Potentially League 1 POTS if used correctly under RM. The cutback crosses, a big feature in RM’s play-style seem tailor made for him to arrive onto. I’d also give him the armband! Agreed re experience we need to bring in 2-3 experienced heads to guide them I’ll be really surprised if Aluko, Alves, Braybrooke and Page don’t get good minutes this season

Loved the bit in his interview where he spoke about the quality of the young players in his interview saying something along the lines of ‘because of where we find ourselves as a club they’ve all got a fantastic opportunity to work hard and get lots of games with us this season’ That was one of the only things I had as a real positive of him coming in so hopefully the likes of Alves, Braybrooke, Page,Aluko, Otchere, Evans, Hutchinson, Wilson-Brown etc. all get good minutes and as a fan we can sit there and recognise our Leicester City team again!

Indifferent about this signing, especially if we’re expecting 40+ games out of him 2 things to put into the room 1) Everyone’s talking about 6 goals in his last 75 games- all of these games were at a higher level than we’re at now - It’d also be interesting to see how many of those 75 games he had 30+ minutes in. I’d guess very few. 2) He’s played in the premier league for 225+ games, near on a decade and a also has a handful of caps for England, for 17 year olds Jake Evans and Lorenz Hutchinson, aspiring to have careers like that & having daily access to someone with that pedigree will be gold dust for them!

I’d like a proper ‘9’ for sure! Tolaj for me makes so much sense!! Knows the league, powerful, quick and at a great age to hopefully make the step back us with us We’d also be the biggest team he’s played for with the best training ground etc, so hopefully he can use some of the Monga, Okoli money etc. to persuade and get him in!

Agreed, I think the striker situation is quite interesting but with the quality of him and Evans they have to play! Considering our financial situation I could see an initial plan where Russ Martin starts BDR/Chaplin up there to link the game for an hour and pull defenders around, then 60/65 Evans & Hutchinson come on and stretch the game and take advantage of tired legs! Kevin Nolan predicted Evans to be his L1 player of the season last week.

Great! Another one whose competition at CB ( Vesty, Faes, Coady) made him look better than he was.

Hopefully having been a gaffer previously in the division he’ll see the games a different way, with Gill as No2 I think it’d have been ‘remember what we’ve always done Russ’ His Barnsley team got their better results with high intensity and the add DKD link hopefully could help us get him in too

If Sheff Wed were rumoured to be after him I think we’d all be saying that’s a sensible League 1 signing, scored goals at the level and at an age where he still should have the hunger and energy to kick on. I can see him playing as one off the narrow forwards in the 4-3-3 for Russ Martin, Hopefully a sign of things to come but I won’t hold my breath given recent windows/years!
