Both of them I think would’ve had us higher than 18th if they’d taken over in the summer. Lennon seems like move of a quick fix to reignite some hunger and stability , Edwards feels more long term - Both are an upgrade in terms of flexibility and taking us back to a football reality of where we’re actually at in the modern game rather than having 78% possession and being rewarded with flimsy, soulless defeats.

I never thought I’d say this… With where we’re currently at, a Darren Ferguson type would be my shout or someone similar -someone that has been around for years and isn’t going to be obsessed about playing this modern day academy tippy tappy football!! We’ve got some players that in a more direct team with clearer tactics ‘could’ be effective Riis- target man Cullen/Chaplin- picking up second balls around him Burns- wow he’s been pony so far, but in a team with faster ball out to the wingers so they’re 1 v 1 could be effective Souttar- just defend, and clip it into space or up to Riis 4-4-2 McCarthy ( no playing out from the back, just up to Riis) Aluko Souttar Kanga Thomas ( I know) Burns Lundstram Page Alves Riis Chaplin/Cullen Get a manager in that will allow these players to play to their strengths, just like Savage did with Peterborough yesterday

One thing I’ll say is we’re managing his energy levels horrifically with different over complicated roles. He’s playing as a RB without the ball. He’s also inverting at times into a central area when we’ve got the ball vacating the wide space which isn’t being covered/we aren’t managing the ball well enough to take advantage of his central position. And he’s also being the wide advanced option with us having Cullen wide right yesterday but playing narrow. And again no one was covering that space yesterday when he did that and we inevitably lost the ball. His best games will be when he plays in a set position, not when he’s being asked to do 2-3 different things I like the lad and I’m not writing him off just yet after one shocking half

I’m so convinced that if we pot Martin today we’ll win next week against Doncaster and then 3-4 on the trot! Minority of play around in their own half and then zingers down the channel into space or squeezing up ready to play on second balls Meanwhile we’ve got Aluko and Thomas inverting aimlessly to create that beautiful space for them, whilst also as a collective being so careless in possession (a trait that’s happened all season at home) - our out of possession shape is appalling to witness! Get Martin gone today and we’ve got a chance of play offs, if not, 17/18th at best
