Norwich get Kvistgaarden West Brom get Heggebo. I get depressed
-
I’ll happily take this. A return to possession based football, and he also has a good record of overreaching towards the bottom half of the table with QPR. Has blooded plenty of youngsters in his time too. Some concerns, but Yep, can get behind this.

In fairness, he did say he was 8ft 3 so the club are right to have doubts -
Order of preference for me is: Rohl Wilder Dyche O’Neil Surprised Carrick isn’t being linked if we are going down the “blatantly obvious Championship” option.
-
Norwich apparently getting Mathias Kvistgaarden for £6.9m Wonder if that means Sargent is off?
-
I’m just done with them…amazing how they’ve gone from supportive and engaging to well meaning with poor decisions to just complete apathy. Starting to show all the hallmarks of some of the really shit owners in football.
-
So the news is…we’ve done some interviews. 100% given out by the club to give the impression we are doing something…on the 7th of July shambles doesn’t even begin to describe it
-
Kyogo will be brilliant at this level. I would have loved us to be in for him as obvious he wasn’t staying at Rennes. Not the kind of transfer you make money from but he will fire in 15+ goals. Brum looking serious
-
Looked like a Ricardo/Winks double pivot again too. Evans looked brilliant around the 3:20 mark. Agree with what people are saying on here about Aluko too. Abdul looks like he’s bulked up his upper body too.
-
All reads excellently until you get to Martyn Glover having a more prominent role. Have we considered appointing someone competent?
-
One of the best things about Rohl being linked is our squad really suits his style of play. Think we could get away with just needing a left back (I like Keita Kosugi at Djurgardens, suits Rohls full back profile, also think Luke Thomas could easily start for us). another option in central midfield, I’ve mentioned Tyler Morton on here before and was understandably told everyone’s thoughts on him, but he was class for the U21s last night. Charlie Patino could easily be bought in from Deportivo too as that move just hasn’t worked for him. then it’s all on to an attacking midfielder and a couple of centre forwards. The 10 is a difficult one for me, but think Richard Kone massively suits what Rohl seems to want in a striker. I also really like Kasper Hogh and Aune Heggebo playing in Norway. Insterested to hear some names for those positions from others on here. Especially on the Attacking Midfielder, only person I can really think of is Jamie Donley
-
Wasn’t there noise we looked at Windass? To me, the only one at Wednesday that Rohl may look at.
-
I have no issue with us seeing a turnover of successful coaches. With the shelf life of coaches these days, it’s far better than having to pay them all off
-
Attraction to Danny Rohl is he seems to have a nice “balance”. Not overly wedded to an identity but does like high pressing attacking wing play, however, he’s shown at Sheffield Wednesday he can also effectively set his side up as a counter attacking unit. Would be good for both promotion push in Championship and fighting relegation in Prem. A few questions yes, but for me the leading candidate by quite a distance
-
With training starting on Monday, they either did it now, or had a PR shit show on Monday when players returned with no manager. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a financial timing decision, we don’t make those, it’s why we are in the shit
-
So it genuinely was just about us waiting for Polo season to finish?
-
Definite dark horse for the job. Horrifically streaky record at QPR but did a good job overall. Would suit our squad too I think.
-
Not quite “who do we need”, but “who might we look at” and I’m very much thinking of this if Dyche comes in. Fully believe the stories that he brings in Begovic and Keane. Harry Toffolo would make sense at left back, steady enough player. Richard Kone to play alongside Ayew up top, Kieffer Moore as another option. Probably another AM too, but I don’t see more than 5 or 6 coming in, and that’s with an expectation that 7-8 leave.
-
Problem with Dyche is that he’s completely right with a lot in here, but his alternative is utter dross. I actually think if he takes us this season, he will probably play the best “football” of his coaching career. The squad will force him into that. I fear for our youngsters though and if we got promoted he would be both our best chance of staying up and utterly horrific to watch. I don’t mind us bringing Dyche in, I can understand the attraction but think there are some far better candidates out there.
-
So what have I missed this week? Looks like it will be Dyche and probably Michael Keane to be first signing? To be announced in the next couple of weeks? anything else?

Remember being hyped to see us play a Man Utd reserve side containing Jonathan Greening -
Appreciate he’s not a popular name on here but Tyler Morton looks set to leave Liverpool this summer, and could be a really good pickup for a championship club wanting a combative midfielder.
-
I wouldn’t class him as a dinosaur, his Sheff Utd side were pretty inventive in their use of wide centre backs during their Premier League run. Just because he’s northern doesn’t mean he’s backwards.
-
This. in truth the manager decision should just be someone that trusts young wingers to play with freedom.
