  1. Yeah, well, not really a knock-out argument that one. "Set up" is possibly stretching it! I like Perez, a lot. He's a talented footballer, the kind I like to have in my team. I just happen to think he's a little too slow and over complicates things. This Saturday though, I would have turned to him (in the absence of Maddison). I think it is a blow that he's not available as he is a creative player, he could make something happen. I'm not sure where that creativity is going to come from without him, Nacho? Youri can make things happen but he'll be deeper. I don't think we have a no. 10 for Saturday, so play without one. I reckon we have to be more defensive, sit back and look to play on the break, looking to use Daka's pace. Maybe even wingbacks. (Barnes on the bench).... I dunno, tbh I'm not sure who we have left standing to perm a team out of the remnants!
  2. I like womens football and go and watch my local team whenever they're at home. They're inspiring, a breath of fresh air; their energy and attitude. It's not the men's game, it's different and I like it for that. If that's woke then I'll happily say I'm woke, I care not. I don't need to talk about it on here, it doesn't bother me, but if there is a conversation then I'll join in. Much like I do, or don't, for the multitude of other threads on here; some grab my attention, some don't. I'm not offended by threads that don't.

    Terem Moffi

I was about to post something similar. Bournemouth will have Le Fee, Ouatarra and Moffi at this rate! Edit: I mentioned in the Ouatarra thread that I'd watched the Lorient v Monaco match the other night. Lorient had a number of strong, pacey players. It doesn't surprise me that someone might consider buying a job lot!
  4. Now I wonder whose profile that might suit?
  5. I understand that. Despite the good signings we've made, we have made enough mistakes to make you fearful. It seems like a lot of money to me (for our club anyway) Get it wrong and you'd feel we're defo screwed. I love the intent it shows but tbh I can't see it happening.
  6. I bought Truth in the 70s when I was around maybe 15. It took me years to fully appreciate it.
  7. Yeah, it's these trousers.
  8. We can certainly try. Will that do ya?
  9. Paper cut signing the contract. Rodgers doesn't know when he'll be back, he's with a specialist being monitored.
  10. Making room?
  11. I'd think the club have done the sums, knowing what they need they're not going spaff the wad on one player... are they??
  12. I can confirm there is airport.

    January 2023

Certainly reads as though he's well and truly available. Make of that what you will.
  14. Saying his injury record isn't that bad is akin to saying there's not that much dogshit in the yard.
  15. £30M with that injury record? That really would a risk too far for me. I'm out
  16. That doesn't overly surprise me. It seemed to me that Kirk was exploring options upfront, obviously not 100% happy with what we had.
  17. Excellent, another keeper! A position we needed to bolster. No disrespects to either Levell nor Lambourne but they're not quite WSL standard.
  18. Remy's been talked about/in process a few weeks now, no? I was wondering when it would be made official! Let's all hope it isn't all a little too late (as mentioned earlier) Who's next??
  19. Yes, that's what I mean.... and don't call me Shirley!
  20. I believe FFP doesn't apply to Women's Football, so perhaps that's why we're able to spend more freely there. I know the transfer fees are way smaller, and I've no wish to derail this thread, but I wonder if that's what's impeding our spending on the men's team.
  21. Now there's a thread.... which celeb would we like investing in the club!
  22. Kirk used the bench well last night, and took the opportunity to give as many as possible some game time. We made hard going of it 1st half as Sunderland hassled and harried but we imposed ourselves 2nd half and started to play some good football, as they faded. We created chances, which was good to see, but you have to say that, in fairness, Sunderland are a class below and we won't find it as easy going in the league. It was however a much needed morale boosting performance, and I hope we can build on it. Brighton at the KP on Sunday, and that has to be as good an opportunity as we're going to get to get some points on the board.
  23. My, she was seriously hot in her day, despite the hairdo! Plus, as a rule, I seem to prefer dusky brunettes.
  24. Still a lot of football to play but I reckon Forest will muddle through, getting enough points, as will Wolves. Everton and West Ham, not so sure. Southampton, we'll see if their win is the start of something. Bournemouth are struggling. But, as mentioned above, Palace are starting to falter. Give it 6 weeks and who knows what the table will look like.
  25. I have 2nd teams that change. I like football so can admire the way a certain team plays and I'll look out for them. But I was brought up where tribal rivalries (in football) didn't exist so tend to be less parochial in general (Forest were once my 2nd team!). Being Leicester born though, I've only ever supported them.
