Never a penalty, Faes not at fault this time, ref made the wrong call.
-
We actually look good, just waiting for the standard error to gift them a goal
-
Marti didn’t cover himself in glory tonight but look at the dross he has to work with…this board surprised the footballing world when they decided not only to sign Vestergaard after we put 9 past his Southampton side but give him a new 3 year deal on top of that, it just sums up the decision making at this club over the last few years. He didn’t play tonight but it was one of the few games we haven’t seen Soumare, who has been absolutely useless for 4 years. The recruitment has been a complete joke and nobody is held accountable.

It seems we don’t actually have a plan of attack, it’s all keep ball and give it to the wingers to improvise. With the quality on the pitch we look clueless on how to actually get into goalscoring positions.

He really needs a performance here for the sake of his career. Been given a lifeline really

It does worry me that Marti and Co do not see what we see, taking James off and leaving Ayew on until the 70th minute is a severe lack of judgement. We know Ayew isn’t a striker, completely agree with the post regarding it coming across as a manager putting his son on every set piece and leaving him on regardless of how crap he is. It’s getting a bit weird. We got away with it, the performance was a shambles. -
AYEW IS OFF?!! Who will take our set pieces now marti?
-
I want to like this manager but the persistence of Ayew is going to get him sacked.
-
The audacity of Ayew to take the number 9 shirt
-
Important to remember from a wingers perspective, if you know your striker is **** your going to end up trying to miss him out and go for goal yourself, the longer this game goes on with Ayew up front…the more long range punts we’ll see from Mav and Abdul.
-
I genuinely don't think we have a game plan attacking wise… this just smells of do what you want lads and hopefully it comes off.
-
I’d settle for Daka up top at the moment
-
At least he looks awake this time
-
Trust our defence to make the goalscorer look like prime Messi, terrible defending. Should have been stopped way before he even had chance to shoot

Overall we played well, glaringly obvious we will not go up with Ayew up top. It was never a good idea was it. Will wait to see what Carranza brings but not signing Kone was a mistake I feel. -
This was just the obvious choice wasn’t it, I doubt he turned us down.. more that we didn’t make our interest concrete. All if’s and but’s - clear to see he had pedigree to score goals in the championship, hopefully Carranza can hit the ground running.

Can’t see how any club justifies covering his wages to be honest, isn’t it reported to be £70k a week? His output clearly isn’t worth that salary. Think he’ll stay put and accept he’ll never get the contract like the one he’s had here.

Weird signing, always looks miserable as well, hope it gets done for both our sakes. -
Couldn’t give a toss where he goes just get his wages gone, stealing a living

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)

Already happened with Soumare and Kristiansen, no reason it can’t happen again. Imagine it will have the same effect on squad morale too, didn’t want to be around through the rough but want to be around when we’re back in the big time. -
Been here a year and downs tools because he’s been linked with a move, all a bit pathetic really. Just get on with it until something materialises.
-
Get him gone ffs

There’s something about Stephy that frustrates me, he has moments of brilliance from time to time but it just depends whether he’s up for it or not. We’re gonna need him this season, just hope he’s committed. -
Has looked uninterested ever since he arrived. Remarkable that he is a centre midfielder and he doesn’t impose himself on any game, more often than not it just passes him by. Apart from the Europa League one against Spartak Moscow where he hit the bar, has he been seen in a goalscoring position since?

Fantastic business that is, never the same player after his injuries. Any chance of spending some of the money now..
