  1. Firstly political will is needed to address the housing crisis. We need something akin to The Homes For All policy used to fix the dire state of the country at the end of WW2. If the situation was treated in the attitudes that exist today I doubt the programme of rebuilding would have taken place.
  2. I think there are many who would be only too happy to be "stuck" in a council house in the current housing crisis
  3. I would guess some people begrudge the thought that council rents are affordable. Missing the point that the well being of our neighbours is vital for the country. The pandemic proved a lot of people do worthwhile jobs that don't pay well .for example Care Workers. Just think while someone is earning a good wage someone else is looking after their elderly parents and so on.
  4. The loss of just a few pay days can land a lot of people in serious trouble. The mantra of a new Labour Government should be Council Housing Council Housing and more Council Housing. Currently we are going back to the bad old days of Rackman and the like
  5. I suggest following Daniel Hewitt of ITV to see how working people who are not mentally ill or junkies are made homeless every day.
  6. I'm concerned the number of people evicted through no fault of their own that end up in awful temporary accommodation or homeless. Many are in work and contribute to society
  7. Same ref at the Liverpool match at Spurs!
  8. I know you are joking and if only it was a choice
  9. Very well put and the legacy has lead to millions of people facing a bleak or at the least a very uncertain future that should concern us all.
  10. Don't worry you ain't a Solitary Man. I'm a believer too
  11. No doubt the government will be pleased as it reduces scrutiny
  12. Tempted to go and see it though trailers and reviews have tempered my initial enthusiasm. For any looking at back catalogue The Duellists is still amazing
  13. The housing crisis was not a factor in the 70s. This is a major factor in why so many people in our country feel left behind
  14. Can't help but think if this was us or Saints etc the so called shock at the points deduction would be of less consequence for football media machine and so on
  15. Not a BBC show
  16. If you have not seen The Woman In The Window with Edward G Robinson please give it a go.
  17. Have you seen Battle Of The River Plate
  18. Love a film noir
  19. Whitty said first lockdown was late. Bearing in mind what was going on in Spain and Italy this seems right. Even most football closed down before lockdown and football authorities are not regarded as forward thinking paragons of virtue.

    Dogs

You say he is a big unit and looks intimidating. Look at it from the point of view of other people or dogs you come across. I would suggest this is enough to confirm he should be on a lead and possibly with a muzzle.
  22. Take your point over 2014 still a bit frustrated that the Everton punishment is this season rather than arrived at when last season ended and applied then
  23. Is it true that Hamas do in fact love death as quoted and quite prepared to sacrifice anybody be it friend or foe to pursue their fanatical aims
  24. Seems like as Ashworth didn't vote as they wanted it would be an easy option to throw the race card at him
  25. I would go as far as saying the tea cakes are a poor version of wagon wheels
