We would have lost Kasper, Mahrez and Vardy in addition to Kante after winning the league if we had this method. Never would have signed Tielemans permanently, either.
-
I don’t think people realise just how far off Birmingham and Wrexham’s first team squad is off of ours in terms of ability. They’ll both do well to be pushing play-offs next season.
-
Am I being stupid or have they not lifted the trophy?
-
In England, I agree, but I imagine his reputation abroad isn’t that bad as he’s had spells where he’s played well internationally for Belgium.
-
He had two years extra on his book value last time, so we would have had to sell him for about £12m to break even. Pretty sure we can sell him for about £6m in the summer. Rough estimates, not sure on actual figures.

Think West Ham are more likely to be in trouble.

This feels like the perfect comeuppance for Forest after having the flukiest outperformance of xG ever. On the day they actually create decent chances they can’t put them in.
-
The Forest fan on the overlap fan’s discussion made me laugh. ‘Look at Leicester and Portsmouth, I’d rather have Champions League than win the FA Cup’. Mate we won the league, got champions league and have won the FA Cup. You’ve done nothing.

Only really works if you get a manager who plays 3 at the back and wing backs.

Richard Kone

Let’s not forget that Carsley has been blessed with arguably the most talented U21 team of all time, not just English, not just in the world currently, but ever. I don’t think it’s fair to rate him higher as a candidate than Martin who has had relative success at 3 clubs in the EFL or Dyche who has won promotion several times with Burnley.

That front 3 is crap. How Maddison doesn’t start every game for Spurs is beyond me, too.
-
It’s a lie that the Championship is more physical. We were one of the best sides out of possession in the league last season then we jump up to the Premier League and we’re way off the pace and power of most teams in the league.

Is there a world where Nathan Opoku is part of the squad next season?

I’m not opposed to him, but I really don’t think the players we have would suit Dyche’s style of football. I know the easy answer is to say we get rid of loads of them then, but I think we’ll be stuck with a lot more of the current squad than is ideal for a rebuild. -
Hasnt he only got a year left on his contract? I can’t see it.
-
It’s also harder for the bigger teams to cherry pick the EPL proven talent now that the mid table teams can offer big contracts, too. More of the big clubs have to take gambles on players from abroad or spend mega money on EPL proven talent. Look at Palace, back in the late 2000s/early 2010s Eze, Wharton, Guehi and Mateta would have all been able to have been bought for reasonable-ish money (still would have been seen as big at the time) as soon as they proved their quality. Now you have to spend big or wait until the last year of their contract to get players like them.

If he’s advised well then I genuinely think he’s better off staying with us, rather than getting lost in PL2 at a Man City or Liverpool and playing 30 mins in the league cup a couple times a season until he’s 18/19. A couple years in the men’s game will be much better for his development and his reputation, although obviously my POV is biased.

I doubt Winks plays again until RVN is gone

Hermansen Ricardo Okoli Coady Thomas Ndidi Soumare Monga El Khannouss Mavididi Vardy

With one of Ndidi/Soumare in for Facundo and a couple of decent defenders signed in the summer and we would have gave ourselves a much better chance. It wasn't hard to see what to do using Enzo's blue print.

Barely had a run in comparison to what was offered to Ayew and Reid, and when he did feature he has been better than both.
