12000 capacity can exist sustainably proves they are the failure. -

I think the club is responsible over paying bad players big wages, paying over the odds for bad players, and signing players and managers with no real thought process for how they fit whatever structure or philosophy we have. Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Fulham, Palace can all meet PSR with seemingly no issues. We clearly have a huge problem at management level. I dont agree with the rules or the fact that Chelsea blatantly get away with taking the piss, yet it is possible to be a well run stable Premier League team for a club our size. -
The whole lot of them got lucky. It was nothing to do with Rudkin that we won the league. Nothing to do with King Power or Top or Vichai. They got lucky during a period of time, thought THEY were the reason for success when it was a combination of factors, most prominently the good structure set up by Pearson and co, Ranieri's man and media management, then later the decent young players signed by Puel who Rodgers got to perform for a period of time. Other than that they have always been clueless.

Yet we can afford to pay Eduoard to do **** ALL for a season. Pure Genius from the CEO and DOF -
I think the real issue is that no decent competent manager would want to come here because we are run by inept clowns. These 2 muppets are realistically the best we can get with Rudders in charge of Football Operations.
