I think the policy is directly responsible for the housing crisis. Quality housing at a reasonable rent was the purpose of council housing. Now we have vast numbers of people having to pay much higher private rents and forced to claim housing benefit which goes to private landlords pockets.

As far as defence is concerned Churchill was probably right when he said speak softly but carry a big stick. Assuming there is a collective need for Nato then we can't expect the US to do the heavy lifting without spending from the other countries.

No but many of the older boomers had parents that were seriously affected by the war and this impacted them albeit indirectly.
