  1. I agree actually. Felt like the strategy was to stretch their defence as much as possible and when he does this is seems to generate more space for Mavididi and Fatawu. Vardy was able to come on and play an impact role. Really depends on how we think Birmingham will setup. If they park the bus, i wouldn't be starting Vardy.
  2. All this presumes that KP group can still be bothered with their plaything. Languish in lower leagues and revenue depleats very quickly. My question was somewhat rhetorical anyway, as the poster was saying it would all be fine as we can spend year 1 rebuilding in the PL. If we don't, and get points deductions in the Championship, things could look very bleak for sometime.
  3. Our club ownership settle for no PR anyway, so i bet they wouldn't care one way of the other.
  4. And what if we don't get promoted. In my opinion, its as likely as us getting relegated last season.
  5. Brighton sitting 1 point ahead of Wolves and 2 ahead of Bournemouth - this isn't great stuff for supposedly a brilliant team. Few times i've watched them its been pretty average, although they have had their moments. Not inconceivable they could finish 12th this season. I suppose the PL and its favourite 6 clubs will continue to bang on about them whilst they are willing to carry on being a feeder club for everyone else (which the top 6 seem happy to pay a premium for - its a win win for Brighton and the top 6). But if Roberto De Zerbi wants actual success then things might start to look different. Been a bit of lining him up for Liverpool but if not there he will have to go somewhere else. Unless of course, they decided to 'tweak' that model for a season or 2 to try and compete. PL is an unforgiving monster. If they get their offloading wrong and suffer a few injuries, or replace De Zerbi with someone who doesn't quite work out, they can drop to where Brentford currently are next season. Its happens all too easily and when you get sucked in its hard to get out.
  6. She is Chief Executive. If not directly responsible for footballing decisions that got us in this mess, she is still accountable for where we are. If she doesn’t have the skills to understand the impact of the financial decisions made, and if she cannot understand the clubs forecasts and how they related to ffp, or if she has no power or influence for the club to behave appropriately, then she is a problem. The only logical conclusion I can make at this stage is that she understood everything and rubber stamped it. If everyone else was behaving beyond her wishes and authority, then surely so would either resign or be removed from her job?
  7. We should replace the monks with McKenna.
  8. You seem like a decent choice - im in.
  9. They will be fine this year. Probably the next accounts you want to keep your eye on.
  10. Can't do that Saturday im afraid. Gotta beat the rush back home.
  11. Baring in mind its highly likely that's who they met (or one of his staff), do you think that's an appropriate way of handing the comms?
  12. The problem is how you deal with Salaries, rents and Debt. All assets and liabilities still have to be accounted for. If KP decided tomorrow that they didn't want any of this anymore and wouldn't make repayments on that debt, how long would it be before the club goes out of business. Its all well and good saying let them spend what they like, but the problem is when they decide to actually stop doing it.
  13. 100% agree. Its why I was interested in knowing who is met. Representatives of the trust would definately have to tread carefully for sure.
  14. Isn't one of the issues with football anyway that wages aren't linked to player value at all. Wages are linked to what is agreed in the contract signed between you and the player over the set period. So someone like Vardy has next to no resale value because of his age, but could easily take 100k a week salary. Chelsea sign Fofana for 70 mil and has barely played due to 2 serious injuries. Potentially his value has now plummeted but his wage will remain the same. Contracts, Salaries and fees are just weird in football
  15. If you don't mind me asking, when you say you 'met with the club', what does that actually mean? Do you actually get to meet any of the board or do you meet a separate representative? Its great you have a dialog, but unless that representation is with someone remotely responsible or accountable you are just going to be fed 3rd hand information.
  16. No Brussell!?!? Presume Enzo doesnt make because of the poor form of late. KDH will win the player for sure, but doesnt deserve it. Will do wonders for his sale value though.
  17. Sounds like they want 1 person to try and do everything from collecting information, budgeting / building / managing and maintaining data infrastructure, building and testing out models and then reporting this information back to the non data people. These things have to be managed in teams. If its a very senior role then you would expect that role to report to the DoF but you wouldn't be expecting that person to do all those things, you would be expecting the job description to be about building out an exceptional data unit to provide this information. Data modellers etc you would expect to report to the technology leadership.
  18. Are Villa not walking this tightrope now pushing for that CL spot? Newcastle too arguably.
  19. I Work in this field (not football obviously!) So many red flags with the job description.
  20. He's been missing for the last 2 months (before turning up Saturday) ! No where near POTY. Madness.
  21. Fit(ish) bird with only one working leg and a slightly 'mardy' demeanor. I great 3 pinter, but you can't help but think somethings not quite right..... 30 mil is about right. Has periods where he is nowhere near good enough and doesn't have the technical ability to be consistently great. Was great against Norwich because we managed to stifle them, but has really struggled against the times who decided to play against us.
  22. The Brendan 'refresh' outburst is even more baffling. Really wish Amazon Prime were filming a documentary during that period.
  23. Good to see our fans on top on contract situations
