  1. He's been key for us. Coady hasn't had a look in, so if Vestergaard goes, I suppose Coady goes too or becomes another deadwood player.
  2. So Saturday is potentially the last time we see Vardy & Albrighton, last of the legends. Add to those Ndidi, Nacho, Vestergaard, Doyle, Akgün and Praet. I wonder who, if any of them, will get a contract extension given our financial situation. Could be a bittersweet day
  3. Yeah, hindsight is a beautiful thing. I too felt that playoff was the minimum target and that we were some way off Leeds and Southampton with all our departures and the mess we were left in. No doubt the shock of relegation was bigger for us than for Leeds/So'ton. The start we had was simply incredible - and thank frick for that!
  4. Seems like you already made your mind up about that one quote. For all intents and purposes he may have thought So'ton were so rubbish they didn't make us work for more than 60 minutes for the win. We've had games where we needed to work hard for 90+ minutes (or more i.e. against Bournemouth) because the opposition were that good. That's how I would think, especially because we've done this before this season and put sides that try to play out to the sword.
  5. *Sigh* He's always composed in front of the cameras. He's very deliberate about it and Pearson acknowledged his consistency all season, as dour as it may be. You're looking for things that aren't there. He's very emotive during games and was beaming on the pitch during and after the game - that's the true face. I've already covered multiple times how two of our five goals were what you could call 'classic Enzoball' (Ndidi's and Vardy's goals). The others were a high press turnover, a long range strike and a direct counter attack. It's a bizarre take to assume Maresca didn't set us up this way (and therefore assuming that the players defied his tactics). So many seem to not get the idea and intent, or even the pragmatism, of his tactical style. Even fewer take into account the quality and style of the opposition. It's clear that Maresca and his team spend a lot of time analyzing the opposition (I base this on the press conferences and the many tweaks before and during games) and that the opposition most often try to surprise us tactically as a result. TLDR - don't blame Maresca when it goes bad and then discredit him when it goes well. That's just resentful.
  6. DGAS, as long as we get promoted
  7. People are being a bit daft here. Two of our goals were classic "Enzoball", only the last one was a counter.
  8. It was just a high press and then exploiting the gap with our wide men playing really wide. First goal came from Faes 'winning' a 50/50 on halfway line, second goal was well-worked and a classic Enzoball goal from Ndidi, third goal was a Fatawu belter (like Bouremouth, y'know, the one he tries so often), fourth goal was another Enzoball goal and the fifth was a classic counter.
  9. Interestingly, this makes it 9-1 on aggregate against So'ton...
  10. Fatawu just stat-padding now...
  11. Only need to hold on for another 12 minutes!!
  12. EFL conspiracy still a thing? One thing is sure, the officials want Leicester and Leeds out of the Championship
  13. If it's that clear, then there's no excuse for the Assistant Ref not to see it...
  14. Yet I cannot remember us being this porous besides against Cov first game. Yes, the midfield left our defense horribly exposed, but dear me. When we cannot intercept crosses with three tall centerbacks, then I despair...
  15. With the same amount of divine intervention in the remaining games we could almost rival Ipswich.
  16. He channeled Danny Simpson/Wes Morgan big time today!
  17. For all the criticism and groans he gets, he's been worth his place today - and if we get a result today, all his teammates need to give him a big pat on the head!
  18. This is too much for my heart this. How this game isn't 3-7 is beyond me.
  19. And Mavididi, KDH, Fatawu, Winks, Faes, Vestergaard, Ricardo... they've all missed big chances this year. But yes, it's ridiculous, especially per Vardy's standards, how many the strikers have missed.

    Daka

    All our strikers are!
  21. wtf is with our strikers this season... jesus almighty! None of them can finish!
  22. Shhh, don't! The haters won't like it.
  23. I'm amazed at how many have so quickly thrown in the towel. It's like our fate is already sealed even when it's still in our hands. If the team lacks spine, then parts of our fanbase are doing their best to mirror them.
  24. Are there any stats available about how jammy Ipswich have been this season? I mean, all credit to their determination and never say die attitude, but I cannot recall such consistent good fortune with late winners, deflected goals and penalty calls.
