It doesn't matter how much you get paid or how professional you are l, if you know that one mistake is going to result in you getting pelted with abuse it's going to take its toll. Going to overthink things, hesitate on the ball and it all leads to more of those mistakes. How many players have we seen do well after leaving us. Personally I'd like to see us back the team for the 90 and then let the management get it (if required) at the end of the game. Hard to back to team with some of the recent dross though.

Nothing to get overly excited about, looks a good second choice striker for us currently who can hopefully push on.

Dave Challinor the suggested manager is currently out of work. Hardly throwing money around to bring him in. Getting rid of Martin will be costly, depending on what his contract says. Also our club would be a massive pull to an upcoming manager like him who's got experience at this level but not higher. We just target the wrong managers more often than not because we're obsessed with trying to play like Pep's Barcelona but with nowhere near the required skillset.

Any competent accountant would have prepared cashflow forecasts with various scenarios, including worst case and having to hold onto some of the high paid stars. We seem to have generally gone with acquisitions coming in as deadwood was cut loose so there's a fair chance we weren't surprised by having to hang onto Okoli and Faes.

There's two issues with Seagrave. 1. The loss of potential earnings, we could have extended or upgraded the stadium (so it could host gigs) etc. Generated more income and bought a little more breathing space under the stupid rules that protect the big six. 2. The cost of running the damn thing now we've fallen down to League 1. Having a top class facility should not be an issue bar funding it. Why we've not made it worth Tigers while to move into the place with us I don't know. Their setup is far from the best and a tenant paying a bit of rent would certainly help.

Some signs the new man McCarron is going to mix up the transfer business. He seems a very positive addition. We should nearly have the wage bill down to manageable levels. We should not be too far from being self funding, were it not for Seagrave we'd probably be pretty close.

Silva even when available didn't work. Managed 14 games and we ended up terminating his contract and letting him go for nothing early because he didn't want to be here. Slimani had the sort of finishing rate for us that a lot on here bemoan any striker we are linked too. Wasn't a bad finisher but offered little else. Think he was allowed to leave for nothing as well. Our recruitment after the title win was shocking. We really struggled to adapt and Slimani was a case in point. The sort of player useful when you're scrapping against relegation, maybe. Going for Europe, nope.

Surely not even in the top 5. He has been mediocre and we very much overpaid but his attitude has been fine.
