I think that's exactly it. I don't rate Ayew's ability as a player, (as with everyone else with eyes), I don't even think he comes across well in interviews, but his attitude on the pitch is pretty great, in terms of work rate and the way he interacts with the other players. It's just a matter of if it's worth having a Bard in your DnD party that contributes absolutely nothing to the team but adds a +1 to everyone else's rolls...

We need to bring in a creative mid in, so that we have another way to unlock the deep block we will see a lot of, but tbh, I think I want to see Ayew starting in that position. He's been doing a lot over the last few weeks when it comes to directing our attacks and firing the wingers and Page up. Getting that same effect on a front line without him being the focal point could be huge.

Why are they the ones pushing for an option to buy? Surely a loan with an option to buy is always in the buying club's interest, whether they expect to use it or not? It's a try before you buy deal.

Begovic was brought in to be a player coach in all but title. I highly doubt he is ever expected to see a minutes play time.

Yeah, this is what I've been saying. With the system we have, the individual striker doesn't really matter. It's the profile that's important. As long as they are a strong target man type than can win aerials and has good positioning then their individual skill doesn't matter as much as it would otherwise. We just need someone to be able to capitalise on the work that our wingers are doing.

Could also be that we're looking to bring in a player comfortable playing on the left to play a left sided CAM role. Or we want to relieve some pressure on Monga by allowing him to play more central, where he is supposedly stronger. Or we plan to play Mavadidi more central. Or none of these links have any weight to them whatsoever just like most of the rubbish journalists spout. We can't make any inferences based on heavily unreliable and incomplete information.
