Have to say I really enjoy Enzo putting faith in our academy youngsters. Stolarczyk, McAteer, Raikhy, Wanya, Nelson, Raikhy, Cover all getting minutes this season, Alves in the fold too and more on the bench. And we don't look much worse for it either

He never had the physicality to play as a striker in the PL. He wasn't quick, tall or strong and he wasn't a threat from distance. He can be 'irritated' all he wants, but by now he should also recognise that his role for us, which he excelled at, got the absolute maximum out of him. Awesome team player and the epitome of a hardworking defensive forward.

One look above suggests he's easily better than Kel and Mav.

It's bizarre with him, because despite being a pretty rubbish attacking player, he was such a vital cog in our winning team. He was perfectly niche for us and would probably have failed or been anonymous for most other PL teams. A cult hero and legend who you couldn't help but admire.

Yeah, it's horrible that your competition gets crippled and makes PL survival more achievable the goal posts move every match day anyway. Everton and Forest are just extremely fortunate that it likely won't have any bearing on their seasons as the promoted teams are lacking so much in quality. The ones it REALLY is awful for are the teams that were denied promotion/PL survical because of these clubs knowingly breaking the rules. It pays to break them currently if 6 points is deemed sufficient for three seasons of overspending.

Wonder if the red card and suspension knocked him off kilter a little bit.

it's been nearly two decades since they rebranded (to a far superior name as well)

You must mean Carrick and not McKenna..?

Fair enough, but remember that a large part of this group and staff were not even here last season... I hope you still get to enjoy the remaining part of the season

Good on you. I get that emotions are running high, they did for me too. I was cheesed off all night. But those emotions should stay just that. It shouldn't cloud the facts or make us turn against our own team or fanbase. Especially considering the season we're having.
-
It gives comfort because on the basis of probability, we will win games where we are on top and creating big chances throughout. If we were relying on the incompetence of others, then our luck would eventually run out. Thankfully, we've outplayed nearly all teams and won the vast majority of games quite comfortably. I'm calm about Enzo. He knows far more than the average fan. He will know what issues we have and to be fair, he's addressed the vast majority of them already this season.

True, we shouldn't. We ARE responsible for throwing away those leads to some degree. There are circumstancial factors (red card, officials) at play too, but we agree. I do think we have been severely punished for minor mistakes and we cannot expect to control the full 90 minutes like some do when they say we sit back and perform 'game management'. It's wrong to say we haven't been under pressure. We've been under great pressure from the start and we've handled it well in general. You asked for evidence when it was right there staring at you the whole time. What evidence is there that we will surrender our position? If our league only comprised Leeds, Boro and Ipswich, then sure, I'd be worried too. But that's not the case, and we still outplayed all those sides on balance over 90 minutes. We've bounced back from our previous mini blip and I have no reason to think we won't do that again. So as suspected, our past is a big reason for why you feel as you do. I can understand that. But let me ask, in what way can you as a supporter help the team? It's ironic as you are pointing to the past in very much the same way to show that we will fail. Fearmongering is debilitating and I'd much rather see the frustration and passion fuelling a response from the crowd as well as the team.

It's obviously fuelled by past seasons of incompetence. Add to it an apprehension of our playing style and a lack of composure among our fanbase akin to that of Daka, Mavididi and Fatawu. If we had been terrible for 80 mins yesterday and been as reliant as Leeds were on the officials and opposition letting them off the hook, would that have been more reassuring? It's just not true. But I suppose there are large discrepancies in what football fans are looking for. I think everyone acknowledges that our finishing was shit and that losing games late is as disconsolate as winning late is euphoric. I might be naïve as to what a supporter is, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't include abuse or OTT criticism.

I've not previously noticed it from you before, but you didn't half pull the panic lever since last night. I worry for people with this mentality, which is why I find it so ironic when the club's mentality is questioned by the very same people.

Congrats!

Well you call yourself Chocolate Teapot, so it makes sense why pressure is getting to you.

Do you realise how insane your expectation levels are? You're basically saying we should win EVERY game! You a Verstappen fanboy by any chance? Where's the recognition of building up a huge lead in the first place? Does it matter if we get promoted 1 point ahead of third or 35 points? The net result is the same. We still have a huge lead at this stage of the season. You saying there is no evidence is the most facepalm moment in the entire post. We had the exact same sequence of results a couple of months ago, against the same effing opposition (seriously, what's with the goldfish level brains on here?), only to go on another great run. The worst part is that this kind of thinking is the opposite of what is needed. As supporters you want to support and show some confidence in the team. Nervousness can spread from the stands to the pitch and what good will that do? I sincerely hope the same folks don't act in the same way To their children, colleagues or family & friends.

Or a lack of composure. It's surprising to me with the strikers we have that we've been so inefficient. If anything, our attackers have been our saving grace for a good number of seasons when our defence and midfield have been poor or average.
-
The issue is that we're overfocused on the issues and glossing too quickly over what we do well. I have a tendency to so myself but it must me infuriating to be on the receiving end of all this nitpicking. Who in their right mind would have complained if you showed them this league table at the start of the season? Our very few games where we've dropped points have mostly been due to late winners/equalisers (except Leeds H and Hull H), which is why we highlight it. But in reality it's a minor chink in the armor. We grossly underperformed last season, it's not even close to being comparable situations. It's annoying as not only did we start the season in flying form, but curiously we had the exact same two results earlier in the season and responded by going on another great run. The lack of belief, trust and positivity among some of our fan base is cancerous. You're just proving the point. We were woeful by being 15th in the xG table and yet it also required some bad luck for us to get relegated. Yeah, Leeds were really patient weren't they? Second half they just thought "Let's gift Leicester some gilt-edged chances and rely on incompetent officials, then we'll suckerpunch them in the end with some measured deflected strikes". It's not like they were hanging on and given obscene amounts of lifelines...

I wouldn't be so sure...

Ah, well then I know not to take your football opinions seriously.

I was going by his club stats on Transfermarkt (13 goals, no assists? in 4869 minutes, i.e. and average of 1 in 4)
