  1. 100%. We are being ran like a pub team and even that might be doing a disservice to a lot of pub teams. Awful, awful owners.
  2. Yes I understand. Sack the board/sell the club. Either way Aiyawatt cannot be running our club. He is a cancer.
  3. The fact fans turned their noses up at Dyche is laughable. Let's face it, we have a great training ground and a promising academy but everything else at the club is crap. The owners, the recruitment, the DOF, the players, the points deduction, the wage bill. Sack the manager and we will still be shopping in the bargain aisle for managers. SACK THE BOARD
  4. The only thing that will force him to sell up will be 50% empty seats and nobody spending money at the ground or online. Protests wouldn't hurt but we don't have the passion as a fanbase. The fact he isn't even there says everything.
  5. Not only is Aiyawatt a totally useless businessman and owner but he is childish and lacks class also. The lack of explanation for the reasons behind Whelan stepping down is something we have come to expect but not to acknowledge her departure either in his Portsmouth programme notes or even with an AI, 2 paragraph press release for 10+ years of service is terrible and very revealing of his character. I bet it wasn't even done face to face. As a fanbase, we need to get serious about removing him from our club.
  6. I wonder if 10k empty seats might be enough to at least cause some panic in the boardroom.
  7. That's how we roll baby! Why scour the market when agents do the leg work for John and bring him the cream? Our recruitment model is well established now and the only way that changes - and this nightmare ends - is with Top selling up.
  8. Surely if passing is the weakest part of your game by some distance, you stay behind after training and put an extra couple of hours in every day until you improve to a reasonable level. It epitomises the lack of joined-up-thinking that for a club who continually employ managers who want their CB's to play out from the back, and regularly play the most passes of any position group, go out and spend a lot of money on a CB who cannot pass a football 5 yards 50% of the time. Our recruitment is just a joke.
  9. Let's say for arguments sake that MC is not upto the job and needs to be replaced. The person in charge of scouting, identifying, and trying to convince the selected candidate is...Jon Rudkin with sign off by the little fella. The same crack management team that have appointed Cooper, RvN & Cifuentes in the past 18 months. What's the point? It's the same comedy/drama with the same script and the same awful cast. All efforts need to be devoted to getting rid of the current ownership.
  10. There are only 2 main things we can do as a fanbase from this point: 1) Protest 2) Boycott games & merchandise We do apathy a lot better than Anger so number 2 the best bet. I wouldn't blame anyone for continuing to go. I live in Notts and have 2 kids who I take probably 6-8 games a season. It's something we do together & the world wants them to be F****t fans so I am torn, but I feel enough is enough.
  11. Standard Luke Thomas Checklist for the goal: Starting position poor - check Loses a 1 v 1 duel - check Goal conceded from left side of the pitch - check. He is awful. How can Marti not see that? It's bizarre.
  12. Thanks for your reply. Don't get me wrong, Marti has been underwhelming so far and absolutely hasn't delivered on his promise of utilising the academy and continues to pick players who have failed here repeatedly. He doesn't get a free pass on that and should be called out on that. My post is questioning the wisdom of sacking another manager when there the foundations of the club are so rotten.
  13. In a league table of competence at the club Marti is comfortably mid table. There are people and issues below him that need dealing with first: 1) Top is a terrible owner. He has fostered a culture of losing and ever-decreasing standards. Perform poorly at your job and get an extended contract or a place on a padded seat next to him at games (when he can be bothered to attend) 2) Rudkin: a man who has all the charisma of a supply PE teacher. A maligned academy coach who has somehow made it into the most influential role at the club. A disgrace that will echo through the ages. 3) The rest of the board including the Communication director who cannot or doesn't know how to communicate. We must be the only club in Britain who gets their comms director to take a bow of silence. 4) the players: we must have 10 players who are earning wages far in excess of their ability which has seen 2 relegations in 3 years. Not only that, they think they are better than the club that overpays them and they ooze contempt. 5) some of the worst, most placid, unpassionate fans who sit there in silence until it comes time to clap the players off. Until we sort 1-5 out all we would be doing in sacking the manager is rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. I'm pretty sure we got the best manager available (who was interested) and the one we deserve at this point in the history of our club.
  14. I think Wednesday fans have shown that if you are really not happy with the way your club is being run and you are prepared to stop the income stream then you can get them out. It would involve dropping to League 1 and seeing the club almost destroyed and losing good people but maybe that's the only way to get the reset we need. We are hearing that Top is searching for a new CEO to run the club but I have no faith that he employ anyone but another yes person who will take a vow of external silence and promise not to challenge the regime.
  15. Only so much you can do with the squad we have Ian. You can see from the bench there is a focus on development. I would love to get rid of about 1 but be realistic.
  16. There are external forces at play here, there must be. Either there is a contract offer on the table that he isn't signing, or there is some conflict between agent and club regarding his development. My guess would be the former considering length of contract he has left. There is a desperate need for fresh ideas and personnel at the back. We have had the same back 3 (Ricardo gets a pass) we have had for 3 years and has failed repeatedly for different managers. We look so vulnerable to the counter-attack, a major problem when we are expected to dominate the ball and attack high.
  17. No I'm not condoning the performances, I think we have been poor in too many games and the manager should rightly be under pressure. I booed the team off on Saturday after an awful 2nd half Wrexham 2nd half was poor, Tuesday 1st half was poor. The fact the manager can't get a tune out of these players for 90 mins is a big red flag and his selections have been iffy and use of bench has been poor. We do have major flaws in the team & squad though and opposition teams are planning for and exploiting our weaknesses. Luke Thomas must be the worst LB in the league and yet he has just been given a new 4 year deal and seemingly the first name on the teamsheet. Talk about setting the bar low. Our squad quality is declining year on year.
  18. I would expect to get shot down on this but I think we need to reframe our expectations as a fanbase. We are weaker than 23/24 where we had the best midfield 3 in the league, Doyle instead of Thomas, James Justin, Vardy up top with Cannon, iheanacho in reserve, in form Mavididi, best goalkeeper in the league. Ricardo 2 years younger and fit all season. We now have no strikers, no quality at full back, no back up wingers, 2 relegations in the bank, saddled with more sub-standard players. Hand on heart, how many of our players walk into Coventry's team? We must still have the highest wage bill but a mid-level quality squad.
  19. Right Marti, time to sharpen your act up and bring some fresh energy to the group. You need to be brave and think about the team for next season and to start putting together a starting XI that want to be here long term and play for our badge. Jakub Ricardo (C) Vestergaard Okoli Kristiansen Winks James Monga Ramsey Fatawu Carranza (may as well give him a run) Subs Begovic Page (look to build mins in 8 role) Nelson - looking to build mins towards starting role) Silko/Mavididi (rotating with Mav based on impact) Choudhury (RB & No. 6 cover) Aluko (full back cover) Thomas if necessary Ayew (bring on to secure a lead only) Evans (build mins if game dictates) Daka (used to press & stretch pitch - not as a goalscoring option). Sat in the stands Faes Soumare Skipp Thomas
  20. Marti Cifuentes is an experienced football coach and ex player who knows infinately more about the game than I ever will. He has also assembled a back room team of ex-players & coaches who also know more than I do. However, I fail to see how he thinks Luke Thomas is an adequate full back and that his selection would not result in regular errors leading to goals. I also fail to see how he feels that Daka & Carranza can provide goals and/or an ability to lead the line successfully. Same questions surround: 1) Skipp's place on the bench. 2) Soumare's involvement in any capacity. 3) Ayew Starting. 4) Faes starting considering toxicity he gives off. All the above are fairly clear to mist on here and are problems where his idealogy would call for him to 'search for solutions within the club'.
  21. Marti will forever be the manager who made youth development and finding solutions from within the club his USP, only then preceding to play the same pile of tripe that has seen us relegated 2 out of the last 3 seasons.
  22. In order of the problems we have, Winks is pretty low down for me other than his contract situation. He is class at this level and could play in the prem still with better players around him making up for his lack of pace. He didn't cover himself in glory for the goal but in that instance he knew the player was past him and he wasn't getting back. Faes & especially Thomas much more culpable for me. His general effort is good and does more than most to drive us forward. The other central midfield options are pretty poor aside James. Skipp is the single worse bit of business we have ever done, Soumare a disaster, Hamza reassigned. This is why I would favour Page getting a good amount of minutes to continue his development.
  23. The reality on Friday was that Portsmouth were creating 95% of the atmosphere. If we could have got behind the team at 1-1 then it might have made a positive impact on the players & momentum of the game. It's become chicken & egg though as fans are waiting to be entertained. We feel like the players owe us something before we are able to support them properly again. It all feeds into the toxicity around the club which will only be dealt with properly under new club leadership.
  24. 2027? Well you have well and truly ruined my Sunday with that news.
  25. I was really happy with the appointment of Marti, I love the way he talks about ghe game and comes across very well. I liked his record with youth development and willingness to play academy players. It seems the perfect fit with our Seagrave talent factory. Something has gone awry though and he seems to not have the courage to follow through with his promises though. The bench options were so uninspiring last night, nothing at all to get excited about.
