  1. Scored against Derby in League Cup last week
  2. Exactly this. Even in a different division seeing him playing for a Palace or Sunderland etc is too close for comfort. Playing for a less fancy Italian team seems ideal
  3. Perhaps he fancied a sojourn in Italy for various reasons. Good luck to him
  4. I daresay a lot of people in Italy hadn't heard of us back in the day
  5. I'm sure Fulham will be placated
  6. I actually prefer he has decided to play in Italy
  7. I'm sure he has considered what is best for him and the family
  8. I remember years ago the ref was miked up. Tony Adams called the ref a cheat. David Elleray the ref booked him. Said you can call be useless but don't ever call me a cheat. This is sort of line I would use.
  9. I do agree refs need some protection regarding their integrity and personal security etc. I don't think a manager should be afraid of sanctions for saying officials were useless though.
  10. The bringing game into disrepute makes me laugh when the officials do that every week. Seems you can lambast the PM and the King but careful how you go in football
  11. That managers have to be careful of their after match comments about referee and Var decisions for fear of punishment. As long as they are not abusive etc surely it is against freedom of speech?
  12. They shouldn't use slow motion as it exaggerates out of context the natural movement.
  13. Seem to remember he suffered a bad injury after a Scott Parker challenge
  14. In a gentle good for your physical and mental health sort of way the garden can be addictive. Love seeing birds and pollinators. In a tiny way nice to help the environment in our patch.
  15. I retired at 65 which is four years ago. The job wasn't exactly brain surgery but had quite a few pressures. Not missed it at all although did miss the friendly people I worked with. Spend a lot of time looking after the grandchildren which is lovely though probably harder than work ever was lol. Nice not to be answerable to bosses and awkward customers. After working nearly 50 years happy to step aside. The garden certainly gets more attention these days
  16. I note that Trautmann's skipper at Man City was a British army veteran who said "there is no war in the dressing room" Perhaps that should be the attitude today.
  17. I wonder what the views would have been back in the day when Bert Trautmann joined Man City.
  18. Sorry no. Have a quick look on Bentleys Roof
  19. Martin Samuel has a powerful article about us and PSR carve up
  20. Ah yes I remember the A35. My uncle's mate had one. I think we can be thankful for modern safety despite our fondness for the looking at the past.
  21. Not much evidence of health and safety with those blokes riding on back of the lorry
  22. Not a great fan of Kelly Somers voice and need a break from it ( hasten to add not anti female presenters) Also prefer results read in traditional classified manner
  23. See BBC have managed to butcher the classified results on Final Score. I know results are available before this and elsewhere but another example of something changing for the worse.
  24. Picking Soumare reminds me when as kids the last (because he is the worst player) has to be selected because there is nobody else
