Was it a laundry fire though? Soon after it happened the Iranians claimed to have hit the Gerald Ford and then the laundry story came out

No, I said it ironically cos Trump said they didn't need our aircraft carriers because, and I quote, "they're rubbish." Though he probably said it as, "there rubbish."
-
Ours are rubbish btw.

"Climate change isn't real and besides, there's plenty of oil." "Guys, we need loads of oil."

Where would you launch a ground invasion from? No love lost between Iraq and Iran, but I doubt they'd want US troops on their soil and it's mountains all the way to Tehran. Similar problem with Afghanistan. Pakistan, too far from Tehran and they've got their own problems. That just leaves former USSR states or Türkiye. Azerbaijan would be the easiest geographically, along the coast, but I'm not sure comrade Vlad would be too happy. Türkiye it is then... Can't see why that will be a problem, despot to despot

Sounds like something I'd like.

Attacking energy plants and desalination would be a war crime, would it not? Stick him in a cell with his mate Vlad.

For a second I thought the linked website had been founded by someone unimpressed with our former manager's, Mr Pearson, time in charge. -

Once USA troops start dying in just their 10s and then 100s, public opinion in the US will drop even more Also, have you seen the size of Iran and it's geography? There'll not be squadrons of tanks rolling over flat deserts reaching the capital in a few hours. Much more like Afghanistan than Iraq.

Yes, very true. I remember playing tennis in my youth. Rallies were rare and double faults frequent. It wasn't unusual to lose your own service game 0-40 as we refused to serve underarm.

Have they ever been hit with kiddy tennis racquets? Padel is a game for people who are rubbish at tennis and squash.

And that why you're here.

One of my favourite games ever - Doomdark's Revenge - had over 6000 locations in it. On a 48k machine! And in each location you could look towards eight different directions. In terms of memory size to map area ratio, it must be the largest terrain based game (not getting into any Elite or No Man's Sky arguments) ever.

No, but it shows not all Americans are fooled by him.

I think the Dreamcast was my favourite console. Quirky controller and for it's time, way ahead. Some of those games would hold up today.

We'd maybe in the premier League. We'd still get punished, if we spent more to get better players, we'd have been docked even more points. But you're right, the problem has probably more been not recouping our losses on players. Had we done that we could've gotten away with crap signings.

Let's be honest with ourselves. Come transfer time we've screamed at the club for not forking out even more money and buying better players. I'm not going to use the "little Leicester" excuse, but we can't kid ourselves that, without paying over the going rate, we're not going to attract players that would otherwise go to the so called big 6 or elsewhere in Europe. What is more, we're not unique in this position, other clubs have run up big debts, with poorer facilities. There was an article not long ago that raised concerns that within 3-4 seasons, over half the EFL teams will be in a position similar to ours. We are badly run - and that should be punishment enough in itself. Over glamorised "elite" teams are killing football slowly. Might be too late already, the patient is very sickly.

Board Games (Not Scrabble or Snakes and Ladders)

Most people are amazed that there are many new and diverse board games out there. I'll post a pic of my board game shelves when I get home. Too many to remember and list. -
