yeah that’s Quite accurate I think. it’s all very egotistical. But to be fair the whole of the American political system is. Everyone is just so power hungry. It’s not just the republicans. If you watch a party nomination debate they will absolutely tear each other to shreds, bring up every minute piece of dirt, publish any article on how they spoke to a waitress sharply one time all done publicly just to secure the party nomination. So in the style of George Orwell and in the case of Trump, all American politicians are egotistical but some are more egotistical than others. It will never cease to be a culture shock for me.

i find it it very hard to reconcile his desire to take us out of a rules based world order with his desire for the Nobel peace prize

This absolutely can not be true… I know mossad are something else but no way surely.. Mossad’s “Tooth Fairy” Strike: How Dental Implants May Have Sealed Iran’s Fate In a stunning escalation on March 1, 2026, joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, dozens of top regime officials, and several of his family members in precise attacks on Tehran compounds. Amid the chaos, a viral claim circulating on social media asserts that Mossad agents, posing as dentists and gastroenterologists inside Iran over recent years, implanted miniature GPS trackers in the dental fillings and digestive systems of key military and elite figures during routine procedures. This allegedly allowed real-time pinpointing of targets—including Khamenei’s inner circle—enabling the strikes that reportedly eliminated over 400 high-value personnel in the opening salvos. While mainstream reporting confirms the deaths of Khamenei, IRGC commanders, defense ministers, and relatives through conventional intelligence and surveillance (including long-term tracking of movements and meetings), no official Israeli or U.S. source has verified the dental-implant story. Similar tales of extreme Mossad ingenuity—like prior rumors of trackers in less dignified locations—have surfaced before without confirmation. The precision of the operation underscores Israel’s deep penetration of Iranian security, whether through human sources, cyber means, or—if the whispers prove true—something far more intimate. Either way, the regime’s paranoia couldn’t outrun the inevitable. HT ISRAEL NOW

too many melts about, that’s for sure.

Just as an aside, I wonder if there is any connection with the timing of this and the timing of Pakistans incursions into Afghanistan. The Taliban’s recent ‘alliance of necessity’ with Iran ( training and munitions provided) could have potentially grown. I suppose keeping them both busy at the same time makes sense.

just a reminder that Iran are on record as being committed to the total annihilation of Israel. in my opinion, words like that free Israel from a commitment of diplomacy to a commitment of defensive measures. and yes, unfortunately preemptive attacks are the best form of defense, when statements like that are on record.

im all for regime change. I just prefer when it’s done democratically. That’s just not possible with a bloodthirsty Ayatollah in charge.in 1997 when khatani was elected president he tried to bring around reforms. They passed the votes, were sent to the ayotollah to be signed off on and he threw them out. it could be argued that Rouhani in 2013 was a centrist as he was agreeable to a nuclear deal for the easing of sanctions ( only for the Iranian terms to be altered and hardened by the ayotollah). It’s still up for debate however as to wether the Americans shot themselves in the foot when a certain ehem president withdrew from that deal. But it keeps coming back to the ayotollah. still, it remains that the Iranian people are not the problem and neither maybe are their politicians although I admit the line has been muddied between their politicians and who I believe the real issue is - the inappropriately named ‘ assembly of Experts’ who elect and appoint the Ayatollah. so, troops on the ground would be a wholly unfair escalation, but it doesn’t seem like we operate in a world of fairness anymore anyway.

it’s possible it was the same speech but listen to the last section

right I get all that. But why is he doing this? What’s the reason? who is it aimed towards? The more I’m thinking about it, I think it’s aimed towards our allies in the area.. those that are being attacked in the area that host American/British airbases.. if they can be convinced this is a war, they might somehow be willing to participate? he’s not going to win Dems support and he got elected by promising his MAGA that there will be no long term wars so it serves no national purpose to keep banding that word around.. I’m really not sure but I can only guess it’s for an international audience

One interesting point is that the term ‘war’ is a very legal term in the United States. Usually, it can only be used in a legal description in the United States once it has been ratified by congress. However trump , hesgeth and others are using the term freely.. I wonder why?

he’s actually told them not to yet. He’s told them to wait until all the bombing campaigns have been completed. He said that on his very first speech on the subject.
-
I have responded for this but it appears I am going to deep into the subject and it is awaiting moderator approval. I guess “ we shall see” is perhaps a more succinct response.

iran have been killing Americans for decades, at very political event they have, they chant “ death to America”. I live in North Carolina, and although not a Trump fan myself , those that live around me who are see regime change in Iran as a good thing. Within hrs of the Ayotolla be8ng killed, his interim successor was too. Similar tactics being used in how they dismantled Hezbollah as a viable opposition. Trump never said it would be like Venezuela - he’s on record as calling this a war and saying it will last a while.
-
the good guys are the every day Iranian people desperate for a free and democratic Iran.
-
so you’re saying they are as bad as each other? no arguments from me on that one
-
bad example you’ve chosen there when thousands of Iranian women have recently been murdered for simply objecting and protesting for having their face covered..
-
I actually think there has been a catastrophic miscalculation on behalf of the Iranians. I believe their original intention in bombing other countries in the region was to pull some anger out of them with it being directed towards the Americans in a “ how dare you bring us into this” kind of way. To put pressure on the Americans to stop all this and isolate the Israelis. However, all anger from these countries seems to be directed firmly towards Iran with some talk about their right to retaliate. A massive miscalculation, they’ve destroyed friendships they were gently building and are succeeding in isolating themselves even further..

shows what I know…I thought it was Ian Huntley who just got absolutely battered in prison..

you should already be on the boat. You should want us to succeed.. was he my first choice? No. Far from it. Just listening to some players interviews over the years will tell you how important the fans are to a situation like this. We’ve had a reset in manager. The fans need a reset too.
-
why would you not be hopeful he’s the answer? We should All be hopeful he’s the answer. He might not be , but it’s bizarre for you to not be hopeful he’s the answer. It sounds like you WANT us to get relegated

Someone is in for an absolute pasting. I’m under if it will be us or Norwich, though..
-
scoring goals is not our problem. We seem to be ok at that. There’s only like 2-3 teams out of the top 6 who have scored more than us. It’s conceding them that’s the issue.

someone should tell them Marti Cifuentes is available

It’s a shame we didn’t win but that has to boost the confidence a little bit!
