  1. If Rudkin gets £17m for him then we'll actually have to be nice about him, briefly. Hell of a deal.
  2. Buffets, long lazy walks and having the turning circle of a roundabout?
  3. We didn't have £5m to spend in the summer. We didn't have £3m for Kone.
  4. Big risk, big potential reward for Watford with that signing.
  5. Loan and then an option at £2m? Worth a go. We're desperate for someone to put the ball in the net.
  6. He's only 26. Not like he's in his thirties. We need someone for now not someone with potential as well.

    Lyndon Dykes

A lot on here said Bamford was past it and we shouldn't touch him with a barge pole. That's the same Bamford who's got 6 goals in 11 games for the Blades. Depends on whether the player is a good role for the squad more than their past performance. Dykes probably wouldn't have been prolific for us but he's known for having a good work rate, being physical and decent in the air. All of which could be useful for us. Also worth considering that as we've got Maccies Happy Meal Money to spend we aren't going to get a Michelin Star offering.
  8. Does he sit through 90 mins of hell or does he trott down to the ground for the corporate lunch and drinks, occasionally casting an eye out pitch wards to check the score before refilling his glass?
  9. Cam we convince them to take a swap deal? Daka, Vesty, Winks, Begovic they can take their pick or take all. I'd even cover a proportion of their wages until the end of the season to make it happen. Norwich need all the help they can get after all...
  10. Who would take them? You've got players who aren't really showing any fight for the second season in a row, are on hefty contracts and as Coady has demonstrated won't suddenly become good if they change environment. Who's going to put their hand in their pocket for that? The only sellable assets are the younger guys we'd prefer to keep not the older guys struggling to get game time and being paid a fortune.
  11. We didn't pay anything for Golding, he was thrown into the deal at an inflated value as a PSR exercise by Chelsea. We apparently have no cash to spend hence the three loans in the summer and no activity so far this month. Can't see us signing anyone for a fee unless we offload for good profits.
  12. Sunderland and Napoli also being linked. Is it too much to hope we get a bidding war that drives the price up over £30m?
  13. Doesn't sound like they are accepting it. 'Leicester fans not happy' published at 19:02 GMT 19:02 GMT Sheff Utd 2-0 Leicester Rob Staton BBC Radio Sheffield The chant is now 'you're getting sacked in the morning' from the Leicester fans.
  14. Whilst incompetently run we've not been left penniless in administration again. There really are a lot worse. Ask Sheff Wednesday fans.
  15. I don't want to defend the mess that's been made but I would point out there's a lot of charlatans and chancers out there happy to buy clubs. There are a lot worse than Top.
  16. We'll have to learn to live to our means. If that means offloading more experienced players then so be it. Likely Fatawu goes then if not January.
  17. There's quite a few out of contract at the end of the season. Will get a lot of salary off the wage budget. Will help considerably on the financial side of things.
  18. The assistant with a couple of years at Rochdale and who'd mainly spent time in youth football was a bigger gamble than Marti. Had the club gone down that route they'd have been cries of being cheap etc. He'd have never been given a chance by most.
  19. Could we afford to sack him even if we lost?
  20. Sadly can't see us getting buyers for all of them, their salaries are too big. Might be the summer before we can offload the likes of Winks and Soumare. Bit harsh on Ayew as well. He at least tries and might actually work if we had a striker he could play off.
  21. I'd have thought it was fairly standard for most bigger sides loaning players to lower league sides. You want the player playing and improving so you can sell him at profit or re-integrate him when useful. Him having to be in a percentage of match day squads when fit seems logical. We don't have to play him and seeing as you can have so many subs these days not really a massive bind. We just need to send him back in January and try a different route.
  22. With a budget of sod all you have to gamble. It's not paid off. Hindsight is 20/20, we took punts on three loans and two have worked and one didn't. If we were doing it again we'd probably sign Bamford instead but plenty here wouldn't have touched him at the time.
  23. I'd give MON the job in a second. 18 month contract with an optional get out in the summer. Let him hand pick a number 2 who would take over from him at the end of the 18 months. That way we'd have the continuation of philosophy, pretty much the opposite of what Celtic did. For those that are worried about MON stepping into the car crash that is us at the minute then consider how Celtic is going pretty much the same way North of the border.
  24. Depends on what's those appearances constitute. Those 6 league games for Blackburn got him on average 26 mins a game. Not really a lot of opportunity to make an impact. He's quick and at one point looked to be half decent, still only 27. If we've got no cash to spend you offer him a deal until the end of the season on a pay as you play deal.
