I think Praet retired in 2019.

There's always the possibility that we could explore a loan to buy. Brightons forward options are much more plentiful now than when Ferguson broke through. And his stock has fallen dramatically. Of course, that's an indication that signing him isn't a great idea. It's probably worth exploring as our options at present are thin and by July are non-existent. Though if you were him, would you want to come?

Don't think loaning Alves was a mistake at all. Monga wasn't starting games at the beginning of the season and got in due to a combo of Mavs form and injury. But off the bench he'd have got the nod over Alves. I doubt Will would have seen much pitch time at all had he stayed and everyone would be bemoaning his lack of minutes saying he should have gone out on loan.

You not seen Newnew in the training videos?
-
Hearts pissing it.

Unless we switch to 3 at the back, which we probably should but doubt we will, I don't see Souttar getting a sniff.
-
It's annoying seeing loanees getting piss poor minutes.

He needs to sort that press out. There isn't one. You occasionally see a player rush an opponent and everyone else is just backing into our half. Be interesting to see how many forced turnovers there are in our opponents half. It's gotta be low.

Yeah, that's a bloody risk at his age!

There it is!

Scored, offside.

When speaking on potential new managers and how attractive we are, I think people are forgetting the massive issue we'll be having next season. Whichever division we're in. Currently it looks like it'll be the Championship. We'll be losing our only decent fullback in Ricardo. Our entire first choice midfield consists of 2 loan players, one which will go back to Burnley and one which we may not go through with a purchase of if we are stuck in this division. And Winks who will leave after his contracts up. We'll have no strikers on the books at all. Even shit like Soumare will be off. And whilst that might be a good riddance situation, we still need players and their departures aren't generating revenue. If we have to make some money our only real saleable asset for any decent fee is Fatawu. So in order to rebuild that side we'd need a hell of a lot of signings and that would probably come from selling arguably our best player. To stand still. In the championship. Vestegaard and Faes will have a year left and no real resale value, so we are probably stuck with them, and if not, we're not making anything on them. There's a case that some of those will be replaced by youngsters. Aluko for Riccy maybe. But then we're not replacing Thomas or VK then. Page for Ramsey maybe. So we need to buy 2 or 3 forwards and a couple of midfielders. We'll need to spend a lot of money, money we probably don't have, or get a lot of loans in, which is a short term solution. Promotion is pretty vital in order to bring in the money to reshape the squad. But without a goalscorer, and perhaps the opportunity to acquire one, I'm not sure many managers will fancy it. Not if they're on an upward trajectory in their career at present. It's too much of a risk. There is so much that needs to be done with this squad in the long term and you wouldn't bank on any manager being given both the time and resources to sort it out.

Right, but what I'm saying is you implied he was being instructed to play certain players. If that's the case it wouldn't change for a new manager. And if they were willing to change it for a new manager, then just change it for the current one.
-
But you say that as though that option hasn't been given to Cifuentes. And if that is the case, then rather than bring in someone new, just drop it from his remit. You're implying that Marti has been told he has to put these players in the side. If that's the case, why would that change for someone new?
-
I think they haven't got the money (or inclination) to do anything else really.
-
I just don't think we can afford Martin. Which is almost like an early Christmas gift.
-
Would it? Cos given how little we seem to have available I think we either stick with him or get King back. Martin might well be available but he's going to want a penny or two, and he's not worth having even if he was paying us. I reckon we'll have such little financial backing that we're in a conundrum of either keeping Cifuentes and trying to back him a bit in January, or just bringing in a manager and having this exact squad until the end of the season cos we'll have to spend what little we've got on compensation.
-
I don't know what the problem is to be honest. He's clearly identified that we were drawing too many games and he's made massive strides to rectify that in the last few games.

Tune in for Vardy tonight at 7.45
-
They see the back of his shirt and automatically think "Fxxk that.."
-
Ok there it is. Great ball for Carranza, but he's slow as fxxk. Then knocks it out. No fullbacks. No strikers. And we'd be better off.
-
They won't score that many.
-
Well that was a moment at least...
-
They're both absolute shit. We have one senior level fullback that's decent in the role and he can't stay fit for a season. Marti should bin off fullbacks altogether or shoehorn other players in. We could have any of our CB's out there and we'd be better imo.
-
Wouldn't be arsed even if we just put King back in the spot.
