  1. Did we though? I thought when Fofana got crocked basically the day before the season started we pretty much signed whatever centre back with a bit of experience was available. Very much an emergency signing.

    Pizza

There’s loads of different makes - we tried one once that was surprisingly ok. But yeah, most not great.

I think you’d have to yank really really hard - dogs seem to be tough as old boots in my (admittedly not enormous) experience.
  4. What, all of them?
  5. It’s probably mutual. Libs and Labour seem to hate each other, and argue with each other, far more than the people they should be concerned with, like tories and fascists (although the difference between those two is blurring somewhat).
  6. I completely understand where this wish comes from, but really, when it comes to actual scientific fact - or the best we can get with the information we have - the proper, transparent, referenced, peer-reviewed research findings are the only angle. To step back and look at science from a different angle is to step away from science altogether. Science isn’t about weighing up different people’s opinions and finding some sort of balance. And yes, of course the scientific consensus might be totally wrong. But a) it’s a lot less likely to be totally wrong than any given individual, and b) it if is found to be wrong, it’ll change.
  7. Looks like I have your three stone. Want them back? I don’t want them.
  8. But that isn’t (or shouldn’t be) a problem. Of course the experts will change what they say as new evidence emerges. That’s exactly how science works, and how it should work. What was said a year ago was the best interpretation of the situation then, based on the evidence then available, what is said now is the best interpretation of the situation now, based on the evidence now available. If there are differences between them it doesn’t necessarily mean that either is wrong (although it is possible that either or both could be), because the situation now was not the situation then.

Lots of praise and treats whenever she walks next to you without pulling (if she ever does!). Stop whenever she pulls, and wait a bit before walking on. This needs a LOT of patience as you’ll probably be stopping all the time, especially at first! Some trainers say you should turn round and go back in the house as soon as she pulls and that she’ll get the message that she won’t get her walk if she pulls.
  10. Phew! We’ve all been very worried.

    Pizza

I’ve found very much this at different outlets of The Red Lion.

    Pizza

Stuffed crust is an abomination and doesn’t deserve the name ‘pizza.’
  13. Surely the real problem here is having an ‘honours’ system in the first place. The whole thing’s daft.
  14. Eh? They don’t evolve ‘to do’ anything. They just evolve. The virus doesn’t know whether it’s deadly or not. Really? Get a grip.
  15. I have a theory that anyone who uses the word ‘narrative’ in discussions of coronavirus (or in fact probably anything, except literature or films) can probably be safely disregarded.
  16. The virus is what’s most likely to be coming for the unvaccinated. Probably a new variant, itself made more likely by the fact that not enough people are vaccinated. And maybe not all the variants will be as comparatively undeadly as Omicron.
  17. Unfortunately, it isn’t. It helps to spread doubt and mistrust of ‘experts.’ Why some people want to achieve this at any time, never mind in the midst of a pandemic, lord only knows, and I dread to think. But they do.
  18. Good luck with this.
  19. Oh, don’t be so bloody daft.
  20. (very subtly) fixed this for you.
  21. Let’s hope it is good news that no new restrictions will be announced today and not bad news that no new protections will be announced today. Time will tell. Fingers crossed.
  22. Cards Against Humanity really is a ‘try before you buy’ game! Loads of people enjoy it; probably just as many absolutely hate it.
  23. Ymmv, of course, but I wouldn‘t bother with Risk - it goes on for ages and isn’t really that much fun. Try Small World instead - shorter, and much more fun!
  24. You’ll figure out Ticket to Ride no problem. Carcassonne’s another good one if you’re just trying board games out. Also Pandemic, which is good and topical as well…
  25. If you like quick two-player games, Jaipur is fantastic. Short, easy and fun. Targi is a bit more complicated if you fancy a two-player game with a bit more depth (but still not too complex).
