  1. Are we giving them a discount for Barnes and throwing Choudhury in for free?? Glad it's not you at the negotiating table...
  2. He certainly doesn't have a career in punditry in his future, that's for sure...
  3. I know, I completely agree, just making a cheap joke haha
  4. Perhaps a bad example when we lost that game
  5. Just speculating, but perhaps the issue isn't the asked £10m for Doyle, but the budget for all of our other targets. It's expected that we want to make another 4 signings at least, and if the offer to sign Doyle on a short term loan is there in a deal that would save us ~£8m now, then it would make sense to take that offer now and have a higher budget for the remaining signings. I suspect that blaming FFP for every budget related decision is becoming a very easy way for journalists to explain nuanced situations with an acronym that most don't question further.
  6. The man has one unlucky game, (one own goal from an admittedly bad decision, another from an unlucky rebound), despite playing very well throughout the rest of it, and he's poison to some people. Faes's positioning has been great despite that generally being a factor that gets better with age, he's usually in the right place making crucial tackles, and he launches most of our attacks when he's on the pitch. This is all a case of people making up their mind and only seeing the worst in a player after that fact. Confirmation bias runs rife with football fans. If he stays at the club and plays in the Championship, there's going to be a lot of humble pie to go around, as he would be one of the best defenders in the league.
  7. That would explain why Congerton's new club is apparently our biggest competitor to sign him...
  8. There is but he's only recommending a player called Tetekeshi.
  9. Can we ban posts from J please? His made up tweets don't even count as rumours.
  10. It isn't
  11. That's just the northern accent
  12. Perez. I still think that the hate he got was a result of the price tag. He was positionally a very good player, fantastic when off the ball, good awareness and was capable of hitting the net. He did however get bullied off the ball a lot and misplaced a fair few passes, which is a lot more noticeable than his qualities. I'm not saying he's the best player we've had or anything, but I'd go as far to say that he's been one of the most effective options on the right wing since Mahrez left, only really competing with Lookman.
  13. J strikes again, I'm hanging on to every word!
  14. In an interview with BBC Leicester yesterday, Guilliam Balagué, a journalist who knows Enzo personally, said that his general personality is of someone who finds it very difficult to stop talking about subjects he's passionate about, and commented that in the press conference he did seem very reserved and controlled. He believed that Enzo was specifically trying to watch what he said, and not say too much on any topic this early. He knows that the wrong word this early on could have unintended consequences in both the press and the squad. He also said that speaking in a second language would be a big factor too. So it wasn't just you, he was a bit uncomfortable during the press conference, but not for any of the reasons you believed.
  15. Regarding expectations, I know the BBC Leicester guys get a lot of stick on here, but I can't recommend yesterday's When You're Smiling podcast enough. The episode titled "The Enzo Era Officially Begins". You can skip the initial discussion about the press conference, Winks and Coady, I recommend it because of an interview with Spanish journalist Guilliam Balagué, who has followed Man City very closely and knows Enzo personally. This starts at 15m45s. Of particular note is a section where Balagué interrupts Owynn to ask his own question: "You talk about expectations to play like Man City (...), but do you think people are actually expecting the same kind of superiority, style, consistency of delivery that Man City do?" After Owynn's response that amounted to saying that we hope to see elements of a Pep team emerge in our play, he then says: "Let me tell you that they are going to be let down, because you do not have £100m players." The interview continues on as they discuss the slow nature of trying to create a team that can play in that style, how it took Pep time to create a Man City team that preformed how he wanted, how players like Graelish come in and take over a year to adapt and learn this new way of playing, and Enzo's time in Parmo.
  16. Yeah but he won't be playing all 46 games will he? I didn't mean to imply that he's as fragile as Evans, just that there will need to be rotation, and Souttar would still have a place in the squad.
  17. XG is flawed, and it attempts to quantify performance of an individual in a very fluid and team based game with many factors it cannot take into account, but it's a very good metric for getting a snapshot of a player's form. A lot are taking these new stats as absolute gospel, which is ridiculous, but it also cannot be ignored as a good objective metric to take into consideration.
  18. Sounds like a better option would be Faes on the right with Souttar rotating with Coady. Coady won't be starting every game.
  19. This is unintentionally comedy gold. You do understand that this xg metric bollocks is a statistical analysis of what a player factually does on the pitch, right? You're arguing that your subjective opinion is worth more than measurable fact.
  20. You could have said the same about Everton this time last year too, and yet they ended up in the same situation on the last day. They are an absolute mess behind the scenes, and Kenwright is sticking around. I don't see the situation getting any better there. As for FFP, we know nothing will happen to Man City and their army of lawyers, but I'm not so convinced that they won't try and make an example of Everton.
  21. He seemed to have no issues implementing that strategy with a group of kids and Kompany did it last year with Burnley. It can 100% work.
  22. If Faes stays, and with only one year at the club I'd be surprised if he didn't, I'd expect him to start in a back 3 with Maresca. I know some have questions about his defensive capabilities, but for the most part he was solid, and his ability to pick a pass is being massively underrated. When he played he tended to start most of our attacks, and was not afraid to go forward with the ball. I think he'd be considered a key player of a Pep-style strategy.
  23. Seems like a trustworthy ITK, I don't know if it's the single letter name or the lcfcdotcom that does it, but I find myself compelled to believe everything they say.
  24. Can someone help me out? Who's job is it to hand out the envelopes with Vestergaard's name in it?
  25. The Daka-Haaland comparison is an easy one to make, considering that they played for the same club, in the same team of players, in the same system, in the same role, and Daka's numbers were only just shy of Haaland's. It's more than possible that his poor performances have been down to us assuming that he's a 1-1 replacement for Vardy, giving him instructions to play exactly like him, at a time when we've not been playing a system that benefits the actual Vardy.
