  1. I wonder if Faes might be used as the player stepping up into midfield in possession as we have conceded a lot of goals down the right hand side, might be better to keep JJ back there and I don't think Kristiansen is suited to invert either. Back 3 of Okoli, JJ and Kristiansen has a lot of pace in transition if we lose possession.
  2. Hermansen JJ Faes Vestergaard (Okoli if fit) Kristiansen Winks Ndidi El Khannouss Buonanotte Vardy Mavididi
  3. There was not much evidence then that Brighton were as competent as LCFC were at the time with how we were viewed. We've got to restart again somewhere.
  4. Enzo came in and made the players fitter than they'd ever been and gave them structure - Cooper was the one who ripped this out again.
  5. Then went on to sign Bobby Reid, Oliver Skipp and Jordan Ayew that made no improvement to the starting 11/had any resale value, but added to the manager's requirement of PL experience.
  6. Why would you consider these two for selection?
  7. Hermansen Faes Vestergaard Okoli JJ Ndidi Soumare Kristiansen Buonanotte Mavididi Vardy Won't be this but I'd like to try it.
  8. I'm not going to write him off in that regard but wouldn't be surprised if he didn't, either. I'd prefer Ruud, too.
  9. I'm not sure Carsley would be that bad, he seems like he's got a philosophy and likes to play front-footed football. High-press and possession dominant.
  10. They're having one bad run in about 7 years.
  11. I think it's easy to forget that most managers were former players. RVN has way more experience coaching than any of those 4.
  12. I'd rather take a gamble than have David Moyes. We've tried that route with Cooper.
  13. I'd argue Enzo was a front-runner all along. Apparently we tried to get him when we sacked Rodgers (as did Southampton when they sacked Jones) but he wanted to see the treble-winning season out with Man City.
  14. Maybe we will go left field, then. I just can't see Moyes or RVN, for some reason.
  15. Brighton regularly underperformed their xG under Potter. It wasn't that they couldn't create chances, it's that they didn't take them. At the start of this season we were outperforming our xG, so there could be a bit of balance restored there.
  16. I wonder how we could set up under Potter - if he uses the 3 at the back, then I could see him getting the best out of the central defenders. I think it would suit Faes, Vestergaard and Okoli. They all have deficiencies in their game at this level that having an extra body back there could make the difference, while also play a progressive style of play that gets the best out of Vestergaard, Soumare, Winks and our attacking players. Mads Faes Vestergaard Okoli JJ/McAteer Ndidi Winks Kristiansen Buonanotte Mavididi Vardy
  17. He didn't get them promoted, Chris Hughton did. Potter was their Puel. After what Puel set us up to go on to do, Potter makes sense really.
  18. Brighton had a squad that were predicted to narrowly avoid relegation for most of his time there and he walked into Chelsea at the worst possible moment. Need to apply context to win percentage stats.
  19. We need Liverpool December 2021 vibes for this tomorrow.
  20. We can get points off of West Ham, Brentford and Wolves, for sure.
  21. I disagree, he's one of the best players in the squad. It's a bit like Tielemans not looking as good when we were relegated, but we all knew he was a quality player. We need a few more players who can help Winks perform not the other way around.
  22. Hermansen Justin Faes Okoli Kristiansen Winks Ndidi Soumare/El Khannous McAteer Vardy (if not injured) Mavididi
  23. No, he hasn’t done anything, but don’t think we need either of them in the squad, really.
  24. Albrighton couldn’t start consistently for West Brom 18 months ago. He wouldn’t have been anywhere near standard now. Kasey McAteer is the player for that rotation role.
  25. It's no shock that England were able to play a much higher intensity, higher pressing game without Harry Kane.
