Marc Albrighton opens up on future after 'perfect' Leicester City exit
shen replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Vichai and his (wife's) mum only happened to happen while he was under contract, but why would that lead to hate? If anything he seems utterly grateful of the least expected success story ever. Apart from the very beginning under Pearson, there was never an ounce of discontent from his camp. He's won the PL, FA Cup, Charity Shield and scored in the CL while reaching the latter stages of European football twice. He would never have believed his luck after being let go by Villa... -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
shen replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
To think Ward, Souttar, Kristiansen, Iversen, Soumare, Thomas - and at a push Coady, Daka and Cannon - who are deadwood are costing us around £4-500k/week or £20-26m per year is mindboggling. We wouldn't really miss any of those IMO. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Are there some qualified guesses as to how much our wage bill will go down with all the high profile departures this summer? I do also wonder how much (if at all) the wages went down after relegation and how much it goes up after promotion. -
Real Madrid are the Ipswich of Europe aren't they? Incredibly jammy!

I mean, for the period we're charged for the total loss across three seasons (all in the PL) is £105m/£35m average per season or thereabouts. Assuming the rules stay the same (I know the PL voted to change so this is unlikely), our permitted loss for the next three years would include (at least) 1 season in the Championship, which allows around £13m loss per season on average. So as I understand it we're allowed up to £83m loss rolling over the next three years...
-
We can lose less for the next three years under current PSR rules, just like Forest, due to use having been one season in the Championship where the loss allowed is much less. At least that's how I understand it.

But that's not because of Fofana that our recruitment failed or that we didn't have the foresight in this situation. It was a brilliant piece of business and we got some decent mileage out of him during his time here. It's bizarre how fans will only like players if they perform above average AND stay for a long time. If it's only loyalty, but the quality is average or less they're leeches who "suck the club dry", if they're good but leave 'too soon', they're "mercenaries", "selfish" etc etc.

He'd be too expensive surely. Are there any So'ton or Leeds players we should look at should either or both fail to get promoted? Latte Lath could be someone that could make the jump. Jordan James from Brum surely has to be sold following their relegation - he'd be a solid and affordable investment I think.

Ah yes, playing the "I am local, I go to games, my claim to fanhood and therefore legitimacy of my opinion is superior to all non-goers"-card. Class move. I submit to you, oh loyal customer.

We have some great fans don't we

What is Vardy shouting at 5.21?

Didn't Enzo mention that the only extension the club have made so far is with Choudhury. My guess is that any further extensions/deals are put on ice until the end of the FY - basically any sales before end of June will have a direct impact on who stays and who goes. Of course, this is assuming that the players with expiring contracts want to stay...

I'm surprised the Hulk didn't mention the help during his post-race interview. The two seem to get along just fine as teammates as well. I wonder how pissed Magnussen is at Hulk for breaking the DRS and leaving him stranded. I'd be a bit torn as a team boss there as obviously it benefitted Hulk, but could Magnussen have hung on to 8th and an extra, valuable point if he had the DRS train? Or did Hulk do the right thing by going for the 2 points and hope/rely on Magnussen repeating his Jeddah 'heroics'?

Pretty decent stats for Ndidi Also, to repeat my point from another thread - getting a replacement of the same or higher quality isn't going to be cheap and PSR means that paying fees should be done VERY carefully. Then there is the added benefit of having a sellable asset if he keeps performing in his new role in the PL. Not to mention keeping a winner and a big player who is one of the pillars of this team - he's one of our longest servants after all. If he isn't demanding impossible wages, I feel it is important (and sensible) that we keep him.
-
I feel his adaptability also caught many off guard. The way he took in Maresca's ideas and supported Fatawu with his MANY channel runs and higher quality end product than most of us thought he possessed shows how wrong it was to typecast him solely as a destroyer. IF he can stay injury free, I think it's worth extending his contract even if his salary is on the high side. I think from a purely squad management perspective it's important to keep winners like him around, but also because a quality replacement is not going to be cheaper - especially if we have to pay a fee for one. The added bonus is that we could then still sell him for good money (and PSR profit) next season as his stock will no doubt have stayed quite high.
-
You could really argue that every single cog that season was vital - it just needed to be for that to happen. Many weren't as eyecatching on or off the pitch as Vardy, Mahrez, Kanté, Ranieri et al and Shinji with his graft and tenacity was one of them.
-
Maresca was in place and likely involved when we recruited Coady, but I highly doubt he was handpicked by Maresca and instead was someone our recruitment team identified with the requested abilities (leadership and experience). Coady came back early enough in the season to win back the place, but despite his hefty cost he wasn't able to - which again leads me to think he did NOT quite fit the profile Maresca wanted as he bemoaned the lack of pace in our backline. Souttar is the same as in he's the worst option of the three, so he'll never get a look in. Selling both Coady and/or Souttar will be nigh impossible and even if we did, they would represent huge losses in PSR terms... And I see no point in talking about Soyuncu
-
So you'd keep Coady and Souttar over Vestergaard simply because of the contract, when neither have gotten more than courtesy games the entire season in a division lower? You could make a case that Coady could *maybe* replace Vestergaard next year, but Maresca clearly thinks he is not at the same level. So either Maresca adapts or he needs a new centerback which we can ill afford.

The more I think about the finale, the better I think it is. It's much more open-ended and maybe more bleak - but at the same time it's also satisfying. This is in many ways as good or superior to GoT. The acting, the script, the visuals and soundscape and music are all excellent.
-
See I felt it the other way around. Found Pt1 lacking (especially the dialogue which was diabolical) and pt2 was better paced. But yes, I understand the criticism too.
-
*Or any player that could attract a decent offer (Winks, Mavididi, Faes, Hermansen, etc) The noises from KDH himself is that he does not wish to leave. As a local lad and a fan of the club, I hope he gets to stay and not become the next Matt Piper.
-
We know he is slow. He's always been slow. If we continue to press high next season it will pose a bigger problem than this year - but despite this obvious weakness in defense, we currently have the meanest defense in the league. My point is just that if Vestergaard was ahead of Coady because the latter wasn't notably quicker, then we are either looking at a weaker defense (should Vestergaard leave) or Coady being the next 'Vestergaard' who cannot get a look in and will cost half a fortune in fees and salary. If given a choice, would you rather keep Coady over Vestergaard or would you get rid of them both?
