  1. Totally agree with this. What this season has shown me is sacking the manager no longer has the impact it maybe once had. Of course there are exceptions (Wolves and Everton seem obvious) however Leicester, West ham, Southampton, Man U etc can all point to no improvement. Without funds for a new manager to bring in any of their new players, coupled with an existing bank of poor players, you are expecting a lot for a manager to turn things around. Not to dismiss the fact RVN has been every bit as bad as I feared he would be.
  2. Carsley would be a terrible appointment and a risk that we don't need to take. He showed little with England team to suggest he is any good. We need someone who is a strong character, experienced and has shown they can work with existing players on a shoestring budget. Dyche would be perfect.
  3. If it's the same interview I listened to, my interpretation was he was more talking about the clubs plans for the future in the championship - budgets, who stays, goes etc. Of course his future is tied into this and you would assume the club wouldn't bother entertaining talks on this until they are sure they want to stick with him.
  4. Rudkin recruiting will give us the same result again which would be more money wasted. He needs to go before any more decisions made
  5. This is absolutely the only strategy I can see working. Become known as a club that gives youngsters a go so they don't feel they have to move elsewhere to get first team football. Play technical football so we can cherry pick the odd quality loanees from the big boys. I'm not even bothered if they see us as a platform, just as long as we're getting good money for them Sprinkle a few older heads and id be happy to follow that.
  6. Agree with this. The problem here lies more in the identification of the player. He's not an unknown quantity yet he appears useless to our team. Someone on the scouting side got this very wrong
  7. From Tops point of view it's a gamble we'll ever become this again. In fact with PSR, you'd need to pull a rabbit out of the hat. I'm sure it was Ashley's plan to sell when they were on the up as well.
  8. Pearson would be a fantastic choice. Been part of our success with a model I would love is to go back to- young talent with the odd wise head thrown in. Great football knowledge, well connected, gets in well with Top so would bridge the divide between playing and board.
  9. Rodgers too. As much as I hated the way he downed tools, he was right. Seems to be a trend.
  10. Didn't Maresca call it out in a recent interview?
  11. This was my first thought. One of the two "Magical Magyars" as the Mercury claimed.
  12. Radio implied it was mainly Faes but keeper could possibly have done better.
  13. Didn't stop Bill Bailey
  14. I prefer to vote with my mullet
  15. I'm sure both of these would be the managers call- he would only negotiate
  16. This was not the Pressman that played for us. He was barely mobile. The memory of him falling backwards as he was lobbed by the opposing keeper is one I can't forget.
  17. I refuse to believe anyone could be worse then that pieman Pressman.
  18. I think Winks form dipped under Cooper from the levels he was at under Maresca. I would hope he is a key player again
  19. Jeez Sven was an amazing manager... But not for us. Spent a shed load for us to be struggling for the playoffs.
  20. Ranieri Pearson Rodgers Enzo Shakespeare Puel Sven Cooper Smith Souza
  21. Id probably wage that every person they interviewed thought there would be one.
  22. Surely Southampton.
  23. I also didn't understand this point. A large number of people still believe that the manager buys all the players. Leicester Mercury this week in fact ran with a title "Cooper's signings rated out of 10 including one who has 2" I think it was Rodgers who was the first to say for us that he was the coach and not in charge of buying the players. Why shouldn't those who chose to buy Khannouss for arguement sake not come out and tell us why they thought he would be a good fit. Not saying he won't
  24. Surely there's a way to get both of them in. I'm a Ricky fan but not sure why it has to be one or other
  25. As someone has said hasn't this ship now sailed? I was reading that he follows a lot of Bielsa methods which require a high level of fitness... Isn't this going to be difficult to implement mid season?
