No matter what happens, he should be nowhere near the job next season.

Ok - im not buying the 'a good point' bollocks. Ipswich were really poor first half, and i think huffed and puffed 2nd half. If they were remotely composed they win that easily. According to Footmob, we had a 2nd half XG of 0.04. Thats not a good point - its bordering on incompetence. We gave ourselves nothing to work with - at all. We couldn't mount a single counter - couldn't hold the ball in midfield. We literally handed them back possession in a variety of comical ways (defensive headers!). This wasn't an Ipswich team head and shoulders above us. It's almost like the manager is instilling an inferiority complex into us. I come out of this not thinking of a battling team who gave it there all, but one who couldn't quite believe they came off the pitch 1-1. Simply terrible.

And Bobby isnt even the biggest problem. With Riccy, we arent even playing with 4 defenders.
-
This manager (rightly or wrongly) is going to focus on experience. Kids arent getting a sniff for the rest of this season.
-
Riccy (who was poor anyway) could barely walk anymore.
-
Yup. Regardless of the result today, it’s clear the managers we hire have very little to do with formation / setup.
-
Blackburn thumped us earlier in the season
-
And dropping those who offer us something.
-
Yup. Rudkin picks the team doesnt he.

Any analysis has to take our 10 game form into account. On Sheffield Wednesday is worse than us and our only win was against West Brom. And that was fortunate.

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!

I think if you want someone to do the running that Daka does then you bring on Silko Thomas surely? Can hardly complain that Silko's output is any worse. You just need someone with energy who can stretch the defence and press the keeper. Ayew wandering and falling over is an embarrassment. -

Surely the coaching staff would have seen enough by now to have advised Rowett this. And surely Rowett watch our previous matches? Boggles my mind this one. -
Just seen Riccy's interview quote come up on my LCFC app. 'We are dissapointed' WTF. He should be seething. And he should be horrified with how he is conducting himself as captain.
-
Riccy has been as sh1te defensively. Got to be a change in formation.
-
Actually, i think one of the issues here could be that Winks was doing too much, which i think got in the way of Mukasa and stopped him playing freely. Winks' heatmap:
-
Hahahahah! 2 days ago you got laughed at for saying they should be out of the team.

Were the performances really that different? Same setup for sure, and everyone seems to gloss over that Stoke 1st half which was appalling. And i do think Middlesbrough had done enough to win the game in reality. It did feel better, but i think we have likely over played it from a low base of being really awful. We should have won against Stoke - and the worst part is we gifted them 2 goals. Actually feel the biggest improvement came from not playing Fatawu But no, now i dont think there was much of an improvement really. I am not a football formations / tactics specialist. But i am shocked to still see us messing around playing pretty stuff whilst 1-0 day at home. And im shocked that the new manager is setting up the same way.
-
So that means he’s not done his homework. 👍

We used to say the same about Marti. He was often waving his hands to drive them up the pitch. If you start the same structure and setup, you give them the option to go back into their shell and default mode. But its the little things, like the captain first instinct to turn and go backwards, kick offs going straight back to the goalkeeper, players being unable to cross the ball (Riccy again!). Bringing on Jordan *****g Ayew who drifts around like a blind man who operates in a different sporting dimension. Its not just the energy. But if they players hadnt shown any energy this season, why were they all of a sudden going to start in the same setup? Nothing changed because Rowett set them up exactly the same way. Boggles my mind that he has taken this approach.
-
26 hours ago I was told he was undroppable after 2 draws.
-
Whilst I agree, its certainly ironic that Norwich sacked Manning after that game and are now safe and probably thinking about promotion next season. However, we've not changed anything since sacking Marti, and Rowett is playing the same system and has offered nothing new, as King did. Would suggest it didnt matter when you sacked Marti really because nothing was ever going to change.
-
So here is my beef. Whats the point of getting someone new in, just to play Marti ball still? I had some quiet optimism after the last 2 draws. However, my concerns were; we were largely playing the same system with some tweaks, and in both games our poor defending led to us conceding. Whats the ******g point of bringing someone like Rowett in just to carry on playing Marti ball? Yesterday was like watching us all season, with the same players doing the same stuff. It felt like nothing had changed at all. Rowett has a full week now with the team. Yet somehow all i think is we will end up with Riccy and Fatawu stinking the right hand side, an XG of 0.3, Ayew falling over for 25 minutes, Stephy looking depressed, CB's unable to defend or play out of the back, Skipp running around but without really being able to play football, and Winks looking pretty but with very little coming from it. Did Rowett really come into this thinking this formation and the reliance on the same principles was going to save our season?

Ipswich Town (A) Saturday, March 7 = 3, and I do mean 3, pm

Yes - i do, to a degree. Its well known 'how' top wants us to play. We've been setting up the same way for a long while now. I remember Ruud changing it once maybe (vs West Ham away?) in his time here. I think Ruud had limited say in a lot of things. I am a very shocked that following the Oxford game, we have been setting up the same way still with only minor tweaks here or there. Yesterday was the same albeit with Bobby on the wing (who was sh1te). I would not put anything past our ownership being dead against playing a back 5 under any circumstances.
