So I’m a little confused as to how/why in 2006 Israel seemed to struggle with Hezbollah and their ‘confrontation’ pretty much ended in a stalemate. Yet here we are 18 years later and despite some moderate damage by missiles from them, it appears the Israelis been able to cut through them ( Hezbollah) like a hot knife through butter.. There is not a stalemate right now, just Israel making advances and scoring some victories. Iran must be seething. In the Conext of change, their billions have bore no fruit for either Hamas/Palestine/Hezbollah. if I was Iranian, I’d feel highly embarrassed with how badly things have gone for them since Hamas’ initial attack. And if I was Hamas, I’d be raging at Iran for egging them on to do that and with how it’s effected their country at the moment. I would also wonder if Iran even cared about the Palestians at all…

Not sure if anyone saw any of the vice presidential debate last night? JD Vance was far more articulate and could explain more and policy focused in 5 minutes than either Trump or Harris was in the whole debate. Whether what he said was agreeable or not is a different story. Republicans definitely have their Trump replacement. Waltz for sure got better further into the debate on topics he felt more strongly on. They were both fully focused on attacking both of the presidential nominees, not each other which was intresting. And it was a lot more civil and respectful which I appreciated more.

So Trump is a deal maker. He’s said it many times previously that he loves making deals .. he probably could have some influence on the Ukraine war, but the time frame would be way off. fhe Israel- Palestine conflict would be much tougher to solve… neither side is willing to go with a two state solution. But just like every politician, they’ll say extravagant things to get elected..

I can really only compare the British elections to the U.S elections as those are the countries I’ve lived in..and I can assure you, the rhetoric used by U.S prospective presidential candidates are on a completely different level…… even those vying for the nomination of the republican or Democratic Party just absolutely rip into each other in a way I have never seen in England….. there certainly is no “ right honorable gentleman”..

I believe Israel’s intention is to create a buffer zone inside Lebanon to stem the flow of missiles coming their way. At least, that’s what they are saying publicly..

It just goes to show that no one in the presidential race is actually wanting to represent the people- they are all power hungry and will stop at NOTHING to get the ‘ top job’. even within their own party, they will behave the same way just to secure the nomination- and that’s against people who are supposed to be likeminded. I have such a disdain for American politics, it’s hard to even explain..

what you say about Putin is possible, but remember that Ukraine is on Russias doorstep so any Nuclear weapon sent to Ukraine could also effect Russia.. Iran is far away from Israel so no fall out would effect them. it just feels like because of November the 7th, Israel is now looking for permanent solutions. Went in Hard on Hamas and now seem to be doing the same to Hezbollah… Iran May now be entering into a FAFO stage.. it’s worth remembering that anyone who attacks Israel will not only destroy some of the Holiest sites in Islam, they’ll also destroy the very people they are seeking to protect- the Palestinians.. this might even explain why Tel Aviv is more of a target- they have the missiles to reach Jerusalem. let’s hope Netanyahu doesn’t have a “Buggrit” moment at the end of his time in office..

I have a lot more sympathy for the Palestinians than some do.. People will show you pictures of many dancing in the streets because of November 7th and yes, Hamas does have its supporters. But what many don’t realize and what Israel seem to ignore is that Hamas rule by fear and brutality and by torturing their own people. Similar to North Korea, I’d you are NOT seen celebrating the regime, you are an enemy. There’s definitely lots of people who do support them but there’s also many out there ‘ celebrating’ out of fear. I would strongly reccomend everyone reading a book called ‘Son of Hamas’ . It was written by the son of one of the founding leaders of Hamas and he describes the brutality against their own people clearly. Not only did he turn against Hamas, he left the Muslim faith because of it all..

good post. i will say however that any part of the negotiations for Israel MUST include the returning of all hostages. They will insist on that, and that in of itself for Hamas will register as a defeat. I mean, it’s not like they haven’t already been defeated, but to my knowledge, one of the reasons we have only seen sporadic use of bunker buster bombs in Gaza is because the Israelis don’t know where all the hostages are. It will be the absolute end of all Hamas underground infrastructure if the hostages are released as there will be absolutely nothing to stop them..

So it’s becoming more and more apparent that the current Israeli leadership care little about anyone but themselves. Yes, I know they have had to fight for survival, trying to secure the future of their country… I get all that… But they appear to me to be the first ‘western civilization’ who have the mentality to use a nuclear weapon. It’s clear to them that the problem is Iran. And I hope Iran personally don’t get directly involved in the conflict… And I know Iran themselves have gone on record as saying they are committed to the total annihilation of Israel. I just have a very uneasy feeling about any direct war between Iran and Israel…

It’s not about the cause for me. it’s how they are going about it. I just think they need to do better to get more people to buy into their cause and get them onside. Instead, they are alienating the very people they need to reach and are trying to redirect. They are going about it completely the wrong way and I would go as far as saying they are playing right into the oil companies hands because they are making themselves look daft. There are not many people who look upon them favorably.
