As they should! Time spent on FT is never time wasted.
-
Well if they've had a look on FT they'll have learned that Seagrave is a vanity project and a total waste of time, and that our entire club is a hopeless basket case from top to bottom, staffed entirely by clueless morons, so...
-
That's potentially a fairly big 'if' though. Also, I doubt Man City players live at the ground. They probably all live in Cheshire, so they're halfway to Leicester anyway. Otherwise I agree.

Leicester Vs Liverpool - Match Thread KO 10:00 UK Time
Phil Bowman replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
It gives us a chance to see players doing whatever they might been asked to do in a practice match. We don't know what that is, beyond whatever we might try to guess from watching, if we really wanted to watch for some reason. It tells us very little about fitness and even less about confidence, because it's a practice match the result of which means absolutely nothing. Whatever the result is, it means absolutely nothing. -

In a pre-season friendly, yes, it means nothing. The embarrassing thing is being bothered about what happens in a pre-season match. -

This place is hilarious. 1. It's a pre-season friendly. Not a real match. 2. Unless they live nearby and never get to see Leicester play, why would anyone ever bother watching a pre-season friendly? 3. Absolutely nothing about it matters except whatever it is they're using it for, and we don't know what that is. -
You keep disagreeing with things I'm not actually saying. I said I believe there are some people in the world who, if they got wealth, wouldn't keep wanting to get more regardless of where it came from. I've never said that anyone doesn't want wealth. I'm just criticising people who are richer than Croesus but just want more and more dosh no matter what.

I don't believe I was acting in any such way. I just said was that these footballers are greedy. I'd say the same about any ridiculously rich person who clearly just wants even more money. But - I do believe there are some people in the world who if they got richer than most people could ever even dream of, wouldn't just want more and more and more without caring where it came from.
-
If you've been a successful Premier League footballer for the best part of a decade, you've already won your lottery ticket/lifelong pension. Wanting yet more is just greed.
-
It's almost as if the only thing he ever gave a shit about was money. Even now he's rich beyond most people's wildest dreams, he clearly just wants more. Same goes for all the multi-millionaires heading off to Saudi. F**k the lot of them.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that YouTube documentaries are just the place to get reliably high-quality analysis and explanation of important stuff.

I would imagine they meant losing him to injury, not his being transferred...

Is this necessarily true? Surely a behind closed doors training game with players putting in ninety minutes of effort would count more than a half-arsed public friendly with different teams in each half? If you, or anyone, want to be angry, then be angry (although it isn't good for your soul). As long as you don't criticise others for not being angry, be as angry as you like as far as I'm concerned.

People keep saying this as if it's some kind of fact. It really isn't. There were six clubs operating in a different league to us financially. Now there are seven. Without having a country or an oligarch to pump money in, the chance of any club competing for trophies regularly is almost zero. A club that competes for trophies briefly is doing well. Never mind a club that manages to win some of them. Maybe it's more of a "there's eff all I can do to affect what happens so there's no point gnashing my teeth like a spoilt child when we're not doing well" attitude. Just let other people get on with supporting their club in their way, and you get on with supporting your club in your way. If you want to be unhappy about how we're doing that's up to you. If they don't, that's up to them.

True. But used the right way in the right team what he is is an excellent if unspectacular player. I have no idea if we're planning to be the right team or use him in the right way, but if we are (and I can see him working well in the poundshop Man City we might be) then we should keep him. If not, not.
-
Exactly. If we're going to judge people on having a disappointing season last season then we'd write them all off, including such as Tielemans and Vardy who we know can be brilliant. New manager, new teammates, new tactics, who knows what could happen. And that goes for absolutely everyone in the squad, even including players like Vestergaard.

That's just inflation though. His price tag suggests he's fifty times as good as Lineker, and that's ridiculous. He's thirty times as good at most. I'm here all week.

There's no point in setting impossible targets...

The second bit of this is true. The first bit of this is utterly ridiculous. -
I dislike review systems such as tennis and cricket have. For various reasons. In cricket particularly one reason is that the idea of conclusively showing what would have happened (ie lbw) is ridiculous. More generally because the review system can end up with it being shown clearly that a ball was in/out, or a catch was out/not out, but because the reviews are used up a blatant mistake has to stand. Either use the technology to make the calls, or don't. Personally I would lean towards 'don't' although it's clearly here to stay. But if that is the case then just use it for everything, and bin the review system.

It's DRS that needs binning.
