  1. Dyche getting a lot of stick for using older players seems unfair. Firstly he still sold a number of players on for big money - wood, Keane, Collins, Berge, Cornet and Gray all over £20m and developed on his watch. Secondly the main thing we need is value... One way to get this is to develop youngsters (I'm all for this approach and appreciate we are in a position we need to utilise this) Second way is to use players that have been discarded by other clubs to get the best out of them. He was great at doing this. The later approach has not worked for us in recent seasons and maybe an area Dyche could prove worthwhile
  2. I disagree- we don't save money. We have to pay RVN off and probably give this guy a pay rise. Why wouldn't we just keep RVN on if we are paying him anyway? I don't believe this guy is going to contribute anything different that he wasn't already contributing. It's a team game and BBM has to take just as much responsibility for the poor results- Im not sure I understand why people are looking to ignore his part.
  3. Don't like the sound of that one bit. I personally only think the hiring the assistant works if the no1 has been successful. It would end up being a more watered down version of RVN without the contacts. Would defo rather keep Ruud then promote this guy.
  4. Exactly the sort of player we should be avoiding, in a position we don't need.
  5. Agree with this. I personally think 15 too young regardless of how good they are. Loads of youngsters with top potential have had careers ruined through injury by playing too much when they are young as their body not yet developed. Michael Owen one obvious example.
  6. Winks was fantastic in the championship season - sure there were reports of interest from big teams. Great if you can move them on but I can't see someone paying 90k a week for him on the back of last season, let alone paying a fee- Vestegaard even more so. I'd rather someone come in and utilise and make the most of what we have.
  7. Playing devil's advocate... We have the crux of the same team that went up under Enzo at a canter including Vestegaard and Winks who aren't going anywhere and won't play under current manager. Is it not a move that makes sense recruiting someone very similar in style to Enzo where we can fully utilise all the same players without having to replace a load (which we can't afford to do) under a manager who has also shown he can build a successful Championship side. I get he did crap in Prem but willing to cross that bridge when we get there.
  8. My big problem with this is Ruud would then be bringing in the players. This was the exact same problem when Cooper brought in his guys like BDCR and Ayew that we are now stuck with. Ruud should be a better manager in the championship, and we have been better over recent weeks, however Rudkin/ Top needs to wholeheartedly believe he is the man, otherwise we need to make the change now
  9. Cooper was a terrible decision. What I find strange is Corberan was an obvious choice and seemingly in contention, however the compensation put them off which was circa 3m. We then proceed to waste that same amount on Coulibaly.
  10. I would be behind that. The money sacking him would be far better spent on these.
  11. Totally agree with this. What this season has shown me is sacking the manager no longer has the impact it maybe once had. Of course there are exceptions (Wolves and Everton seem obvious) however Leicester, West ham, Southampton, Man U etc can all point to no improvement. Without funds for a new manager to bring in any of their new players, coupled with an existing bank of poor players, you are expecting a lot for a manager to turn things around. Not to dismiss the fact RVN has been every bit as bad as I feared he would be.
  12. Carsley would be a terrible appointment and a risk that we don't need to take. He showed little with England team to suggest he is any good. We need someone who is a strong character, experienced and has shown they can work with existing players on a shoestring budget. Dyche would be perfect.
  13. If it's the same interview I listened to, my interpretation was he was more talking about the clubs plans for the future in the championship - budgets, who stays, goes etc. Of course his future is tied into this and you would assume the club wouldn't bother entertaining talks on this until they are sure they want to stick with him.
  14. Rudkin recruiting will give us the same result again which would be more money wasted. He needs to go before any more decisions made
  15. This is absolutely the only strategy I can see working. Become known as a club that gives youngsters a go so they don't feel they have to move elsewhere to get first team football. Play technical football so we can cherry pick the odd quality loanees from the big boys. I'm not even bothered if they see us as a platform, just as long as we're getting good money for them Sprinkle a few older heads and id be happy to follow that.
  16. Agree with this. The problem here lies more in the identification of the player. He's not an unknown quantity yet he appears useless to our team. Someone on the scouting side got this very wrong
  17. From Tops point of view it's a gamble we'll ever become this again. In fact with PSR, you'd need to pull a rabbit out of the hat. I'm sure it was Ashley's plan to sell when they were on the up as well.
  18. Pearson would be a fantastic choice. Been part of our success with a model I would love is to go back to- young talent with the odd wise head thrown in. Great football knowledge, well connected, gets in well with Top so would bridge the divide between playing and board.
  19. Rodgers too. As much as I hated the way he downed tools, he was right. Seems to be a trend.
  20. Didn't Maresca call it out in a recent interview?
  21. This was my first thought. One of the two "Magical Magyars" as the Mercury claimed.
  22. Radio implied it was mainly Faes but keeper could possibly have done better.
  23. Didn't stop Bill Bailey
  24. I prefer to vote with my mullet
  25. I'm sure both of these would be the managers call- he would only negotiate
