  1. I love the hate England get in football. It's really missing from supporting Leicester. If you're not hated you're likely to be a bit tinpot. That Argentina game was the first game of the world cup that felt like there was a bit of bite/atmosphere. All the other games have been shrines to a pre season happy clapper fest at the KP
  2. Agreed, in Qatar we actually looked good. Also a bit unlucky with Rooney getting injured in the Portugal game in 2004. He was in the form of his life and killed our momentum
  3. As good as Jude is, he's not comparable to Messi and isn't really a playmaker. We need someone who is creative and we don't currently have that out wide. I think Kane is our most creative player, but that would require dropping him into Jude's position and Jude is the future. If Olise had played for the country he was meant to play for it would all be okay
  4. Very frustrating but i think we're still a couple of players short. Improvement on two years ago but we've hardly been great all tournament. Our wingers have been pretty toothless throughout (despite Gordan taking his goal well). Obv keeping possession was the main issue. I actually think we looked most dangerous when Kane came and received the ball deep and fizzed passes in. Apart from that it was just pass it out to the wingers who lacked creativity. Rice and Saka not being at the races hasn't helped- who are our 3rd and 4th best players imo. Is there a role for Kane to play as a number 10 in the future with a striker beyond him? I know that's Bellingham's position, but i feel Kane is more creative and Bellingham is more a moments player. Could you play Jude deeper? Maybe we just need to use Kane more intelligently rather than flog him every game. The one that still haunts me is the Euro 2021 final. That was so winnable. All the other tournaments we've probs ended up where we should have been.
  5. I don't rate Madueke or Gordan but they both work hard. Is there an argument that you get them to work their socks off and then bring on the quality when the game opens up?
  6. I feel like in America because most of their food and produce is so bad, that you actually get some of the best stuff in the world, because there's such a push back against it from a small minority. Same with beer over there, their macro lager is abysmal, but their independent scene is probs the best in the world. You have to work very hard at it because the majority of stuff is atrocious, but the top 10% of stuff is some of the best in the world.
  7. Haha yeah and now they’re trying to push Carling Black Label. At least Madri highlighted to a wider audience that all these identical lagers are just a marketing con. I was one of the gullible idiots who thought they were drinking a stylish Spanish lager and I’ve become a complete snob ever since
  8. Are those beers actually that good in their home country or do we have a nostalgia for them because we associate them with holiday? Mythos and Cruzcampo are both owned by Carlsberg and Heineken so are likely to be tampered with in their home markets anyway. I think you have to look for beers which aren’t owned by the big brewers and are still to some degree independent, or something German/Czech where it’s much harder to move away from traditional recipes
  9. Just had a look and the draft beer is brewed in Wales by ABInBev. It's one of those corn lagers , like Corona and the American Light beers, which makes it cheap to make and bland. Looks like they'll be heavily playing on it being Mexican (that famous brewing country) after the Spanish ship has reached capacity!
  10. Isn't Modelo just the latest crap, bland macro lager being pushed by the big brewers?
  11. I went to the Notts County Chesterfield game earlier this year, where the Notts County player lobbed the Chesterfield’s players boot off the pitch and got sent off Was so stupid. Hope they see this through! Another good away day for next year
  12. The Pizzas they’re doing at the Swan in Mountsorrel atm are very good
  13. Leyton Orient supporters club is also in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. They have around 10 cask ales on before each game all from independents. Actually excited about some of our away days for the first time in a while. Hoping to do Orient, Bradford and Burton
  14. So deflating. An incredibly dull FA cup final to follow too
  15. That insanely lucky penalty bailed Celtic out of this game
