  1. And Bobby, Fatawu and Mavadidi. All these guys can make all the mistakes they like because they have experience.
  2. If we cut out mistakes then we get rid of Ayew and Okoli right?
  3. Any line up anyone gives looks horrible. If we had been playing 3-5-2, and losing every week, the 4-3-2-1 line ups would look horrible and be disregarded. My core issues at the moment: Mavididi is working hard, but has no output. Monga (although no longer really in contention), hasn't had any output since earlier in the season. Fatawu is 'easier' to defender against with physical well drilled defenses. QPR always doubled up on him without fail, and matched him for physicality. He gets snuffed out and then gets frustrated leading to him mistakes. We get overrun in midfield. Teams seem to have the full run of the pitch sometimes, because we dont have the bodies there. Teams counter as with ease, largely because we have no one who can win the ball high up the pitch and they seem to have the whole midfield to counter in. We arent inverting like we used to, but Riccy does still drift and leaves us very exposed. Our formation and tactics (continued desire to play out of the back) puts huge pressure on the defence and keeper. We either play slow, wandering bozo 1, or fast but no skill bozo 2 up front. Its not worked all season. There are times where i think our front 3 are the worst in the Championship, and we have no midfield. I cannot believe another system is worse than this. By the way, i am resigned to the fact Rowett wont change the system.
  4. Cos the seniors have nailed it right?!
  5. We arent winning this. Not a chance. Go do something nice for the weekend....
  6. What i love about this, is that we are shit in the current formation. Yet we cant change because we 'might' be shit. It reminds me a little while ago of a poster telling me we cant play Aluko because he cant play the 'Ricardo role'. Ricardo cant play the Ricardo role, what ever that is?!? So whats to lose?

  8. Oh I agree. I’ve posted several times that I’m astonished Rowett is just doing the same thing. I’m not sure he’ll do it just to accommodate Souttar when he could have already done it.
  9. We played with 3 CB. Are we going to do that to accommodate Souttar?
  10. I never saw that previously for Leicester. He fell out of favour with Brendan, Smith and Enzo pretty quickly. There is nothing to suggest that he fits in to our (misguided) system and changes anything.
  11. Everyone wont be fit. Souttar hasn't played for about 1.5 years. He doesnt just slot in an everything is magically ok. There appears to be significant issues with Lascelles fitness, and he stood there watching goal after goal go in against Southampton. Cant wait for Vesty to come back, and for people to remember he cant jump and cant run, gets beaten by players 1/3 his size, and spends most of the game standing on the ball. This is all coupled with the coaches strategy to play a high line (see the equaliser against us Saturday). Our CB situation is desperate. The only option we haven't seen enough of is Lascelles who has been suspiciously absent during a period where Okoli literally pi55es himself every time the ball comes near him, and a period where Nelson and Jakub needed experience around them. Thought Skipp and Aluko played quite well there the games they had .....
  12. It also aligns with JJ injury. Working out PPG stats based on single players is flawed.
  13. He's not the solution. He's just another wrong answer that isn't currently playing.
  14. He played his part in many lost points from winning positions and is slow, slow, slow. His habit of slowing the play down and all attacks coming from him stifled so much play. He's not some sort of magic answer because he isn't playing. Our drop off it traced back to when JJ first got injured - not since JV stopped playing.
  15. Ah. The old not played for a while recency bias.
  16. I positive part of me thinks its Oxford and Portsmouth. But we have to work out how to start winning for that to happen.
  17. Okoli cannot control or pass a football. Its brain fart after brain fart. Nelson is effectively covering for him and taking on the duties of the CB who progresses the ball. He's effectively covering for Okoli. Its Nelson who needs the experienced head supporting him. Okoli needs putting in the bin.
  18. On rewatching it a few times I am unsure what he should do. I think in the Championship backing off was likely the right choice, as the striker still has a lot to do and Nelson was coming in. I do feel we shouldnt be playing the high line / offside trap. We dont have the experience to deal with it.
  19. Its still his first full season. All goalkeepers make mistakes. VIcario should have saved that free kick yesterday. 25 is young for a Keeper still.
  20. How the heck does Nelson get hooked over Okoli?!?!
  21. Yes we have. I'm not saying its the right tactic but its how weve been setting up with Nelson / Okoli. Vestergaard wont be able to play it.
  22. Do you think Vestergaard can play the high line and the offside trap that we have been playing?
  23. He f****d up massively for the first. The long ball beats the offside trap - Ayew should be pressing at first and Nelson should be aware of the danger and ensuring he either doesn't get beaten by either the player or forget the offside trap (there isnt a decent replay of this sadly). Nelson is then weak but Jakub is high up the pitch and gets caught out (he is high up presumably because of the offside trap). Flapping was the worst decision but he's obviously in 2 minds - if he comes out and clatters the defender outside the box he risks a red card, and if he backs off he is 1 on 1 whilst running backwards. The indecisiveness is inexperience but there are a load of errors before it gets to him still. Everything does drop perfectly for the attacker. Don't understand blaming him for the 2nd. Nelsons confidence had obviously gone to cheese by then but thats a massive brain fart on the defender. 3rd, there are 3 players around Okoli (1 holding him down which i didnt notice at the time). Poor defending from everyone. Im sure when Begovic is fit he starts, but he's still shipping goals for fun. This is the guy that just palmed the ball to a Southampton player for their 2nd not that long ago. Neither are an upgrade on each other, but i presume the experience in a relegation will make a difference.
  24. Home: played 19, 25 Pts Away: played 19, 19 Pts Not a lot in it. I think the suggestion we are better away is more based around that the team seem to sh1t the bed more at home right now.
