I dislike how we’re run as much as most but feeling sorry for Ruud doesn’t sit with me. I know that I don’t work in the football industry but if I wanted to sit down with my director and they were “ghosting me”, I’d do quite a few things to have this chat. Top/Rudkin are clowns but can’t help but think Ruud is playing to the current public disdain of them and got his PR mode out in full force. He’s been statistically one of the worst PL managers in history, surely he doesn’t expect to stay on.

I want Ruud out more than most but the Martin link just won’t go away will it? 🤮 Well done Top and co, making me question my love of football/LCFC for the first time in nearly 30 years.

I can’t keep up with the 28 pages but who would have thought that a model consisting of paying Coady £70k per week in the Championship was a good idea? We can blame the PL and EFL but we’re run by a bunch of inept clowns.

Ruud at PSV and here, has shown that he doesn’t know how to tactically set up a team to be more defensively sound. I genuinely can’t believe some of the stuff that I’m reading about Ruud on here, it’s like Ruud himself is on here defending his awful tactics and in game management 🤯

On loan though! I genuinely think he’s the perfect character for where we are. Getting him in on loan would be a huge upgrade on Edouard.

McKenna also got back to back promotions for a club that was arguably not ready for PL football. I think you’re spot on about comparing different levels of poo 😂

McKenna is a worse manager than Ruud? Not sure that is a thing. Dyche or Martin wouldn’t be my choice but particularly for Dyche, he hasn’t broken the record for not scoring in nine consecutive home games like Ruud.

There is definitely a player in there. He was extremely highly thought of at Brighton before his injuries and change of managers. He’s only 20 and can’t help but think with a run of games and knowing he’s your main striker, at Championship level, he’d be prolific and a traditional target man to hold the ball up for our exciting wingers (minus Reid).

Evan Ferguson on loan would be a great move for both parties surely?

I’ll repeat myself for the 100th time. Do we have a top 10 squad? No Is it however, a squad that should have broken unwanted records? Also, no. We’re the first top flight time in history to have not scored in nine consecutive home games. Defending that is madness surely?

You were saying about Stephy being injured but ignored the months where he wasn’t? Whilst commenting that Okoli is leaving so not starting whilst Faes/Soumare are both more likely to leave but started regularly, shall I continue? Please enlighten me about Ward being a better keeper than Iversen statistically though. I must have imagined how toxic the KP got towards Ward, which is clearly nothing to do with how awful he’s been for us 🙄

Or just ignore the obvious to suit your narrative? Stephy wasn’t injured when ignored by Ruud for months, when Ruud was trotting out Ayew and Reid consecutively (after nine back to back home defeats). During that time period, Facundo and Kasey would have been better options too. Okoli is leaving? Ok, so we don’t all expect Faes to leave after his comments yet he starts? Did you really make that comparison to Ward and Iversen, when 99% of people on here have likely stated at some point, that if Brendan dropped Ward earlier, we’d have had a realistic chance of staying up. If you’re going to play down the options available to Ruud throughout the season, at least be consistent.

When VK was letting players drift past him countless times at the back stick, annoying how long it took for Ruud to change it up and bring in Thomas. I have never previously been sold on him, but genuinely one of our very few bright sparks this season.

Spot on this. Yet the sentiment for Ruud in 2025 is “better the devil you know”. I disliked Cooper but have proper disdain for Ruud, he can’t coach and has shown zero humility/appreciation towards the fans with his fan boy style post match interactions with opposing players.

If all of that is the case, why do other new managers not match/break such hideous records? I don’t think either of us are going to budge on our opinion though mate.

The same attacking intent that saw us not score at home in nine consecutive games? How about get a manager who can set up clear patterns of play, improves a team defensively - both things that Ruud hasn’t done. Then we wouldn’t “keep sacking managers every 6 months.”

What is Ruud’s style of play? He doesn’t have one.

Come on now. That’s a terrible reason to keep Ruud, “what should he have done?”. How about when lacking any creative threats (look at our xG during those nine home defeats), to not name the same starting 11 that included Reid and Ayew when Stephy, Facundo and even Kasey were fit and available? I said it before, but will say it again, listen to Monday’s WYS with Dominic Wells (who surely everyone on here respects) says how tactically awful that Ruud has been.

All those words but no mention of breaking a football first record of nine consecutive home defeats without scoring. What has Ruud done well? Please don’t say bomb Jannik out of the squad, as every coach minus Enzo (in the Championship) has done that.

Interesting that people forgot how little fight and unwanted records that Ruud dished up. Playing against poor teams, when there is nothing to play for will be different to playing against poor teams with it all to play for. I still can’t tell you what Ruud sets up a team to do, awful tactician, hideous manager.
