Julián Carranza joins on loan - Official
Donwebbio replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I have just rewatched the goal. No idea what he is trying to do there dribbling aimlessly when he had 3/4 options. He looks like a panic loan that seems has been recommended by an agent on the Rudkin approved list. It was the most important bit of incoming business of the summer and it looks like another dud signing. -
I fail to see the upside of playing Faes. At this stage we are just preserving his match fitness ahead of a free transfer in the summer and in doing that we block the development of a young player with a high ceilings in Nelson. Faes' defending is erratic, full-bloodied, sometimes successful, sometimes with poor decision making. He is prone to panic and that isn't good for centre halves. I don't know what the stats are, but the clean sheet % when Faes & Lurch play together must be very low (20% this season). Having 2 poor left backs & Justin last season not helping at all mind. Football aside, he is one of half a dozen players who are part of this arrogant toxicity that hangs over the club like a hangover and an atmosphere that has been stinking the place out for a long time now. One of the few positives to come out of this disastrous Top reign is the academy and Monga & Jakub aside, we are seemingly happy to not develop them into the First team and instead play these bed blockers who have failed here repeatedly and who we have no chance of future sell fees. I am embarrassed by my club at the minute.

It hasn't stopped him from turning debt into equity to be fair. Surely that has come from his personal funds? He is still clueless and needs to sell up or appoint someone with competence to manage the day to day.

Of the many list of failings that can be levelled at the club, what comes out towards the top for me is the total failure to replace Vardy. Vardy was a unique player, a once in a generation find for a club like ours but his tIme at the club came to an end in such a drawn out, staged way that it gave us ample time to try and replace him and the best they have managed to recruit is a striker who scores 1 in 50. I like Daka's attitude and work rate and he he pulls us up the pitch with his energy and running and that really suits the system Marti wants to play. Unfortunately, his finishing ability is pretty poor which is far from ideal for a team chasing promotion. Daka, Ayew, Carranza: Marti has been given lemons and been asked to make a P0rnstar Martini. Let's support him whilst he figures out how to get us creating and scoring more.

Ok so 4th choice CB then.

I really hope that Marti has realised at least 4 things for him to continue to understand the squad he has, and to improve our performances: 1) that Vestergaard has an allergy to pace and being forced to turn to face his own goal. Yes he can play, but at what cost? 2) Skipp looks like he should be playing for the Red Lion on a Sunday morning. He has cost a fortune but he is not a Championship level player and should not be on the bench. 3) Ayew is not a CF and should not ne starting games. He is ideal to bring on in the last 10 minutes to see games out. His forte is slowing the games down and winning free-kicks. 4) we have an abundance of young talent and they are at least similar in ability to the senior players. Fans will generally be more patient towards managers if they are trying to blood young players. Have the courage to involve at least a few of them on the bench.

Let's be fair. The first half was good. We played good attacking football and got in behind Wrexham 3-4 times. We pressed, we were aggressive, we controlled the game. That was his identity and picking Daka helped, rather than playing ponderous Grandpa Jordan as a CF. Second half was poor and he called it right, there was an arrogance about us that we thought we had it sewn up. The subs were bad and Skipp should be nowhere near the team and probably Soumare too. But let's have it right, the arrogant dross still at this club and part of the first team squad are badly weighing us down, not just footballing-wise but financially. That isn't on Marti, that's on the idiots who have handled our transfer and contract management for the past 6 years. The same idiots who are still at the club. Where i have a problem with Marti is not following through on his youth vision policy. There is no doubt that Nelson should be starting, Aluko should be starting, Page should be getting eased into the team like Monga. Rudkin & Top are the real villians here.
-
It's hard to reconcile the fact that after 2 relegations, and dozens and dozens of awful performances, our final back 4 tonight still contained Faes, Lurch & Kristianson.
-
It's absolutely embarrassing how bad Skipp is. He doesn't even look like a footballer. That's on the club not Marti and it can't be easy having a player on 50k in the championship who cost £20M but not play him. Marti needs to be strong and not play Faes, Skipp, Soumare, Ayew, Hamza Kristianson, Thomas because they will get him sacked. We need youth on the bench. Nelson should be starting, Aluko has to be better than the 2 limited LB's we have, Page should be getting minutes.
-
I agree with most of what you are saying but 4 years is excessive for an average player. 2 would have been ideal, 3 years just about fine, but 4 years totally unnecessary. 4 year deals should be there for locking in your top tier talent.

Oh go on then.

I have just got round to listening to the live podcast. He is a very impressive man and coach. It has been a while since a Leicester manager has got the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. Also great to hear he has been down to the recruitment department and educated Glover that character is just as important - if not more so - than technical ability when scouting. That's something we haven't done for the past decade. My gaffer.
-
Er no. There was a photo of him drinking a cocktail while his team were getting d1cked by everyone in the Premier League and he did walk down the tunnel ignoring fans. That's fact. I won't jump on the not staying over at Seagrave angle because i think there are 2 sides to it. Just a heads up, chat rooms are full of opinions and conjecture so maybe stay clear if you only want to read absolutes.
-
Aperol Spritz, pulling out of tackles, not acknowledging fans, being picked behind Skipp & Soumare? Seems clear to me. If his attitude is right and he wants to stay, why is he not in the team when he proved 2 years ago that he is elite at Championship level?
-
It would have been an easy deal to do for a Premier league London club: cover his remaining book value and £50k a week and he could have walked to a Brentford or Fulham. The fact that he didn't tells me what was evident last year - he isn't good enough for the Premier League anymore. The game has moved on with clubs enjoying physical powerhouses in the base of midfields. Spurs saw us coming with this guy and Skipp. Slow, small, one dimensional footballers. He will wind down his handsome contract with us and then go to a London-based championship team on a much lower wages or maybe Italy where the game is slower. Whether or not he held up a sign or downed tools for Cooper, one thing is clear, since Marti came in his attitude and demeanor has been poor and he has been angling for a move which is why he hasn't played much.
-
I have said this previously that I am sure we are either receiving external advice or Marti C is having a strong hand in identifying players. Either way, it doesn't have Rudkin's fingerprints on these moves.
-
Great commitment that Rick! It feels like a make or break season for them both doesn't it. Fingers crossed they can flourish.

Straight into a team who have lost 5 on the bounce is a bit of a baptism of fire.

Unless there is an onus on balancing out profit/loss each year to give the effect of a better run outfit. Could make sense through the optics of demonstrating to the authorities that we have our house in order. If KP were looking to sell you would think they would want the cash in now with as much up front as possible - especially with our Aussie payday loans. -

Indicative of how our standards have eroded since the title win. We have signed too many arrogant, self-serving martyrs who think that they are too good to play for us. We have been given an unexpected, probably undeserved new start with a brilliant manager who will help us reestablish a strong dressing room with characters who would be proud to wear our shirt and us feeling proud that they do. For that to happen, we have to avoid the bad apples such as Faes, Winks, BEK, Vestergaard. -

This absolutely stinks of Rudkin & Neville getting shafted around the negotiating table. Last summer was an awful window when our best signing was the Morrocan Verrucca Salt. This one will be just as bad if we end up with Begovic as our only signing. -

I think at this point we need to get shot. Maybe Marti can reintegrate him in the squad after the window shuts but maybe he sulks and doesn't play or makes himself unselectable and we have a big investment tied up. BEK is a mercenary type player who thinks it is quite normal behavior to down tools and employ agents to wage a social media campaign to force moves. We knew that a year ago but still chose to sign. Let's get him out and if we can get 30 mill after achievable add-ons & a bad egg gone then thats decent. Especially if it allows us enough time to add 2 or 3 players in positions of need. -
If he didn't before then Marty will now know he is dealing with amateur operators and a dysfunctional club.
-
Maybe we could steal the Mo Salah song and give it a tweak. On the video his positioning his decent and does look like a striker. A 6 4" target man who could hold up the ball would be more suitable to our excellent wingers but maybe room for 2 with a loan. Hull loaned Delap the last time we were in this league.
