  1. Nonsense. Real fans never leave the ground.
  2. Isn't it as much the fault of the people whose job it is to stop the other team getting close enough to block the kick?
  3. Bed time. See you all in a year.
  4. Well in the end I'm pleased. I don't like the Chiefs much, but the waves of hatred towards them because of the Kelce/Swift nonsense ended up making me want them to win.
  5. Yep - when you're on top, you have to take the chance to win it. And then actually watching the ball when the other team punt it is probably a good idea too...
  6. I've heard a lot more Tay Tay than I would have through choice, and while most of her stuff just passes me by, a few of them are actually decent catchy pop songs.
  7. Has she done something to upset you? Stole your parking space? Mocked your cravat?
  8. ok, Mahomes might be quite good...
  9. Exactly this. Does it really matter who Taylor Swift wants to win? Anyway, Paul Rudd's a Chiefs fan, and who doesn't like Paul Rudd?
  10. Proud winners of Premier League XXIV
  11. They do, but do they do that when talking about the past? Wouldn't people say Lee Trevino won in 1971 rather than give the number of the Open he won?
  12. Oh, for sure. But it doesn't help me to know when it was, if someone starts going on about 'Superbowl 43' or suchlike. Why not say 2009 or whatever?
  13. Well I don't honestly get the impression it's likely to be his dazzling intelligence she finds attractive...
  14. Does anyone else find the way they number superb owls instead of simply labelling them by the year they happen a bit annoying and very unhelpful?
  15. Don't be daft! Someone you hate when he plays against you, but you love to bits if he's one of yours? Someone opposing fans hate and give stick to but they love every minute of it and give it right back? And a really good player? What exactly is the difference?
  16. Yes. But only in much the same way Jamie Vardy is...
  17. Social media. Definitely a good thing. That man's wise words might never have been heard without it.
  18. I just clicked on the first page of this thread by mistake. There were some very negative and pessimistic people around back then. I hope at least they're happy now that they were so wrong!
  19. This is what I always say to my wife to be honest. Last sentence only, just for clarity Different strokes for different folks... I go for patience and control, working my way across the back, retreating and advancing, advancing and retreating, then I attack like lightning when she's out of position.* * To clarify, this is not an actual description of my technique, which actually involves a lot of fumbling and clumsiness, but is at least mercifully brief.
  20. It's lucky for all of us! But of course if he did do it in a crucial game the mistake itself would be no worse. But I'm sure many of us have been lucky at times - eg on the road when we've made a daft mistake but there fortunately wasn't anyone in a position to crash into us. Maybe the thing to take from it all is that we shouldn't all be so ready to lambast people for making a mistake...
  21. I fear we're never going to agree! Getting the second yellow wrong doesn't ruin the game any more than getting the first one wrong does. If either are wrong then the red is unjustified. Why should a red for a second bookable offence be any different than a straight red? Because the red isn't for the second bookable offence! It's for two yellow cards, both of which contribute equally to the red.
  22. Well I did say it's not easy to defend the people who don't get it...
  23. From memory (which might be wrong) wasn't this what happened when Jon Moss sent Vardy off against West Ham? The second yellow was probably fair enough, but the first one was very soft.
  24. Because it isn't a red card decision! It's a yellow card decision. Yes, a consequence of the decision to award a second yellow card is a red card, but the decision itself is not a red card decision. And as others have said, the second yellow doesn't cause the red any more than the first one does, so you either review all yellow card decisions or none.
  25. Exactly this. Free up real houses for real people. Imagine Clarendon Park if instead of students it was filled with a mix of young couples, old people, familes with kids...
