I think you're lost, this is a Leicester forum

I agree tbf, I've liked what I've seen of Souttar and VK has looked good if not anything amazing.
-
I'm not so sure of that, since both were players that Rodgers had claimed to want. He wanted a tall defender that wasn't a tree for CB, and a Left back that could be effective on the overlap but wouldn't commit too hard so he could track back fast. I'd say that Glover got Rodgers players in the exact profile he wanted, it's just that what Rodgers wanted wasn't particularly specific or useful in all systems. So far this summer, with a manager with a defined system and extremely specific profiles in mind, Glover appears to be smashing it.

OH Leuven Pre Season Friendly Match Thread
Verumex replied to Lcfc-1992's topic in Leicester City Forum
I know it sounds all sugary sweet, but it's an event that I think a lot of fans would enjoy, and make preseason a bit more entertaining with a bit of community and rivalry. Plus a potential European away day every other year -
OH Leuven Pre Season Friendly Match Thread

Honestly I'm shocked that this fixture has been so low key, it's the same as last year. With this being an annual fixture I'd love to see the "Vichai Cup" established. For all we laughed at the Bass Charity Vase the other year, it was a great game, and added a sense of occasion to what is essentially a friendly. Alternate between here and Leuven each year, ticket sales go to local charities in the areas of both cities, and build a proper sense of community between both clubs and fanbases.- 187 replies

Hermansen. Goalie kicks to Striker, Striker scores, other 9 players run around causing interference. It's the perfect system.

I'm not sure how "I think Iheanacho is great" or "It's not a matter of viewing alternatives as better options" isn't entirely clear that I think Nacho is the better player, but I guess that doesn't matter, at least we understand each other now. I feel like having a saleable asset next summer is better than not having one, and I don't think any competitive edge Iheanacho would give us would be worth it, when anyone we get in will still be good at this level. I see it as spending unnecessary money for marginal gains when we're looking at the squad as a whole, especially when we'll be looking at another rebuild next year when we're hopefully promoted.

Which I've already said I agree with... Are you being dense on purpose or are you just not reading my posts? Serious question, not trying to be rude.
-
I didn't say he was. I said that option B was for Piroe or a striker at a similar level to Piroe.
-
The big question though is what would we rather have this time next year: A. Iheanacho who is out of contract and leaving on a free B. Piroe or a similar level striker with 2-3 years still on contract. I think Iheanacho is great, and a player that has been misused heavily over his time at the club, but if he's not planning on signing a new contract, then it's time for him to leave. It's not a matter of viewing alternatives as better options, it's a matter of not letting us be in the Tielemans situation again simply because we're sentimental about a good player.
-
Woah, wait! Are you telling us that we can sell players other than Barnes?! WHY HAS NO ONE TOLD THE CLUB THIS??! They should really look into this revelation, what a great strategy that would be...
-
It's ridiculous! All these other clubs and the media are treating us like we're in the Championship or something! Completely disrespectful.

I recommend watching the highlights, as our formation looks very strange when you're not familiar with it. It's very fluid with some players transitioning between positions during play. It's almost as if we're playing without Fullbacks at all, with Ricardo playing CM and pulling back into the LB position when out of possession. Likewise Doyle was playing CB in attack but RB out of possession.

£14m isn't even the amount we got this summer from the Fofana deal, let alone the Maddison money. Not to mention that our lack of spending last summer was done on purpose in part to fund a rebuild this summer. I think you're grossly underestimating our budget.
-
Not really, I think they did similar stuff last year when certain players weren't in the squad for friendlies.

What are the chances that he actually does have a minor injury that will stop him passing any medical until he recovers one week after the transfer window closes?

Post match: Cobblers 0-1 Foxes (friendly)

Out of current players? Iversen (Hermansen if he signs) Ricardo - Faes - Coady - Kristiansen Winks Praet - KDH Albrighton - Nacho/Daka - Barnes Obviously there's issues and question marks about that. Vardy is best as a late sub option against tired legs. It's absolutely up for debate who is better in this system out of the other two, as at present we haven't seen enough to make that call, and they each offer different skills. Barnes isn't likely to stay, and we 100% need a replacement. I'd be happy to see Marcal-Madivadua play as a rotation option, but not as a starter. A wide left player is needed, I don't buy Daka there at all, he always looks out of position. Similarly, we need a wide left player, as Albrighton gives his all, but work rate isn't everything in a technical system like this. I like Castagne as a player, but he did not look great in that position at all imo. Faes was good I thought, if still getting used to the system. A few unforced errors due to him forgetting that Ricardo wasn't to his right, but that should be a teething issue. That said, while technically Castagne and Justin can play this role, it's not their natural position, and I would like to see us get someone else in to sure up numbers just so Faes isn't the only real option. That and there's a chance that Faes is sold. Praet was decent today, as was McAteer, but we definitely need someone more creative here. Another CM is needed. I think after today our shopping list is clear: - Wide right forward - Wide left forward (If Barnes goes) - Creative CM - Right CB - Goalkeeper (assuming we haven't already got one.) -

If this game has shown me anything, it's that Ricardo isn't going anywhere. He is integral to this entire system, and there's no way Enzo let's him be sold. Add on to that the amount of attention our social media has been giving him, and I think it's already been decided that Ricardo is staying put. -
Ok, hyperbolic I grant you, but he's still pretty damn good.
-
I really think he'd be an astute signing for Luton. A cheap option, hungry to prove himself, and an incredible shot stopper who can play in the Premier League. Not to mention that we have a good working relationship with Luton, after the KDH loan and the Justin deal.
-
I know this is sarcasm, but couldn't we tell from the preseason friendlies that Iversen was the correct choice? The penalty shootout in the first cup game definitely made it obvious.
-
Sounds like his form depends heavily on our tactics at the time. I'd be very curious to see how he plays in a Pep style system. It's a shame that we're unlikely to see that.
