Really good day for England, brilliant from Pope. Shame one batter couldn't go bigger in the first innings because we'd be well on top now. Can't see our bowlers being good enough to win the game but you never know with a bit of scoreboard pressure.

What kind of shot was that from Pope Some days it will get him out but gets so many runs with that switch hit.

Obviously not scored enough in that first innings but don't think the batsmen have been bad, most have got out to devent bowling. Really disappointing bowling effort though. Wouldn't be surprised to see Dan Lawrence come in as an extra batter who can bowl if it's another spin friendly wicket next time. Always nice to spot a Leicester shirt in the crowd.

First time I've caught any TNT coverage, no studio analysis or anything? As expected really, just not good enough in all areas to really challenge in India. Good to see Pope get some runs, always looks a good player if he can get through his first half hour.

Anderson would've bowled a wide line and at least frustrated the openers. It's one thing giving Hartley confidence and throwing him in, but then not even give him any protection is ridiculous.

Tough for a spinner on debut to open with a brand new ball. Even India had 2 seamers to bowl the first few overs. Couldn't afford India to get off to a quick start.

Not fantastic given you won the toss and bat first but around 250 is at least competitive. Just depends what we can do with the ball.

Seeing the problem of not scoring as quickly as we have done. Score doesn't move anywhere and then you get out. Glad we've not gone full baz ball and lost wickets recklessly but need to keep scoring.

A lot of pressure on Rehan at 8 in this side. Frustrating to see some starts but noone has gone on.

Wasn't an alternative then though. Be interesting with Vardy back, Cannon doing OK and Iheanacho coming back too to see if Enzo does go Daka. I think he should, but I'm not convinced he will.

Not sure Enzo sees it like that. I'm probably wrong though.
