  1. I see Leeds are close to sorting out a 1 year loan deal for Aaronson to join Fulham, with an official saying, "the hope is we can keep him long term, if we return to the PL". I wonder if that might be the thinking for some players at the KP. There is already some talk of Nacho going 'up the road' on loan - perhaps that route might be considered for one or two others?
  2. We're one of 3 Championship clubs to have opted out of i-Follow. All 3 are going to stick with their own TV stream (obviously LCFC TV for us).
  3. What worries me about a guy who seemingly has never ventured outside Italy in his career, might not be a great (or even competent) English speaker. Could be a wonderful Coach, but if he don't speak the lingo, it will be difficult to get ideas over to a mainly English speaking squad.
  4. Yep, that's the guy. But then there were so many in Serie A, who got caught up with that.
  5. And it sounds like Danny Walker (ex Assistant to Maresca with Man City's U23's and currently U23 Manager at Peterborough) will be coming. Possibly replacing another disaster, in Ben Petty, who took our PL1 side down.
  6. So, to update this, other than Evans, all the the 2023 players are already on the plane, or in the departure lounge. Lots of speculation on the 2024 players. Choudhury, Albrighton, Smithies & Thomas could stay and most would hope Nacho does? Vards is a complete unknown. For the 2025's, Castagne will probably go and Barnes is likely (though a bit of hope he stays)? We all hope Ward goes, but would like Iversen to stay? For the 2026's, there is a chance Pereira might stay? 2027 - a bit of an unknown about Faes? And all others are LIKELY to join EM'S Championship party?!
  7. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/enzo-maresca/profil/trainer/53749 Yep, 3-4-1-2 is his preferred system.
  8. https://www.hammers.news/transfer-news/west-ham-insider-denies-new-enzo-maresca-claim-made-by-journalist-who-broke-haller/ Interesting an Italian journalist reported that Maresca was offered the Caretaker Manager role at West Ham when Pellegrini left and the chance to stay, as an Assistant to Moyes.
  9. While I really welcome EM'S appointment (pretty much the best of all names SERIOUSLY linked), I do think we all shouldn't hype up the Man City / Pep connections too much. He's only been one of 3 Assistant Coaches there - and that for just this season (admittedly, a good one). He did have a season and a half there a couple of years ago though, as Manager/Coach of their Development / U23 squad (with some success admittedly). Perhaps of some importance also, is his season as Manuel Pellegrini's Assistant at West Ham. For some reason, that's not mentioned on his Wikipedia page. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/enzo-maresca/stationen/trainer/53749/plus/1
  10. Completely agree with this. Choice of Assistant Coaches and backroom staff is crucial. He'll obviously need his own people (from Man City, Spain, Italy or wherever - who he knows from his work before), but I think we need to ensure a couple of his team must have some Championship experience (it is a very hard League in terms of its pressures). Perhaps staff connected with City (Shakey, or past Coaches / Players - though I hope Stowell finally gets the boot), but certainly knowledgeable with this level of football.
  11. He started his career at West Brom and had 2 seasons (98/99 & 99/00 - with 47 appearances) there (under Brian Little for a while). So you're probably right, he doesn't speak English ....... but does, Black Country!
  12. And Southampton also haven't appointed. All the talk about Russell Martin has come to nothing - with the "difficulties" about the terms of his contract seemingly stumping that move. Of course, the fact that Martin has (apprently) pulled the plug on Southampton, could mean he's on our list. We did have links to him when Bilbo left.
  13. A 55% win record with Malmo in 2 years there - including European competitions. A 45% win record with Blackburn - in the CHAMPIONSHIP.
  14. By me, he would. Has done a decent (though not spectacular) job with Blackburn, just missing out on the Play Offs. But you should also take his record with Malmo into consideration.
  15. Matt Wells is Ryan Mason's Acting Assistant Manager at Spurs - but of course that's only for 2 more weeks - Postcacoglu is coming in with his Coaching team on 1 July. I agree that Burch must be an upgrade on Stowell - but can't see him going after all these years. Instead of Burch, one possibility though to get rid of Stowell, is if Kasp is coming back. Sambiasso's suggestion that a 'new' keeper could be coming in, could tie up with Nice getting rid of KS - and him coming back as first choice keeper AND Goalkeeping Coach?!
  16. I think completely the opposite. The longer the silence, the less likely Smith will be in - if Top wanted him, he'd be appointed straight away. The fact that there's no announcement, makes me think the club are seriously weighing up the options and considering other candidates.
  17. Carlisle is my second club and although I'd hate for Carlisle to lose Simpson (again!), the last description I'd use for him, is, "young manager". He has been pretty good for Carlisle, but has a mixed record with other clubs.
  18. Thanks for reposting AKCJ's original. As you say, I think its still very relevant and says so much about the s**t we're in, re contracts.
  19. https://foxesofleicester.com/2023/05/21/jon-dahl-tomasson-future-leicester-city/ Tomasson speculation continues. I agree with FoL, he is a strong candidate. The article also mentions a player, I'd completely forgotten about. He's had a cracking season in the Championship - one of the nominations for Watford's Player of the Season (he didn't get it!). One, Hamza Choudhury. A good chance we'll see him in Leicester Blue next year?
  20. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-city-manager-update-new-8449018 Some more speculation on Tomasson.
  21. Disagree with that - I think Jon Dahl Tomasson is just as realistic and a better option. And he has been linked with us (in the Mail yesterday) unlike Corberan.
  22. Perhaps a Danish coaching team, with Kasp on board?
  23. Patson Daka would be happy - he played under Marsch for 2 seasons at Salzburg. I guess he'd be the 1 up front in Marsch's style of play.
  24. https://www.thecoachingmanual.com/blog/what-is-gegenpressing/ Marsch follows his mentor, Rangnick, in going for 4-2-3-1 and the 'Gegenpressing' style of football. It MIGHT be a decent approach in our current predicament!
  25. I've been looking at his Coaching style / ethos. He goes for 4-2-3-1 and is a disciple of his former boss, Ralph Rangnick, currently Austrian National Team Manager.
