  1. That would be hilarious.
  2. Did anyone else see Humphrey Ker essentially dis Danny Ward on Richard Osman's House of Games today?
  3. Hold onto your knickers everyone! Russia sends navy to guard oil tanker being pursued by US forces - BBC News https://share.google/p9ff6YYcKJ21icRjy Classic brinkmanship. Fun to to play, but real lives on the line guys.
  4. The AFCON will be over by then, so he should be available.
  5. I'd quite happily put on a coat, grab a hot drink and sit outside with a good book for an hour on a day like today.
  6. I don't feel the cold (I think Bellend said same recently) so I'd be quite happy to leave the heating off and wear a jumper indoors. Ours goes on start of November and is off early March, barring the odd out of season cold snap, and never more than 20°C. Timed to come on half hour before get up and a couple of hours in the evening - might manually adjust if needed.
  7. How much did that cost?
  8. You don't constantly stare at the speedo.
  9. Can't blame you... Though not sure serious is the right word.
  10. What does it do now, just inform you when you are speeding, so no excuse?
  11. And without the noise of engine revs, less vibration in general, fast speeds feel slower. I wonder if in the future there might be some GPS device that only allows you to go as fast as the limit where you are. Or is that all a bit Big Brother?
  12. Have you seen the "Realistic" Managerial Replacements thread?
  13. As we get older we get used to it.
  14. Darwin Awards anyone? Kids playing on Carlisle ice 'goaded' crew trying to help - BBC News https://share.google/iDGORJ3qan13L8ALC I'd leave them to it. I swear humanity is becoming stupider because of an insistence on saving stupid people
  15. I'll let you off since this was posted in the General news thread two days ago.
  16. A lot of accidents at this time of year are recently passed learners who have never driven in a slippery road. On one of my lessons the snow was coming down so fast that the wipers couldn't clear the window properly so I had to pull over, which my instructor agreed with.
  17. Bin Laden also was not a head of state, he was a terrorist whose people willingly followed him, but who had to act covertly, even in his own country. The Gaddafi comparison is more relevant, though it probably drew less criticism because I benefited us and most of the world, not just the USA. Though as memory serves (I'm very open to being corrected) wasn't that more a clinical Navy Seal insertion taking him out in a relatively small compound, rather that bombs and bullets flying everywhere?
  18. Just watched the original Rear Window. Seen it a few times before, but it's class. A lesson in how to make a tense and interesting thriller without resorting to graphic violence and general testosterone driven bravado.
  19. It's also American Samoa being abandoned to look after itself.
  20. Do they mean west-east or north-south? As someone who understands maps, they're quite welcome to a hemisphere whose dividing line runs through the middle of the Atlantic.
  21. He did. There were.
  22. But... but... but... he'd soon get us playing properly!
  23. Goodnight sweet prince.
  24. It's cos you're Welsh.
