Anderson would've bowled a wide line and at least frustrated the openers. It's one thing giving Hartley confidence and throwing him in, but then not even give him any protection is ridiculous.

Tough for a spinner on debut to open with a brand new ball. Even India had 2 seamers to bowl the first few overs. Couldn't afford India to get off to a quick start.

Seeing the problem of not scoring as quickly as we have done. Score doesn't move anywhere and then you get out. Glad we've not gone full baz ball and lost wickets recklessly but need to keep scoring.

Difficult for Yunus to impress when he gets 10 minutes at the end when we are generally not interested in scoring because we are either seeing out comfortably or hanging on. But then it's hard to justify he should be starting anywhere. Big opportunity for him to get an assist on Monday if he took a bit more care with the pass (at least I think it was him) He should start this weekend and he really needs to impress. Play him as a more traditional 10 behind Vardy and I could see that potentially being effective.

Stokes isn't fit to bowl so it makes it more bizarre. Surely has to be 2 seam options.

Concentrate on getting a couple of good loans over the line and then reassess in the summer. No point taking risks on players at this pont unless you are sure it's a bargain.

You can guarantee it won't spin now. Bizarre to go with spinners plus Root when he could easily be the third choice spin option and have another seamer. India only produced the spinning wickets last time because they lost the first test.

Granted I've not seen too much, but barely seen VAR used in the AFCON. Algeria about to go out, 11 minutes stoppage time for some reason to save themselves.

I didn't see us intentionally holding on personally, but the fact we are struggling to see games out is a worry. Just not creative enough.
