Is this the most stressful season as a Leicester fan ?
shiv replied to marcymarc666's topic in Leicester City Forum
Not to mention the repeated mistake of not capitalising on the January window. We made the same mistake when we were challenging for Top 4 but didn’t learn. Really hope we see a board shake up at the end of the season. -
There’s literally no way of proving this. Only comparison you could argue we have is we were in for Martin and they are below us with a largely similar squad quality.

The guy said he doesn’t enjoy watching us at all. I was pointing out that surely watching us win this season is better than the turgid last year. I’m glass half full but 90% of this forum isn’t it seems
-
So you’d rather we lose every week like last season? I know sometimes it’s slow and laboured but fvck me people are dramatic. We’ve won 28 games this season!

“We will get better as the season goes on”
shiv replied to Stevosevic's topic in Leicester City Forum
I disagree with this. We were actually pretty average at the beginning of the season but managed to pick up a lot of wins. Best performance I’ve seen is Leeds away until we conceded. -
I’ve taken the time to reflect on the game, here’s my balanced view on Enzo. -He should have made more changes to the starting XI. When you look back to earlier in the season, he wasn’t afraid to rotate and we were still picking up wins. -He is too late with his subs and his in game management needs a lot of work. -He is a serial overthinker. Why did he stop Ricardo from being inverted last night? Why did he swap KDH and N’Didi? Some very small but unnecessary changes in my view. However, I think it’s a little premature to call for his head. We are on course to finish on 90+ points at our first attempt back to the PL. People are too focused on the 17 point lead, we were never going to finish on 2.5 points per game let’s be honest (that would leave us at 116 for the season). He has also inherited half a team of cast outs that didn’t really get a look in last season. In terms of the style, I totally understand why he prefers us to control the game. The few times we bombed forward from counter attack last night, we got left exposed at the back and they had half chances. We have the slowest CBs in the league arguably, so bombing forward is not the answer IMO. Having said that, we need to be much quicker in possession. Our best play came from when we zipped it around with one touch football. Players looked jaded and offered no movement to Faes & Vestergaard who just ended up playing it around the back. It’s still in our hands. And I also think 1 of the 2 teams below us will fall off. I’m bought into the style, considering he only joined us last summer he’s done a great job getting players’ buy in. I just think we lack quality in some areas and need another busy summer of refreshing the squad (hopefully in the PL). And he definitely needs to improve in some areas too. You just hope he learns from his mistakes, so far we’re seeing the Rodgers style stubbornness which he needs to get out of his system.

Not been overly impressed with them personally, but as we showed earlier in the season you don’t need to play well every week to win games. Naturally they will be favourites to get autos but they have the toughest run in IMO. Let’s see.

Must’ve been watching different games as I thought he looked really good. Not surprising how poor we’ve been without him in the team.
-
I can’t imagine Kelechi will stick around, far too good for the Championship. Daka might want a move, and Vardy might want to try something outside England before he retires. I’d be shocked if all 3 stayed.
-
Few of the reports are saying he’d take convincing to drop down, but hopefully Enzo does the job.
-
If you look back to Winks’ earlier career he was a progressive midfielder always looking for the forward pass. It didn’t always come off but when it did he carved open defences. Somewhere along the way Poch switched him to be a more of a CDM who played the simple passes, when really he should be used as a deep lying playmaker.
-
If we’re cherry picking videos maybe we should also find the one where he absolutely bossed Real Madrid’s midfield trio of Casimeiro, Kroos and Modric at 21 years old.
-
We had a team of spineless morons last season that showed no fight, grit or determination. I’m not sure if anyone here has even watched Winks play but he’s exactly the type of player we should be going for. From what I’ve seen he always gives 100% and isn’t afraid to get stuck in. Let’s not forget he’s also started in a UCL final, played for England 10 times and been previously linked with Man City. Could even be a potential captain given our total lack of leadership since Kasper left.

Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?
shiv replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Ultimately, I don’t think anyone can say whether it’ll be a disaster or a masterclass. Most people giving an opinion are doing it for one of two reasons: 1) they are positive and think it’s a good appointment / they are negative and think it’s a bad appointment 2) they want to come back to their post in 6 months time and gloat to massage their ego -

Worth noting that when Sousa took over we played a very old fashioned style of football which was a mixture of long ball / pushing our wingers down the flanks with big Stevie Howard up top. We transitioned to a possession based style of football from when Puel took over. So you would hope in the same way Brendan benefited from Puel’s foundations, Enzo will benefit from Brendan’s foundations. -

Hopefully that now reaffirms that he is a parody account Can’t believe people thought he was “ITK” because he got a few starting lineups correct -

I’ve said this before but it’s good we’re taking a gamble on someone who probably has a lot to prove. Enzo will be hungry to succeed given his first attempt at being a manager didn’t go well. Would much rather have some one who has a lot on the line to succeed than an EFL journeyman. If we appoint the likes of Smith, Parker etc the likelihood is they will continue to get jobs in the Championship even if they fail with us. -

Agreed. Although personally I think I’d go for a middle ground appointment that’s sort of in between Parker and Maresca. RvN would have been my top choice but not sure he’d come. Hutter should definitely be in contention too. -

Do you ever have anything positive to say whatsoever? Not my first choice by any means but shows we’re trying something different rather than the usual crap names we keep seeing pop up. -

I think the odds are purely being driven by these twitter morons. Marsch was odds on to be our manager a few months ago and we ended up with Smith. No credible journalist has given any hint that we are close to an appointment. Until I see someone reputable breaking some news I’m taking everything with a pinch of salt. -

Wouldn’t surprise me if these guys are messing with the betting market to make some money. -

These Twitter “ITKs” (fan accounts pretending they have contacts) are claiming Parker is at Seagrave currently.
