Fifa to explore impact of moving domestic matches abroad
Chelmofox replied to Langley's topic in Leicester City Forum
Poorly phrased by me. How do i support my team when they play an away day in the US? It's a ridiculous idea made worse by tourist fans thinking its great they once went to a game somewhere abroad. Football is nothing without the fans support. -
Fifa to explore impact of moving domestic matches abroad

So let me get this right. You think it’s reasonable to expect me to fly my family to LA to watch wolves away? -
Been covered before i think. Its not his house - its rented.

Just scored for Denmark.

Not massively, but he did get some decent games in. Didn't he pick up an injury though, and then we were pretty stacked in CD.
-
That game a a touch of the Plymouth vs Leicester when we lost 1-0. Although at least we could say we were away that day. 1 shot on target at Wembley. Ouch. Iceland played well to be fair, and low blocked most of the game but when they attacked it was always with intent. I don't think we are going to get low blocked at the Euro's (much), so not going to read too much into this, but it is disappointing.

Sums it up perfectly. Wherever he goes i think its likely he scores goals early on and this forum will be fill of posters wondering why we let him go. Consistency has been a big issue for Nacho, and if he wants to succeed somewhere else that is something he is going to need to address.

Don't think the poster is really informed on what Alves / Braybrooke went through this year. The majority of the season was for their physical recovery, and i am sure the mental side of having to deal with the layoff also had to be a consideration. They've then had to be reintroduced to light training the then back into the full training and being able to work with the squad. As you saw with Alves, he had a secondary injury after being reintroduced to the U21 which is something that is very common after returning from an ACL. It would have been lovely to have seen a cameo or 2 from them, but their recovery was the most important thing. People can chuck many things at Enzo if they like, but this isn't one of them. Get them in early preseason and get then both ready and hungry to succeed.
-
But he was for there for 2 seasons. Why is he magically going to get better?
-
Alves and Braybrooke spent most of the year recovering from ACL's!!!!

Not one to be driven by what the Bookies odds are, but the Betfair Exchange market has change considerably for the Brighton job. You could lay Potter at evens yesterday but you can only back/lay at 9 now. Not a lot of liquidity but 13k has been matched, compared to 1k in the Leicester market. If you think Potter is nailed on to get the Brighton job you can do worse than taking the £29 at 7.2 and the £13 at 9.2. Would make you a few hundred quid.

They will be selling.

Yes - winning a trophy should never be underestimated. But look at the teams they got in the knockout stages. Would have loved those in our run in rather than PSV and Roma. But you still have to do it. But right now, i would be focussing on managers recent league records, not their cup runs. I'm never going to say Moyes is a bad appointment. I'm just contesting this view that he is some sort of 'safe pair of hands'. I think that is as lazy as saying Brendan was elite and we were 'lucky to have him'. In the PL- last 2 seasons, for one reason or another Moyes has really struggled. The 2nd half the season just finished it cannot be underestimated how badly West Ham performed. But West Ham are being dressed up as some plucky minnow, when in fact they have spent like a top team and Moyes had far better resources at West Ham than he is going to get here. He had resources that he should have been doing better with, especially defensively. I fail to see how this translates into keeping us up - i see it as a red flag. Of the 3 names banded around this forum, he's 3rd choice (Corberan, Cooper then Moyes for me). Its odd because my favourite is the one who has no PL experience at all, which might be the reason he isn't considered. I prefer Cooper over Moyes because i think you can make a case for Forests' leadership being a barrier to him kicking on. Moyes was backed sensibly, and i don't think he delivered.
-
They leaked 74, only beaten by the bottom 3. Man U had one of their worst seasons since the PL started so comparisons are tenuous. Letting in 74 not through exciting football, but playing back to the wall almost scared rubbish that quite rightly annoyed their fans. West Ham ended up on -14 GD with a far better squad than Moyes is going to have here. It’s hard not to look at the last 2 pl seasons as massive underachievements with the resources he had.
-
The phrase 'Plan B' is a completely overused cliche in football. Fans generally mean it in a 'just do something different to what you are doing now'. Coaches and teams train to specific tactics (event the Dyche's of this world), and more often than not if you started playing a PL team with tactics you had not trained towards you are going to be in big trouble.
-
What clubs? The Brighton link is tenuous. And we never know how much of that is just agent talk.
-
Which is why i want Corberan. But, in fairness to Cooper, Forest Net Spend came from a base of next to nothing.
-
Look at Moyes form 2nd half of the recent season. Look at last season. Horrific, with far, far, far more resources. This isn't the safe pair of hands people are pushing. Its someone who underachieved with what he had at his disposal.
-
No he's not. Huge net spend at West Ham (even with the Rice sale), far better players than we have and horrific league form for 2 seasons. Hows he going to cope with far worse players and nothing to spend?
-
That win was against Cooper as well
-
For me, if Cooper gets us relegated then he is finished in top flight management, so he has to make this work. I think someone like Moyes would always be able to get another job no matter what. Forest connection doesn't bother me, his inabilty to win away is the massive concern.
