  1. We're actually going in a loop.... No matter whether its a normal summer with everything going swimmingly or a disaster class like last year, it is to be expected that not much would have happened yet or until the end of the month. Players are on holidays, our new manager needs to have many, many meetings with the recruitment staff to determine priorities of current player movements, not to mention meetings with players themselves that are not easy when they are still on holiday. Rudkin and Top going to the races for a week means nothing either, as their roles aren't required at this moment. Basically, if everything was fine and dandy, it would look like this. If everything was heading up sh*t's creek, it would look like this. There's no way of knowing what's happening until they tell us, so there's no reason to panic or fear the worst.
  2. Why would he be off to Saudi?
  3. If this is true, then I'd imagine Thomas will be moved on this summer, with VK and Giles competing to play, as both are quite aggressive LBs suited to the Wing Back position. Thomas is also one of the players out of contract next year, and I can't imagine the club are in a rush to get him to sign a new one. Basically, yes. It confirms nothing new, only comments on an existing rumour and what it could mean for a player that the Danes actually care about.
  4. Seems to be about VK's competition rather than compensation.
  5. 'VK' out in the cold? Leicester chasing replacement According to Teamtalk, Leicester have English left-back in their sights. Victor Kristiansen had barely landed in England before he was thrown into Leicester's starting line-up, and the Dane got off to a flying start in the Premier League. A lengthy injury lay-off and a change of manager meant that the former FCK star had to share playing time at left-back with Luke Thomas for a while, and now there could soon be even more competition. According to English media outlet TeamTalk, newly appointed Leicester head coach Enzo Maresca is keen on young English defender Ryan Giles. The 23-year-old Wolverhampton player has spent the last year on loan at Middlesbrough, where he has been a regular in the team sheet and helped the red-clad side from the north of England to a place in the semi-finals of the Championship Playoff. Giles now returns to Wolverhampton after a year in the second tier, but could reportedly struggle to secure a place in the Premier League side, who will have to tighten their budget to comply with Financial Fair Play rules. As a result, Wolves are eyeing a sale this summer, with relegated Leicester reportedly keen to make a move for Giles. Football League World reports that Giles is likely to get a place in the starting line-up at Leicester should Maresca decide to throw money at him. This could send Victor Kristiansen out in the cold, who has played well in the 14 appearances he has made for the Foxes. The Danish defender joined Leicester from FC Copenhagen in January for around DKK 145 million. Kristiansen's contract with the Midlands club expires in 2028.
  6. I put that post in word for word in ChatGPT and got this: "One player who might be less likely to be chosen for a tattoo could be former Leicester City player Ade Akinbiyi. Akinbiyi had a relatively short and less successful stint at the club from 2000 to 2002, and he struggled to make a significant impact on the pitch during that time. While he may have had his own set of fans and supporters, his overall contribution to the club might not be seen as significant enough to warrant a tattoo for some fans."
  7. Nah, that can't be right, not while Luke Thomas is on holiday...
  8. That's just an update article. Tanner was the first to say that we were seriously considering Maresca.
  9. I hope he does see it like that, because while I hate to admit it, there's a strong element of truth to all of that. But that's a mentality issue, and part of what is meant by needing someone who knows how to properly using Seagrave. There is no problem with a club mentality that you should be higher than they are, that's a way to breed confidence, but at the moment the sense is more like Seagrave is a holiday camp and that needs to change. This is an element that I hope Maresca can recognise and deal with asap.
  10. Who do you think you are kidding Mr Maresca?
  11. If Maresca is the manager, keeping hold of Iheanacho would be massive. He trained in the Man City environment, and he's always been more of an all rounder as opposed to an out and out striker. In a true Man City style system, Iheanacho can shine.
  12. The positives are that he's been Pep's understudy for the last year and has been a City Group coach for a couple of years. He managed the Man City 23s to their first ever league win. As a City Group coach they have a system set up where they all share advice and help each other out, and while he would likely no longer be a part of the official network after leaving, he would still be in contact with everyone, including Pep. As for football style, he would likely set us in a style similar to Man City, but probably tweaked a bit to his preferences and based on the players we have. With the under 23s he would have experience working in such a system with players that are not at the top of their game, and should be able to transfer that over to a young championship squad that is expected to be one of the best in the league. As for our rebuild, his experience in the Man City youth system helps again, as he would be able to advise on particular targets, as well as help secure us some good loans from Man City, as it would benefit them greatly to send us their prospects to play in a similar style, with a manager they know. The negatives are that he has only had one proper managerial position, at Parma, where he joined at a similar stage as we are in, and he was sacked after 14 games with a 28.57% win rate. So as a relatively new manager with that disaster in his past, he is a massive, massive risk.
  13. If there were any proof of anything we wouldn't all be such hysterical messes...
  14. I usually scoff at the idea that a manager will bring with them loans from a specific club, but in this case, Man City would see us as the perfect destination for their prodigies. Seagrave, a manager that would likely play an identical style, who managed the under 23s for them last season, at a club that is expected to be the favourites in a real league. I'd never suggest hiring a manager just for the loan prospects they could attract, but it would be a hell of a bonus in this specific case.
  15. So had Stowell and Sadler until they didn't...
  16. I really am not buying the continued Potter links. It's either a yes or a no from him, and I see no reason why he wouldn't have given a clear answer weeks ago. The others we've been linked with all have reasons to wait. I'm wondering if we're Maresca's second choice, but Celtic want Brendan over him. I think that when Celtic announce their manager, no matter who it is, the dominoes will fall and we'll announce either Maresca or whoever our second choice is, hopefully Hutter.
  17. Enzo Maresca is Italian for Scott Parker!
  18. Iffy source but it makes sense. Why disrupt everything and move when you're settled at a team in the same league? There's benefits of course, but not enough to pry him away from Ipswich.
  19. My cousin's mate just saw the new manager at the training ground. He says we're getting Dwight McNeil as a player manager!
  20. The head says Hutter. The heart says Maresca. The desire to see this place eat itself alive says Parker.
  21. Has someone been testing my theory and stuck £50 on Rafa?
